Anyone know how to bypass the Verizon voicemail password?
I've never had a cell phone where you couldn't choose whether to use a password or not. Anyone with Verizon know if there is a way to bypass it asking for the password everytime I want to check my voicemail?
Thanks! |

Give tech support a call, they answer fairly quickly. |

cant you choose it out of the options on VM or on web page?
|
I have Verizon also, but use a special date as my password. Not aware of any way to bypass it, but like Wiz said~ give them a call.
Good luck and see you tomorrow. |
I asked them the same question when I set mine up and you have to have a password to get into the voicemail box. It's 4 digits. Make it something very easy for her to remember.
|
Yes I have verizon and I asked also. Has to be 4 digits. I gave my sis the password, so I'm calling her a lot...lol

Thanks everyone! We just got the new phones. We've spent way too much time playing with them. I downloaded the same song three times for Jim. lmao
I wont have any clean clothes for the gtg! :yikes: Gotta run! |

If you need to have a 4 digit password that is EASY TO remember, well to me, it's the basic 1 2 3 4 Anyone can remember this. Even me!!! lol |
Try 1111 or 0000 if that doesn't work try the last four numbers of the phone number. Some providers now use the last four of social...all else fails call Verizon.
Easy numbers to remember are the year you were born, last four digits of social, number on house, last four digits of home phone... as long as no one tells what the password is should be safe. |
I made it her b-day and she said she thinks she can remember that. lol
Thanks everyone! |
Sandy under the voicemail (which is usually hold down the 1) you can put in after the *86 p and then the password. Then all she has to do it hit the 1 key and it will go directly to her voicemail. That was you don't have to put the password in - it does it for you!!!
very easy! |

I tried that but I can't edit it. It's preset to be a speed dial to voicemail. How did you do yours? |

settings Phone - on this page it says "Voicemail" *86 after the *86 put in p1234# "1234" is your password click ok now when you press 1 and hold it down, it automatically calls your voicemail and puts your password in for you. |
Thanks Char,
Apparently my phone is too old to have that option. Thanks for the info though. Someday we're going to get upgrades here. Maybe my phone will bite the dust so I can get one of those little keyboard numbers. ;) |
Ok, I will try it on my phone too! I will have fun getting mom to do it 600 miles away! lol
Thank you! |
For me, it's under the contact list. I clicked on edit to put in that info and it wont let me. :hissyfit:

Sandy, Is your phone an LG?
I called tech support and figured it out for my LG7000. It was under: Menu Messaging Settings Edit Voicemail # She said it is sometimes hard to find. She had me enter two, 2 second pauses though. Tried it out and it works!! :D |
Wiz!!!!!!! Yes!!!!! That's it!!!!!! LOL Mine is the LG Voyager. Mine worked without the two second pause. Whoohoo!
Thank you thank you thank you!!!!!!! Now, have to figure out mom's Motorola Moto. hahaha |
Cool - I am glad you both figured it out!! :D

OK, how stupid do I feel? I have both DH's and my cell phone set up with the passwords stored like Char suggested. I have been doing that for years. Even still, I never THOUGHT of telling Sandy she could do that! Instead I sat here wracking my brain trying to think of a way around the password. Argh! Need more coffee....
|
What a terrific idea! Why didn't I think of that?
Can someone figure out how to program it for a Nokia? It won't let me when I go to speed dials. |
Here we go again! lol Twinks, give us at least a day. lol
|
:o should i post my blackberry questions too?
|
Sure why not? hahaha Hey, maybe we should change the title to something like "Ask your cell phone questions here." lol
Twinks, what model is your Nokia? |
