OT..What's Your Favorite TV Shows.
I don't have Tivo, so I have to stop everything when my Favs are on. House Tonite at 9PM ET!!
I also like the original CSI, Close to Home, Ghost Whisperer, ER, Law and Order and Medium. Oh and I like The Closer too, but haven't seen it lately...where is it? I'm sure there are more, I can't think of, right now, but TV and my PC are my favorite pastimes, in my old age..LOL Oh and I don't watch any of the reality shows.....Booooo!! |
I'm with you all the way Sally. Like NCIS--the original CSI, and Jerico -- have you seen that yet? I really like it. And I am getting hooked on Lost again (yikes)
I don't do the reality shows either and that is making it so some of my evenings are spent reading --but thats good too. I guess I am getting old and grodgy --just find the reality shows too fakey dramatic. I haven't gotten into House--although it does look good -- I have problems watching medical shows when the doctors are kinna disfunctional--or at all human...I want people that are going to constantly poke me with needles to be well adjusted and happy and get lots of sleep. (is this a fobia or what??) How about Movies? -- I rent DVD's on weekends -- not much out lately unless you like cartoons. :) :) Gail |
I guess I would have to say my all time fav is Prison Break. I like all the Law and Order and CSI shows, House, ER and Medium. But I do have to admit I am a reality show addict. Hello, my name is Joyce and I am a reality show addict. Survivor, Biggest Loser, Amazing Race, Extreme Makeover, home edition are my biggest ones. Then there are the reality shows on TLC, HGTV and Style. Sounds like I watch to much TV.

Favorite shows
My favorites are "House" and "CSI". I have no interest in the reality shows.

OMG, I forgot..I do watch Extreme makeover, Home Addition.:o And, Yes Gail, I do watch Jeroico. I can't seem to get my mind around it, though. Maybe I'm not giving it my undivided attention.
And, another thing I watch, is Court TV, late at night. Dog, The Bounty Hunter, Psychic Detectives and Forensic Files..etc...but not Cops. My only Soap is "All My Children"...Been watching it since it's debut on TV...I think Erica was only 19 or 20..LOL |
I like the original CSI and The Office. I watch reality TV too, like Biggest Loser and The Amazing Race. I can't get into Survivor this time athough I usually love it. I keep recording Grey's Anatomy and ER but never get around to watching them.

Seinfeld Re-runs. :)
|
Wow, I like many of the same shows as you guys do! Except for reality shows and soaps. I also like a few comedies and Leno of course. :) Not to mention Wheel of Fortune and Deal no Deal. I like Ellen Degeneres too but I rarely see her since I work most days.
|
Jerico is on, Gail. I think I will give it more attention tonight to see if I can get into it. Nothing Else on tonight...for me, at least.
Mash is still my favorite rerun show.:D Oh, and ELRaymond. |
OH My Sally -- All my Children -- I watched that way back in the 70's when I was working nights....and now the same people are still there!!! Ericka Waht a hoot,
Its only 6:30 here so Jerico isn't on yet -- I just think its really interesting --Reminds me of "The Stand" by Stephen King. and I like the OLD guy --the one thats married to Delta Burke from Designing women in real life. He's cute -- old people cute -- but cute. It looks like a violent one tonite though -- I guess that the reality of the situation is hard -- but kinna realistic. Hope you enjoy it. and after that is Lost -- this is my one "late" night up a week -- all the way to 10:00 pm..WOW. I have to be up by 5:30 for work and must have my zzzz. Well -- talk to you later. :) Gail |
I don't think they will ever have a show like The Cosby show and Mash!!!!!! Both are great learning experiences. Cosby on how to raise a family and Mash on not worrying about petty things in life.
|
Has anyone here mentioned "Grey's Anatomy"? I adore that show. My husband and I used to watch the series "24" also, but it doesn't seem to be on anymore, or they may have moved it. We were able to buy last year's series on DVD and we have yet to view it.
|
I LOVE Extreme Makeover, home edition. That's gotta be my fav. I love lots of others mentioned too: CSI, ER, some reality shows. (Fortunately), I no longer watch soaps.
I find the acting and writing on Grey's Anatomy to be fake, I prefer ER by far for its realistic portrayal... GA just seems too phony and "acted". Haven't watched any of the new ones but I hear Prison Break is fantastic. I also like Dog too. I haven't watched House but I've heard nothing but good things about that one either. I do like Deal or No Deal and 1 vs. 100 too. |
Chris, I do enjoy Grey's Anatomy and yes wanneby, it is a bit fake or I would call it Camp rather than fake. ER is a more serious Medical show.
BBS, I never liked Seinfield. I just found it too silly for my taste, but then, so was Lucy, and I laughed my head off at that show. The comedy I watched religeosly was Ev. Loves Raymond, and still watch the reruns. I have the TV on all the time for noise, it's my companion now...What an exciting life..Huh! |
This past couple of weeks, while trying to recover from being so sick, I've watche TV...for the first time in years....during the day time. I've decided I do not like soaps or infomercials or home shopping networks...or even most of the talk shows. I have ended up watching old Westerns on AMC or old Star Trek (and spin off) shows.
Have always been an ER fan. Like Grey's Anatomy. Always watch Survivor if I can. Like the writing and acting in NCIS and The Unit. |
Anyone been watching "Men in Trees" -- I am really enjoying it.
And I try and find "Golden Girls" and "Designing Women" reruns. All chick flicks and funny. :D Gail |
Gsodie, I love Men in trees!!!!!! But I also love ER. Last night they said they are moving Men in trees to Thursday at 9!!!!!!!!! I guess I'll have to learn how to use the VCR. It is confusing to me what to do when I have one remote for the TV and another for the VCR. I used to be the one that would show my husband how to do anything electrical. But now I can't hardly understand it.
|
I've never seen Men In Trees...what's it about?
|
Doydie -- I know -- I saw that they are moving it -- but out here it won't be on until 10:00 thursdays -- I am going to have to tape it too...cannot stay up quite that late. 5:30 comes to early.... Man o man!!!
Sally -- Men in Trees is set in a little town in Alaska where a female writer went to talk to them about 'relationships'. there are about 10 men in this town to every 1 woman. She ended up staying there after she found out her 'city' boyfriend was cheating on her. The men there are 'real men' -- rugged -- no jewlery, straight to the point honest, secure and are pretty good looking in their flanel shirts. Bascially, what most of us dream about (or maybe thats just me). Anyway -- I think its fresh, entertaining and, from what I've heard about Alaska--not too far from the truth about these small communities there. Just wish the men part were true. OH well -- Hope you are doing better tonite Sally. Been worried about you. Take care kiddo -- :) Gail |
Thanks Gail, I'm doing mucho betta.:D Not quite ready for the Irish Jig yet, but, then, I never was much good at it..ROFL.
OMG Folks, How could I have forgotten my favorite show, on Sunday night....Cold Case. I love everything about it..the writing, acting and especially the great music they play evey week. And I like Missing too...and...and...and. Oh forget it, I watch a lot of TV and multitask on my PC. |
I like anything that makes me laugh! And I love reruns of old comedies.
Sorry to say... but I hate House! I find it just a little too.... out there! But on the other hand....I love The Sopranos. So I guess I'm diverse and weird all at the same time. I'm glad we're not all the same! Happy watching guys!!!! |
I always tune in for the Friday night line-up: Ghost Whisperer, Close to Home, and Numbers. Sit-coms bore me. Night-time soap operas may be initially interesting, but ultimatally bore me. So-called reality (read, to me, phoney) I actively dislike, but I like actual reality, like American Justice, Biography, Medical Incredible, Maternity Ward, and Ten Years Younger. I loff the American version of What Not to Wear. I watch anything to do with WWII, including documentaries; a person can't know too much about about WWII, IMO one of the few justified wars we fought. I loved Band of Brothers so much I bought Ambrose's book. I like Midsomer Murders, Poirot, Miss Marple (the British version), and Sherlock Holmes with the late Jeremy Brett. I liked Prime Suspect with Helen Mirren. I like British TV; I enjoy British humor and the acters on British TV are actual people, particularly the women. As opposed to the fake boobs, face lifted, capped teeth, reed thin, perfectly coiffed women offered on American TV.
Actually, this last makes me crazy. Men can be fat, bald, stupid, and have less than lovely personal habits. Ditto kids. In short, actual human beings. Women: perfect. Even the ads. Double  . Get a life, Hollywood. Chris |

I am also tired of reruns already, in the middle of the new season. Last week Cold Case wasn't on and tonight it was a rerun. The good thing is that, The Closer's new season starts Monday night..Yeaaaa!! I like the fact that the off stations start their seasons later than the big 3 networks. |
