Ideas for new BT2 name
Well now, I haven't stopped to think much about this, but to get the ball rolling:
Brain Central BrainPower Mind over Matter The Nerve Centre The Think Tank I know some ideas have already been put forward, perhaps they could be copied here by the individual poster. Just makes it a whole bunch easier to have 'em all in one place. (To all those who have criticized the choice of BrainTalk2 as a board title, remember it was named only as a temporary refuge for BT members; DocJohn has said he'll happily rename it - now's your chance to christen it properly). More later :) all the best |
I like all those! :)
No Brainer Support & Compassion Forum~~~~~ Yes, lame I know! Medical Issues and Friends Forum Not sure if you want to leave the word, "Brain" in it. World Wide Brain Central Forum Medical Support Forum Braintalkers R Us Okay, back to lurkdom for awhile. :D Or unless I can think of something spectacular! Feebs |
i like the word noggin
Can't resist:
Noggin Neurological Network or just Noggin Network paula I had to re-register today to get in....so back to post 1 |

I stink at names, but I like all of the above :D
|
I think that most of those sound good. The only ones I wouldn't pick personally are the ones with colloquialisms in - it makes it much harder for anyone non-American English speaking to find the forum via a search engine.
JMHO, Swift |
These all sound good!
The name should also reflect a domain name that can be acquired, so unfortunately most of these are taken (at least the simpler ones!). John |
www.neurotalk.org is available

I like that one actually. I like them all. Mine was just more of throwing idea's out there. Feebs |
I like the idea of BrainTalk too. i.e. BrainTalk2 seems fine to me.
I don't think it's a good idea to change names ... people get confused. I was at one forum that changed about 4 times, and with each change they lost a quarter or more of their members... In the end, there was almost no one left... |

Rather than a thinly veiled copy...
I just really like the idea of keeping BrainTalk2. It is Brain Talk, too. |

TCC Feebs, you have some really neat "feel" names, but I confess that when I read just the words "no brainer" all by themselves, I lost it. Absolutely lost it. You hit the right spot on my humor scale at just the right moment when I needed that spot tickled - rofl!! Thank you! |

I have to ask, does your name have to do with Merlin? There's a Mary Stewart book by that name about Merlin. I love it! |
I goggled neurotalk and this site came up as the 5th website link already.
Doc John has already refered to us here as such so that would work out great! I like neurotalk.org. bizi |
I like that also. Waves at Bizi :D
|
The Noodle Factory!
:D
That was cute! |
she really isn't kidding. :p

sorry
to take up space , but this is kind of like me having 2 granddaughters named Jennifer. It has been difficult at times, but they even play around with it now and then.
I named them Thing 1 and Thing 2 a couple of years ago. :p I don't think BrainTalk1 and BrainTalk2 would work out as good as granddaughters.;) It's hard to find a name that someone else hasn't already taken . Take my name, first it was Jo, we changed something on the site and everbody had to re-register. Couldn't use plain old Jo, had to add the six.Jo6 Here, well you can see, JoJo6. lol I'm gona have to find anouther name, maybe Jennifer?:D |

I like this name very much indeed. |
.....my vote would be for neurotalk as well...............and braintalk still isn't up yet?.....I've tried but no joy.

I like neurotalk. But I keep thinking it was so much more than neurology, or ... that probably doesn't matter. It's just a name. I guess it was mostly neurological. Well crikies, doody, it doesn't matter, LOLOL! Are fibro, TMJ, depression, ADD, chronic pain, and ulcerative colitis neurological illnesses? Because I found help for most of those matters at BT. Course, our brains are pretty important. But then, so are our hearts and souls.
Say, can we have a philosophical phorum at the new neurotalk? :o I think it's time for me to go take my hot bath and meds. :D Dictionary.com Unabridged (v 1.0.1) - Cite This Source new! neu‧ro‧pa‧thol‧o‧gy /ˌnʊroʊpəˈθɒlədʒi, ˌnyʊr-/ Pronunciation Key - Show Spelled Pronunciation[noor-oh-puh-thol-uh-jee, nyoor-] Pronunciation Key - Show IPA Pronunciation –noun the pathology of the nervous system. And you'll have to forgive me. I only just discovered the other day that we have something called 'chaos science' so my brain has gone all a blather. (Darn you Edward Lorenz and your butterfly!)

Maybe they should change their name to www.bannedinboston.org I like neurotalk too although I was trying to find a name a little more descriptive of what really goes on on sites like this like "neurohaven" but it was already taken. |
I'm so glad that everyone seems to like the name NeuroTalk!! :D
When it first popped into my head I didn't think anyone would like it and I almost deleted it as a suggestion... Now I'm glad I didn't delete, I'm glad it's available as a domain name, but most of all I'm happy because people like it :D Although, I also like betterthanbraintalk and bannedinboston :) |
To Reverett123
Oops. I just googled "NeuroTalk" and saw that Reverett123 used that name for a temporary site he set up for PD. He mentions it in the PD forum here. But perhaps he'll join us and we can see how he'd feel about us using it....
all the best :) |

But remember that the beauty of fractals come from this "chaos". I do suggest tho that you get your brain blather under control as they have discoverd that the result of this chaos is associated with the onset of a heart attack (really!) http://www.schuelers.com/ChaosPsyche/part_1_3.htm |
PsychCentralTalk might be an idea... as we are on PsychCentral's site.
|
On the other site I coined the word "braintalkers" and I wouldn't object to it's use here. How about Braintalkers Support?

It doesn't say "PsychCentral" in the address bar... ????? |

Okay, confused here... does Banned_in_Boston link to BrainTalk1? is that why it's blank when it finishes loading... or didn't it finish loading and I didn't wait long enough... ??????? |

I think this may be my Most Favorite Post!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! or at least, This Decade!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! May be the forum, if we Have To change the name, should be OrderFromChaos :D Except that's so clumsy and long... but then... look at the name of my site... which probably explains why I've only just had a 100,000 visitors. :( |

The Crystal Cave, that's really lovely. I love to spell it out and think about it. I'm so happy that you did mean that. I just loved the book. I read it, as an aside, in Marborough... which is apparently Marl - for Merlin - and Borough, for barrow... grave. :) Or else I wished I'd read it there, sometimes I can't be sure, since I've had the brain damage. :) You know what, I don't think the notice thing was working for me, because I didn't see your post until just now. (((((((((TheCrystalCave)))))))) and ((((((((((TCC)))))))))))))) (just to be sure you know I mean You!) |
How about www.QuickPieCrust.net?
(just kidding) As an aside, did you see that there is a www.BrainTalk.net ? That being the case, I don't see why we need to change.... (I hate change!!!!) (and not just because I prefer hundred dollar bills.) Or, how about: NatteringNoodles that pays a bit of homage to the flour aspect of it all... Or... Converse with the Chaos thing in mind: Reversed, as in position, order, or action; as well as, To engage in a spoken exchange of thoughts, ideas, or feelings; Or... UtterAmazement Or... VerbalMarvel Or DurableVerbal Or... AptlyVerbal Or... VerbalCluster Or... VerbalNeural Or... HastyArray Or... HurrayArray Or... BrainGathering (a little horror movie sounding, though) Or... TheSetofAllSets Perhaps too mathematical :( Or... IdeaLot That sounds like something immigrants might be fearing... Or... BatchofBrains (again... a little Solent Green in flavor... so to speak?) Or... SynapseExpress Or... FriendlyMeanings (Friendly=BT2 Meanings=BT) Or... HeadPosts Or... FriendlyMinds Or... SeasonedReason Or... MindandSpeak (like hide and seek, but different) Or... GrayMatterAddress Or... LobesofFun Or... VocalLobes Or... VocalFolks (sounds a bit like it must be Bush's idea) Or... NeuroThreads (what to wear to the Neurologist's) Or... BanteringBrains Or... BrainBanter Or WitsandNerves Or CentralNervousSystem Or... NeuralExpress Or... PS (PostSense) Or... PostToast Too focused on the banned aspect? |
