Update on Amie and me
Well I went into the hospital on thursday morning and we got things started around 9am. things were going good I got to 3 cm and no change after that. I made the choice to turn off the pit and epi at 10:30 pm to let my body rest and we would start things in the morning. Well we got things started today I was in hard labor having contractions every 2 min for about 4 hours. So i was all excited thinking that I had made big progresses. When they checked me I was still 3cm and was not going anyplace. So at that point the docs and I amde the tough choice to turn off the epi and the pit and let labor stop and I could go home and come back on Monday if I hhave nto gone into labor on my own over the weekend.
It sucks that we were sent home nut the did not break my water so it is safe. I am going for a long walk tomarrow to see if I can help things along a bit. I will keep you all up to date to let you know how things go. |
Why, that little stinkah!
Glad you're okay, Turt, take that walk, have some pickles and get some rest, she obviously has some unfinished business. |
Thanks for the update, Turt. Guess your little belly bun is not finished baking.
Obviously she wants to stick to her OWN time schedule! ;) |
Oh you poor thing! I recall those last few days... I hope Amie will make her grand arrival soon!
|
I hope she isn't going to be stubborn all her life..:)
Walk, Walk, Walk........Breath, Breath, Breath.. |
I remember begging mine to come out! Tell your doc to take a trip. Mine was supposed to induce me after his weekend out of town. he boarded the plane at 8:05 that morning and at 8:30 i was in labor.... Granted, it took 47 hours and a vacuum suction, but she finally came out!
She likes it in there with all the warmth and comfort. LOL Put some ice on your belly and blare some Gwar. She'll come out. ;) |
Oh YUCK! at being in hard labor and then being told to go home!!!
Never having gone through it myself, but having watched many deliveries, I would have reached over and squeezed the doc in some strategic place and said very quietly through my teeth..."get this kid OUT OF ME!!!! We will be waiting patiently!:) |

Oh you should have heard me snarl at my doctor for our youngest son's delivery. She was wasting time yacking and I was holding back delivery. |
sorry sue.
you must be disappointed. and you've been so uncomfortable. i hope monday brings amie out. c'mon amie! your family wants to cuddle you. :grouphug: |
Me thinks you've made things so warm and cumffy in there that your little darling doesn't want to come out just yet!
I must admit I didn't go through what you're going through. I only gave birth to the one live baby, and she was 3 weeks early and with just a 4 hour labour. Doesn't mean I don't commisserate though...... |
Wait a minute! Don't Turtles lay eggs?
Just yolking, Amie! Please hurry and hatch! :) |
I think she's trying to hold out until Tuesday and be born on 11/11 like my daughter. In three years it will be 11/11/11, which only happens every 100 years, so that would be a good time for a big birthday bash. (Not that I wish you a longer wait, of course, but it is a cool birthday)

Shoot, I had a boyfriend with that date. Remember that, but not who. Talking 37 years ago. |

I say for 11/11 too. |
My niece Anya will turn three on Tuesday.
|
DH's grandmother was born on 11/11. She was a great lady!
|
11/11 would be a great day to have a baby! At 11:11 each day, the angels are at their busiest and this is the time you can ask for special help. Be careful though because this is also the time they are at their most humorous and like to tease. :D
No matter when she comes, she will be one of the most anticipated babies here on NT! http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t...ki/angel-1.jpg |
WHAT???? No bambino YET??? I didn't get that memo!!!!
Take care Turtle dear. I feel for ya; my 1st one was a lil pistol to get out! She was late too! As nasty as it is here in TH, I'd stay in there till Spring. You know I'm kidding, right??? (sending hugs your way) |
I'm sure you're dissapointed, but just think, one day you can give Amie the guilt trip over being the baby who you had to go through TWO labors for!
:p Tell her you're not eating anything yummy till she's born - just creamed pease. Blech! That'll get her born. |
turt,
i forget. is monday the day? how many wks are you? you've got to have her by the end of the yr for tax purposes! |
Just to add to what I ahve all ready posted. There were alot of things going on that day. At one point I had 4 docs checing me and talking to each other and saying that all the landmakrs are gone. There was a buldge there that they could not figure out what it was. After taking some guesses tehy figured out it was my bladder and it had also pushed Amies head out of the pelvis and she was laying transvers. Once they got the 900cc out of my bladder with in 15 min Amie went back down to her -3 station. The had decited to keep a cathader in me all night and it was a good thing they did they got another 1700cc out of me within 3 hours.
I was crushed when tehy started talking about sending me home because I was not going past 3cm. I feel as if my body failed me and I could not even give birth to my child. I go tomarrow to find out if I ahve prograssed any and to see where we go from here. I will be 40+1 weeks and I don't want to go past 42 weeks. I think Amie is about 9.5-10 lbs now and she will only get bigger. I will let you all know what is going on when I get the time tomarrow( if I am not in the hospital) I don't know if this is going to wind up in a c-section or not. Thanks  |
Hang on, Turt, it won't be much longer.
Amie! You are barking up the wrong tree, missy. Don't you ever pull a stunt like that again! If all the kids were refusing to exit the womb, how would you feel? Huh? Oh sure, it's funny now! It's all fun and games until someone loses an eye! Now you get your little tail upstairs to bed and no horsing around! Do you hear me? Do you? Yikes. :o Now and then a little maternal instinct slips out! :o |
Aww poor thing. I am so sorry you are still preggers!
That kid is just not coming out! She likes it in there! Good luck tomorrow! We'll be praying for you. I am sure we can scrounge up a chicken to sacrifice if that doesn't work. Maybe do a little dance, I'm in the:D mood for some chanting... Good luck! |
Hang on...she will be here soon!
|
sue,
if amie is in a transverse lie position they will have to do a c-section to deliver her. she's probably too big to try to turn her. either way you will deliver her and be her mom. remember to take pride in that. you've gotten her this far and you'll take care of her thru her birth. i'm rooting for you. good luck tomorrow. |

Aww...Sue. I'm sorry this is taking so long. I know how you feel. My youngest son Kevin did the same thing to me. He was late and wound up weighing over 10 pounds. But...it was all worth it after he was here. I hope things go well for you and the next time you update it will be with little Amie in your arms.
|
My last baby was transverse. I went into labor, got to the hospital
ready for my c-section and he had moved. Two hours before I had been checked and he hadnt moved. cool. Sooooooooo keep your fingers crossed and I will keep praying for that last minute move. |
Good Luck today Sue, I really hope today is the day for Amie to arrive!!!
Amie, you need to listen to AMN, believe me it is for your own good!!! |
Hang in there Turtle, you have Debbies and my POSITIVE VIBRATIONS, our prayers and thoughts, you know this kid is never going to want to come of of their room when they grow up:rolleyes:, at least you will know why:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:
:hug:Turtle:hug: |

|
Sending prayers our little Aimie decides to make her appearance today!

Wishing you the best through L&D.... |
i'm thinking of you both.
|
A transverse lie?
Who told you that you could complicate things even more dear sweet little little Amie? Huh? Don't you know that over two hundred aunties here on NT has been waiting patiently for your debut for over 2 weeks now, (and a couple of uncles as well) and now your poor mom might need a Caesar to get you out? Not to worry! As long as you and your mom are OK , then we'll all be OK too. We're all waiting for your safe delivery dear sweet angel. We can't wait to meet you! |
Are ya here yet? Hello? Baby? Maybe?
|
Maybe no news is good news, tonight..:) I hope so!!!

Sorry it took so long to get back to you and let you know what is going on but I have been cleaning. We are going into the hospital tomarrow and we are going to be induced for the 3nd time. This time we will be coming home with her no matter what. If things don't progress then I will be going in for a c-section (she is now head down). I am going to hold off on the pain meds for as long as possable and I am going to be walking, using the birthing ball, and tub just to keep things moving and me relaxed. I am now 75% effaced and a full 3cm almost 4cm and Amie is at the -2 now and everything is moving where it should be. I am hoping that things go quick tomarrow and she comes by the afternoon but, I won't hold my breath on it. She is one girl that everyone is looking forward to seeing including the Doc and Nurses. I ahve teh nurces in my doc office that are going to be coming up to see her. They ahve been placing bets on when she is going to come. I think we are up too 20 chocolate bars now.
I will update everyone shortly after I get home from the hospital and settled in. |
