Hope I'm doing the right thing

Either things have gotten a lot more complicated or I have slowed down to pretty much of a standstill since the last time I was in an Internet forum. If my memory serves me (that's a joke) it has been six or seven years since my last foray into a Parkinson's forum. I don't remember it being this hard to figure out how to post a message. Does a newbie post a new thread right off the bat? I was a long standing member of the forum I was in and I'm hoping I might find a familiar voice in this community. We'll see.

Before I sign off for the night I must tell you that complications notwithstanding, I am really very excited about being here tonight. In a strange way I have this feeling of coming home. I made a lot of friends,in that forum, those many years ago and I hope that I can do so once more.

So while I'm learning my way around I'll be visiting with you all. I'm open to discussion of any kind. Parkinson's is my big thing, but I am right on with the little things - which are most important in our lives.

Hopefully,

BC

Hi Bob and welcome to NeuroTalk.

I'm really pleased to meet you and although I don't have PD myself, we have a great Parkinson's Forum here with many wonderful people who do.

I hope you find a familiar face, or should I say .... familiar name :D

Here's the link straight to the group just incase you've not been there yet to introduce yourself. http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/forum34.html

Welcome Bob!

I had a heckuva time trying to figure out how to post too. But looks like you've got it figured out. :)

I'm sure you'll make some good friendships on this board. There are so many great and supportive people here.

I don't have PD, but I know there is a good forum here. You can jump in anywhere, though.

Introduction continued

Please, if you see me doing something wrong, holler at me. Like am I supposed to be replying to my own posting.

After that first flush of excitement, two nights ago, I awoke the next morning and jumped right into the forum. And an odd thing happened. I got cold feet. I remembered that I dropped out of the forum I was in and I remembered those guilt feelings. I was a deserter. I'm thinking that the onus is still with me. I want to thank those of you who were kind enough to welcome me aboard. My feet are warming.

I haven't gone into the Parkinson's forum yet. The trepidation must be overcome.

Keeping these postings short. So many things I want to say. Got to figure out where to say it all. Been through a lot and I have got to figure out how much of it was covered in the past. Started reseaching past messages and so many memories have come to life. Not that they were dead but they were definitely dormant.

Enough for now. Just wanted to keep the spirit going.

You're doing nuffin' wrong Bob and no... you don't have to reply to your own posts!

Take the time to have a good look around the boards. We have lots of Forums that might interest you. You might like Social Chat : http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/forum35.html

Or.... Computers and Technology : http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/forum36.html

Or even the Lighter Side where people posts their jokes and things. http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/forum63.html

I hope you'll find something here to take your interest. I can assure you that you're about to meet a whole lot of very special people.

Don't forget to drop into the PD Forum soon and say hello.
