Let me out, let me out!!!!

How many mental health professionals does it take to fix one person?

Answer: 3

Seriously, how screwed up are you when it takes 3? Apparently I am going to find out   :o :ranting:

And, I seem sooo normal. Personally, I think normal is over-rated :ROTFLMAO:

If I'm not heard from for a long period of time just go ahead and assume I'm in a nice quiet padded room :Crazy 2:

Oh, and lets not forget about my newest book, recommended by my Psychiatrist.....Children of the self-absorbed; A grown-ups guide to getting over Narcissistic parents :yahoo:

As many of you know I have a very warped sense of humor and it's obviously showing up now :Dancing-Chilli:

Ah Snoopy,
Don't forget, it's their job to find stuff wrong and in everyone, there's always something. When a boss does a worker evaluation, it's his/her job to find something wrong, so they always do. Hey, they get evaluated too!!! It looks good for them.

At least you are up to being fixed. I have given up and settled for being broken! I do hope you feel better soon. I really miss your presence on the board.

Hey Snoops, I love your sense of humor!

Looking forward to having you back! Hurry home!

Ha! I took my kid in for her first appointment yesterday and her shrink recommended I get one too.

Don't forget your insurance may be willing to cover all 7 dwarfs. I would ask for a second opinion from the other 4.

You karack me up, Snoops! Your'e normal, it's everyone else that's warped and in need of therapy. Your post reminded me of how many Dr's does it take to change a lightbulb?? ha! Take care LA~ your'e nevah alone around here.

Snoop, snoop, snoop! You just miss our early morning IMs! If it takes 3 to fix you I'd hate to think how many it would take for me and a few others I can think of.

What in the heck are they doing for you? Keep in touch and let us know what is going on.

ewizabeth 11-12-2008 01:17 PM

Hope you feel better soon Snoopy. You do have a great sense of humor, and that will help you get through this! :hug:Remember that laughter is the best medicine. :)

Ok, I found the book title hilarious. It's obviously a "self-help" book, right? I mean, it IS about self-absorption. And what could be better than a little self-reflection about self-absorption in a book in which YOU help YOU get over having dealt with Narcissistic parents. D'ya think there's something wrong with that premise?

Sort of like an "Drinking: a guide for children of alcoholics" or "Tall tales: stories of pathological liars."

Maybe it's not YOU who needs the help. Ya consider that? Maybe the three of them can't do it alone--they're co-dependent when it comes to therapy.

I would call it a self-help book but it wasn't in the self-help section. I found it in the Psychology section :icon_rolleyes:

I'm glad to know many found this funny :) If I can keep my sense of humor no matter how warped then I know I'm fine (fine? yeah right :p). It's when I lose my sense of humor that I know I'm in big trouble.

Brenda, right now I'm not sure anyone is doing anything for me except triggering crap I thought was done and over. I feel like I'm :deadhorsebeat:

At least my Psychiatrist isn't telling me I'm depressed . The newest addition (therapist) I see on Friday - I bet that will be fun :Crazy 2:

Many of your responses have made me laugh and I thank each of you for understanding that sometimes there's nothing we can do when life becomes overwhelming but....Laugh :ROTFLMAO:

Gazelle 11-13-2008 09:16 PM

:) When I stop laughing I'm hoping that I'll be dead. Not sure I'll make it through life any other way. So yeah, I hear ya about the laughing part.

Talk about triggering stuff you thought you were over.... I went for a psych eval because the one neuro I saw in January wanted to rule out depression as a cause of some of my sx. So the psych doc and I meet a few times and one day we really get into stuff about my parents--both alcoholics when I was young and my mom may still be drinking. It stirred up loads of stuff and I couldn't sleep at all. Next visit I told him that there was only one thing off limits for discussion--my issues with my parents. He just laughed and said that from the expression on my face he knew that THAT was going to be what flapped me and he was ok with not going there. Been there, worked through it myself, and have come to grips with it. Don't need to discuss minutae of it again and relive it all. :vomit2: Living it once was quite enough, thank you very much and I felt quite the same way as you with the horse! (BTW, he said no to depression and causing sx, which was good to hear)

Hang in there, Snoopy.
