Georgia GTG!!!!!
 

Hey there all you Gawga NT members......we're gonna have us a shindig!!

Twinkletoes (Rochelle) is going to be coming to Georgia with her DH in December and we'd like to plan a GTG.

We'd like to meet for lunch on Wednesday, December 3rd. She will be staying in Alpharetta but we talked about it and think Duluth is a more centralized location to meet and easily accessible to I-85 from both the north and the south.

How does The Olive Garden on Pleasant Hill Road in Duluth sound to everyone? Maybe meet there about 11:30 AM so we can beat the lunch crowd and get a good table. They have unlimited soup, salad and breadsticks for a pretty reasonable price plus you can still order off the menu if you want something else. Feel free to offer other suggestions if this doesn't work for you.

I hope there will be lots of NTers who can make it.....I want to meet everybody!!

I've PM'ed and emailed everyone I could think of that might want to come in case they didn't see the invite.

Kelly - I so wish I could have done it. It's just too close to Christmas and although the tickets were inexpensive (around $200) I thought better of it because of the holidays. Of course, I'd also have the expense of hotels and meals.

Twink - I was going to call you and let you know as well as just to chat. I did talk to Bird not too long ago and I'm sure I let her know as well.

Aww, Tricia, I was so looking forward to meeting you. :( Maybe over the summer sometime....after the gas prices hold low for a while....you can plan a getaway. But, I totally understand your reasons. I have to watch every cent that leaves my hand. We'll be thinking of you.....hey, maybe you can call us while we're there and join in "virtually"!! :)

I so wish I could go and meet you all but it's too far for me unfortunately, it would be a 10 and a half hour plane journey lol.

hmmmm, The Olive Garden, never been to one of those, and I haven't yet found a place around here that makes real salads...

all day I'll be daydreaming of lasagna, spaghetti, cannoli, ravioli, linguini with clam sauce, yummy yum yum!

Belize has "German" restaurants and Chinese (due to immigrants), but alas, no Italian cuisine.

I just figured 11:30 would help us beat the lunch rush and give us more time to visit. And....if we get finished early there's a mall behind the restaurant that's been calling my name for quite a while now....it'd be rude of me not to answer....wouldn't it? :o

In all honesty, I haven't been to the mall in a l-o-n-g time....just cannot handle all the walking (and spending). Not having any money really is quite annoying! :rolleyes:

Frank, you are so right: GTGs ARE good for the soul. Not sure if I would have accompanied my DH on this biz trip if not for the GTG.

The GTGs are definitely the best part about having MS!!!

I will be there via phone. You guys will be 2 hours ahead of me so it will work out great. I'll call someone's cell (won't say who) around 12 Georgia time.

Still wish it would have worked out that I could be there.:(

well deb and I just got off the phone with moi, Rochelle(twink) and baxter(kim), sounds like a good GTG everyone is talking at same time lol kind of like the first one we had Jim and i never finished a conversation lol kept being redirected plus watching sandy run from bees, now that was fun sounded like all were having a wonderful time, was nice to be able to wish Kelly a happy birthday personally

GTG Update!!
 

Got home a bit ago from the GTG....what a blast! Moi showed up......I was on the phone with him and couldn't hear him well (he was standing right behind me!!) so I handed the phone back to Twink because I thought it had disconnected. Next thing I knew he was sitting down beside me!

There was BaxterTheBunny, Twink, LydiaLou (from MSW), EJValentine (from MSW), Moi and me. We had alot of fun and took alot of pictures.....but I cannot find the cable needed to post them! I'll have to wait for one of the boys to get home to find it for me. I promise once I have it I'll post the ones I have - probably in my profile album. I think most of them turned out well......I am NOT photogenic (always look fat!! gee...wonder why?! :eek:) and hate having my picture taken but I was outnumbered!! At one point we had a complete stranger taking pictures with all our different cameras!! I thought he worked there but he told me he was just on his way to the bar! :o

I got to talk to Frank, Deb, Tricia, Wiz and SoxMom!! I can't believe how many people we had on the phone at once! And while I was on the phone with Sox I heard Ed say something about crawling under my chair so I had to let her go at that point!! :eek: Don't worry...he didn't make it under there - and I don't think he would have fit!! Ed is such a sweetheart....he paid for all of our lunches! Thank you, Ed....and I'm so glad you could make it. It was truly a surprise!

I loved meeting everyone....it was a great way to spend my birthday. :)

I talked to Moi! LOL He felt bad and said he put his phone in his bag so he didn't hear it. Apparently I called at 1:10pm their time and it was over but if he had heard the phone they were in the waiting area saying bye. lmao

Hey Kelly - Thanks for the updated on the GTG! What a wonderful way to spend your birthday; surrounded by your NT friends.
