Just checking in

Had a hard weekend, tired now, but doing okay. We managed to make it the whole week somehow and tomorrow Jackie goes back to school. There is also good news in that I think I finished the first draft on the memoir. It's good stuff too. So I wanted to check in and let you all know I am going to be real busy this week editing and working with the behavior people and setting up another computer out here for Jackie. :D

Pam

This is all good news. I'm so glad you got the first draft finished.

Also good luck getting Jackie's computer set up.

Hi, Pam,
This is good that you had a productive weekend.
I hope that the home visits with the helper people go well too.

Things are better now that school is back in session, it's only during the holidays he wigs out so badly. I have a lot of work to do in getting the computer set up, I have to reformat this one with the new replacement HD we finally got before we left on our trip in October. Then reformat this old drive for Jackie, so that's my goals for today beyond shopping. Hopefully the Aid will be able to help with the after-school fidgetiness this kiddo fights. :)

My dearest online buddy, has a copy of the new memoir and loves it!~ So I am greatly encouraged to get through the editing process during December so I can shop this new memoir around by January when people will be looking for the newest next best thing since sliced bread. :D I feel better, but still worry about the future, Jack is worried too but he's at least able to defend himself from the outbursts that happen over holiday breaks. :p

Pam, it sounds like your going to be very busy. You sound like a computer whiz to be doing all that.

I am feeling much much better after hearing how well Jackie did yesterday in school. That and I talked with his teacher about the communication book we're working on, she said that they would gladly laminate some pages for me to help that goal come to fruition faster. We had a really awesome session with the new aid and the behavior analysist too. We got a stop sign now and I made two copies so one can go on the back of my chair and I can hold one to hold up to him and say "Stop! S-T-O-P!" which we hope can stop him from charging me.

That is until we get a picture card set up for his communication book with him asking to play chase. THe Behaviorist thinks that is what was behind it because I told her it wasn't like he was mad, he was laughing and playing when it happened. My neck is still kind of irritated but other then that things are going well. I am just happy that the school will help us get these pages I printed up yesterday (Mother bought me a all-in-one printer for an early birthday present) laminated so we can cut out the cards and start using his new schedule set up. :D

Just to show you an example:

http://trainland.tripod.com/pecs5.htm

You can see one there I am really excited about, the very last one on the right, about wiping bottom. I think we're going to get this boy to be independent before too much longer. He wants to take care of himself so that is what we'll be playing off of, and banking on. That his desire to grow up and be like Daddy will help him to get over the laziness he has about wiping his butt butt...LOL! I definitely don't feel so down now, and think that we'll be able to get through this next holiday break all right as long as the new aid and I keep working together to help Jackie learn what we're expecting of him.

And it's not really that much, just that he stops when the sign is used, that he starts asking to engage in play rather then just throwing himself at us. Small things like that which can make all the difference in the quality of our home life. :D

I feel better, but Jackie got up at 3:45 again, I was up at 4 am puking, I just felt sick to my stomach and thank god I got up, it's awful to barf like that moments after waking up. :p Last night he spilled a LOT of soda on my stupid keyboard so I had to take it fully apart and clean it inside and out to make it work again. He didn't mean it of course, but it's just frustrating he doesn't pay enough attn to what he's doing at times that accidents like that happen.

Mom came over and worked on the memoir and I think she was right about the chronological ordering she asked me to fix, which I have and we'll see now how she feels about it. She didn't really offer much feeback since she was editing for grammar and the like it's not like she was actively reading, I hope she can come by again this week and go over more. :D

I have given out like three copies of the new memoir and no one has finished reading it yet so I am chewing on my nails....LOL! I hope that Jackie continues to do better. This morning I was in the bathroom and he was about to snag my chair and so I used the aid coming over and taking us to the park as blackmail to keep him from messing with my chair, taking it away from me again. And the great thing is that it worked. :D

Maybe things will get better and stay better, I definitely live in that hope now. :)

It's definitely coming along nicely. :D And I hope it was just something I ate. :p Had a nice day today and got a lot done, but Jackie was up so early he was exhausted by dinner. LOL! :D
