Prayers for my son valued

my son and other members of the college & career group from our church have left to drive up to Atlanta GA where they will be helping with Operation Christmas Child till saturday

there is very bad weather stretched from florida to georgia and they wont get there till around 1-2am. Please pray for the group leader to be alert and careful driving the van
and for their safe journey and stay in atlanta.

also that my son's health will stay good on the trip. this is the son who has tourette & crohn's and he maintains a very careful diet here but wont be able to be as diligent on this trip:o

thanks:grouphug:

thanks for praying for him and the rest of the team,

Blessings2You 12-10-2008 06:51 PM

I will be praying.

Alffe 12-10-2008 07:21 PM

I will also be praying dear friend.

The weather here has calmed down quite a bit from what it was earlier. I think they're just expecting rain tonight and tomorrow.....no more storms. All the tornado watches and warnings have expired.

Where will they be staying? I'm northeast of Atlanta by about 50 miles.

They're all in my prayers for a safe trip up here and then back home. :)

Chemar 12-10-2008 07:35 PM

Thanks Kelly  that is reassuring to know the weather up there has begun to calm. the stormfront is still on it's way to us so they will likely encounter some along the way

they are staying near the airport as that is where the Op Christmas Child warehouse is. they left around 5.30pm

we had 85 degr here today and very very muggy so we are likely in for some bumpy weather....plus my garage door decided to jam  in the 3/4 closed position and I cannot get it to budge and the repair guy dint show. hoping my friends up the road get my message and come help us close it...he is a real handyman person and may find a way just to get it closed for me till repairman shows

I will be praying that they all get there safe and sound and that your son will have good health.

I have a nephew who has had crohn's since he was 10 he is now 21 so i know the difficulty that they may have.

Sending prayers your way.

I am so happy that he arrived safely and called to tell you so... :) I will be praying for him and the whole group for their safe return home. I understand he has to be careful with his diet and so I hope he finds healthy food to eat. Good and nutritious!

It doesn't matter how old our kids are they will always be our babies. Now a days our son (31) and daughter (33) are use to me calling them my baby boy/girl.

Keep us update Chemar

sending positive thoughts...

I will send some positive thoughts too.

I sure remember when my son drove ALONE across the country to visit friends in Guelph (? spelling) Canada, and then the next summer he drove to Boston. My heart was in my throat on those trips. A young man crossing the border with bottles of supplements? We even sent a letter with him, because we had heard the customs were detaining young men sometimes.
But it all worked out!

I hope your son has a good time!

Oh, I didn't get from the website where exactly the boxes were heading. That's nice to know. What kid wouldn't be thrilled to receive a shoebox full of goodies? Wish I had known about this sooner.
