Which Store is Your Favorite

Now that I am finished with my online Christmas shopping, I found that I learned a few lessons. Places that are shopper friendly :) and those that are NOT..

Target was my favorite, I received all my packages, in a timely fashion, all wrapped and ready to put under the tree.

Amazon was also great at having everything wanted and oranizing it all to be sent by different providers, in a timely fashion. No wrapping, though..:(

E-toys was ok and has been great in the past, but a little slow and couldn't wrap the things I purchased.

All the candy and food purchases were great, too.

Places I will never shop in, again...ever....
Webkiz Toys
Best Buy
Walmart

How were your shopping experiences? Good? OK? Bad?

:D

Our local AMPM gas station is my favorite (because that is where I get my java and paper each morning)!

As for retail stores...I am clueless.

My favorite place was Amazon.com. They have Target there too and Toys R Us! They do offer gift wrapping but I think it's for certain stores that offer it. Oh and I got free second day shipping the whole season!

My favorite is Barnes and Noble. Books and books and .... more books!!

Yah, I go to others... but ... all I can think of is ... ;) books!

I like Barnes and Noble and Borders because I too am a bookworm. Amazon is great for items I just cannot seem to find and The Animal Rescue Site is a favorite place for me because they are timely and have all kinds of deals plus they help out our 4 legged friends. Bought lots of great gifts from them.

I refuse to go near WalMart until after Christmas. We have a super target next to my house (it's just as bad as Walmart). I love love love 5 below, and we have a place called Justice which is just for girls and has all kinds of cool stuff. Online stores I use: Ebay/Amazon...and I found a new one Proxibid which has amazingly expensive stuff for super cheap as the sellers don't really know how to determine value.

IKEA had the best customer service. I bought a gift card for my daughter. You can't get them online. The lady I talked to on the phone was great.

We got a delivery from walmart. my daughter was surprised on how fast it arrived, but she was disappointed that they don't wrap. :D so I know what our family gift is.

In the past, Target was one of my favorites to order online and have it shipped to family.

I've found that Amazon and Land's End are both good to deal with.

I'm a Swiss colony addict, lol! All started with my grandmother. The petite fours are to die for!!! :Starvin: And it's never Christmas to me without them.

SandyC 12-19-2008 01:32 PM

Curious, Walmart wraps for you. It's on the order page maybe with the shipping? It's a tiny little box. lol

Great thread - thanks for starting!:)

Mine and my mums favourite online shop is Amazon. They seem to have everything that we need for people of all ages and the items that we ordered arrived pretty quickly also!

I like Toys R Us online also - they have everything that we want for the kids in our family and everything seems to arrive really quick and on time.

Another place that we like is LX Direct (i'm not sure if they have that in the US) - they sell everything and have really nice clothes and have a gift wrapping service if you want everything wrapping up!

I don't know what we would do without online shopping - especially now that I am ill and can't go out that much - it's the best and SO convinient!!

Vonn07 12-19-2008 01:49 PM

don't feel bad .. but, I do not like shopping of any kind .. run in, buy, run out ... whew!

except, of my favorites?? do I have to?? well..... okay --->>>

QUILT SHOPS

gosh, willackers ... I get lost in la-la land there .. anywhere there's a quilt shop ... I'll FIND it!!

Sally,

Since Tania has access to this site I do not want to let the cat out of the bag.

She will be VERY happy.

*One a side note, it seems that when you stick you neck out to do something good, something good happens in return...and we just got a new contract for a job which will more than cover the cost of the gift!

I was alarmed when I saw Vic's suicidal post (see #2 on this thread), so I sent him this link: http://bewareofthedoghouse.com/VideoPage.aspx that Doody posted elsewhere.

I think I may have saved his marriage, lol!!!

They have the BEST petite fours!!!!!!

My grandmother used to order me boxes of them every year for Christmas and I had completly forgotten about that until you posted this. Thanks!

Too funny Twinks. Good save! Now hide it so Vic's wife doesn't see it. lol

Did you all know that if you have AAA for your car you can also get discounts at some online shopping sites? Target is one of them! Just go to AAA's site (www.aaa.com) and see what they have. Shocked the stuffing out of me!

I shopped completely online...JC Penney, Gap, Walmart, Amazon toys. I know I'm getting one gift of money from my parents and I plan to show up at Anthropologie and buy some lamps I saw there. :)

Happy, happy everyone! :)

This year Mom placed orders with "Harry and David" online. They are usually a bit expensive but had good sales and the package she ordered sent here is just beautiful with pears, apples and lots of goodies! Also; it had a $10.00 gift card to use on a future order.

I ordered from LLBean and Kohls.com (clearances) for the first time and got the items right away.

Sure beats going shopping this time of year.

For my son and family in Ohio it's a check so they can buy what they and the Granddaughters like. The girls are 12 and 17 so I have NO idea what to get them.

We shop for ourselves in January!:D

That's another thing we have in common Vonn! I hate and detest shopping!

My DH has always done at the shopping at our house for that very reason, and it behoves me to have to do the grocery shopping now that he's laid up.

I want him better soon for many reasons, and I assure you the shopping is up there towards the top of th list. :D

legzzalot 12-19-2008 03:51 PM

whatever happened to the days when you could call the grocery store and they would deliver your order??

ewizabeth 12-19-2008 05:21 PM

Amazon.com is my favorite hands down. :) I don't order my presents wrapped though. For walk in stores I like JCPenney and maybe Target for gifts. I like Zappos.com and shoebuy.com for shoes and boots. Landsend.com (women's clothes) and llbean.com (men's clothes)

Legzz, What about Peapod?

Blessings2You 12-19-2008 06:02 PM

Amazon is my absolute favorite, for quality, ease of use, speed of shipping, and price.

tkrik 12-19-2008 06:14 PM

Vonn & Koala - We must all be of the same mold. LOL I hate to shop and always have. I can think of a million better things to do than shop. However, like you Vonn, put me in an art store and/or bookstore and I am good. I love going to Borders, browse for a while, and then sit and have a cup of coffee. At an art store, I can browse and think of all the things one can create if they had all those colors and tools and paper, etc.

janlici - Thank you so much for the AAA tip. I do have a AAA membership. I'll have to check out their site from the link you posted.

doydie 12-20-2008 12:37 AM

I've never done any online shopping except last year when I couldn't find the Fisher Price digital camera and just ordered it from Fisher Price. Do these places charge delivery or shipping or whatever it's called.

I also use my AAA card at Pizza Hut and Pay Less shoes all the time.
