I just went out again its still cloudy, but as I gazed around there was a section of clouds that were strongly illuminated from behind, the clouds were really bright

Coool. Thanks for sharing your picture with us. I love when the moon turns orange and lays so low it seems you can touch it. We don't see it much but when it happens it's beautiful.

The moon is at its closest to earth for this full moon..You're right, it's beautiful! Just had a long drive home from Fargo, and it's almost daylight outside. There's a huge ring around the moon tonight, too.Great picture!

I took some more pics at various intervals last night

none were with a flash cuz it was soooo bright

the craters showing earlier in the evening were amazing and the ring around the moon later was so cool:D

They're great, Chemar. Thank you.

I raced out to get one last night but the batteries had died in my camera and so I took one with my mobile phone lol, but it just looks like this tiny little white dot on a black screen. Needless to say I stuck the batteries in the charger.

Awesome Chemar! Those are great pics. If I take the dogs out at night, I always look for the moon. There's something about it that's just mesmerizing. Sometimes it's things like those pics that make us stop and think about our world. Thank you for sharing them w/us.

Full moon...

I can never sleep well during a full moon!

Several years ago we had a full moon set over the lake...
it was just amazing about 4am.

For some reason I couldn't sleep as usual so I went out on the dock to check the boat and found this:
I had my own camera and did other shots. This one was done
by my husband with his camera. So much depends on the weather, etc to catch this event. I have noticed that the moon sets at other times, so it must be a many year cycle to hit what we saw. This is NOT a digital camera shot.
And was done just as the sun was rising behind us. It was a lucky thing to have that
cement freighter there just at that moment!

I should scare up my setting ones maybe today... I have one with the moon on the horizon. But it is not as good as the one my hubby took. This one was taken with a telephoto lens on his Nikon SLR film camera. I seem to recall he steadied on the dock to get the long exposure.

This was about the time of the morning that the fishermen go out. I bet they see
spectacular things some days! The deep water out there where the moon is setting is where the salmon are.

LOL...Who knew? I was born there almost 49 yrs ago..In fact, my dad was on the construction crew that build St Luke's Hospital, where I was born..I think it's called MeritCare or something like that now..

Another beautiful picture, Chemar!
