I had a dream.

I dreamt I was trying to get with Bret Michaels from the band Poison. :p I was being just as stupid as those girls on the tv reality show but damn he was hot! Anyway, I go to watch something on a hill with him. We lay on our stomachs to watch whatever it was and I told him I can't date him because I was married.

He totally understood and "poof" he was gone. Then I turn around and there is Jim none the wiser thank goodness. :D So, we get on a roller coaster ride with one of the band members I think, he was creepy looking. The seat fits three so we sat together. We start and wouldn't you know it? MY seat bar flipped up and away I go flying and holding on for dear life! :yikes: I'm yelling for the ride to stop. Jim and this guy freeze and go into a catatonic state and can't even help me. :p So, I pull myself back into my seat and "poof" there I go again falling out. I am about to lose my grip when the ride ends.

I get off the ride and start to laugh. I turn to look at the guy and he has a very very serious look on his face as if he can't believe I am laughing. I look at Jim and he's laying on the seat in a complete daze. Is he freaked out from the ride and me almost falling? It was then I remembered he can't walk. :( I was thinking is he laying there because he can't walk or is he passed out? I woke up startled and felt so bad. I felt guilty for even having the dream even though I know it was out of my control.

:Dunno: How weird is that dream???????? Why would I be trying to date someone I would clearly not be with in my lifetime. OK, maybe once but not as a lifetime partner. :p Why did we go from one thing to another so fast. Maybe it means I secretly want to escape to that island Momma wants to go to? Or maybe it means sometimes I feel like I am on a roller coaster and it wont stop?:rolleyes:

Either way, it seems funny now. But when I woke up I felt like confessing! :ROTFLMAO::ROTFLMAO::ROTFLMAO:

For those who don't know Bret here is a pic of him now:

dreams are so funny and wierd sometimes..sometimes scarey...
sometimes they have bits of life mixed into them and other times total not something from life.

wierd they are!! so you and brett huh....hehehe

I bet roller coaster could have popped in, as life sometimes is so roller coaster like...and yes why not use it as a reminder for island time. You deserve island time and so does Jim. (but not brett haha)

take care and thanks for sharing the silly dream, hugss, sarah

sabimax 01-11-2009 06:54 PM

weegot5kiz 01-11-2009 07:00 PM

Sandy with all you do in a day, dont fret none girl, its just a release plus maybe you got some concerns lately that are gnawing at you, new fears ect.... As for guilt you have no right to feel that way, you have nothing to feel guilty about, I have seen first hand how you care for Jim, didnt we touch this on another thread you are an angel, you and many other caregivers

FinLady 01-11-2009 07:04 PM

Sounds a little like lucid dreaming. I have dreams that change like that when I seem to doubt what's going on. (kinda like when you told the hottie you were married.) It's kinda weird when it happens, since the brain seems to be like "alright, here's something even more odd for ya"

I'll give one of the less weird examples - and believe me I have some really strange ones. :Crazy 2: I was being attacked by something once, fought back saying "this isn't real", and then my dream switched to my being in an airplane made of cotton candy and bubble gum being flown by a spider.

Yes, I have issues, LOL! :p:D

SandyC 01-11-2009 07:05 PM

Frank, I am not scared of anything, I am not stressed or worried at all. That's what made it so weird. Oh well, I dated Bret Michaels if only for a second or two. lol

weegot5kiz 01-11-2009 07:05 PM

can we say too many rum balls Fin:p

OMG that has to be the funniest dream I have ever heard! :p

SandyC 01-11-2009 07:11 PM

Haha! I just told Jim the dream and he asked why he didn't kick Bret Michael's butt? I told him because he didn't know. Then he asked why were we on the rollar coaster? I said I don't know. He asked we were on it with a band member? I said I don't know, I think so. I said maybe we were at his house for a party or something.

Sheesh. lol

DM 01-11-2009 08:20 PM

Ah Sandy~ I truly do think we are related. I have some really weird dreams and they usually happen if I wake up early and go back to sleep. I have had one particular dream many times and it's is so strange that I won't bore anyone w/it. Needless to say, it did not involve Johnny Depp!! Dang it!! Now, that dream would warrant repeating. *sigh*

Sometimes I will dream about someone if I hear their name or haven't seen them in a while.

I used to have night terrors and was always "looking for something" according to my DH who had to get me out of the closet a few times. Nighttime medication has ceased those... *thank goodness*

FOr the record~ I think Jim could've taken him.

weegot5kiz 01-11-2009 08:22 PM

so DM youve come out of the closet?:yikes:

how would you get in there sleep walk? or dream walk?

Are you sure we're not related? I suffered for years with night terrors. I would jump up and run and run and run. Jim frequently had to come and find me to make sure I didn't run out the door. The last one I had was years ago when he found me sitting on the washing machine with the door closed. I knew I was running from something, just didn't know what.

When I was a kid I had them all the time. So bad my mom was scared to let me sleep alone at times. I once climbed a second story window sill and started banging on the window to get out. Thank God she ran in to get me down before I broke the glass.

PS: I think Jim could have taken Bret too.

ok now my curiosity is peaked, do you wake up in fear and run and hide or is it part of the dream and then you wake up? my bro use to wander around and at the time i laughed, but looking back now as a parent, that had to be horrible on them with the worry of worse case scenarios

Night terrors are exactly what the name implies. The person gets up in a terror state and runs or finds a place to hide or something. No recollection of the dream usually. The night terrors can be dangerous when it happens alone.

weegot5kiz 01-11-2009 08:42 PM

and I thought our youngest sitting up eyes open sound asleep talking a laungage unknow to man was errie, I would have a motion sensor that would trigger a bell in my room for this I have not heard of this before, sleep walking yes but this dream terror, wow, thanks for explaining it to me

SandyC 01-11-2009 08:44 PM

Here is a good site that explains it better. http://www.nightterrors.org/

Night Terrors Symptoms: Sudden awakening from sleep, persistent fear or terror that occurs at night, screaming, sweating, confusion, rapid heart rate, inability to explain what happened, usually no recall of "bad dreams" or nightmares, may have a vague sense of frightening images. Many people see spiders, snakes, animals or people in the room, are unable to fully awake, difficult to comfort, with no memory of the event on awakening the next day.

I have to diagree on the last part though. I do recall things once I wake up and don't forget that Jim found me in the linen room on a washing machine. It's a moment of "whuh?" However, I do not remember the "dream" or whatever caused it.

DM 01-11-2009 08:51 PM

First things first~~ FRANKO??? SMACK!!!

My DH said that my eyes were always open and I would talk in a frantic manner about looking for something or someone. He'd find me in the closet or living room and finally got so he'd put his leg next to mine in bed in case I tried to bolt. Poor guy used to say that he had to sleep w/one eye open.

One time I told him there was someone outside our house and that they were planning to break in. Talk about poor DH looking like Barney Fife!!!! After I was dx'd w/a few things, the Dr put me on nightie night meds for my spasms and bye bye night terrors.

They did make for good party conversations, though.

SandyC 01-11-2009 08:52 PM

LOL DM, that sounds like my house. Jim said my eyes were wide open as I bolted.

I haven't taken any meds. The terrors just stopped all of a sudden. I hope I never have one again. The scary part is now that Jim takes nighty night meds he may not even know and if he does he can't get out of bed without help! :yikes:

oldsteve 01-12-2009 04:11 AM

Sigmund Freud would have a field day reading this thread. That's all I'm gonna say on the subject.

Kitty 01-12-2009 07:47 AM

Sandy, I read this thread before going to bed last night and dreamed that I was trying to tie a ribbon onto a huge bunch of helium balloons but needed help. Someone (I don't know who but it was a man) helped me by holding the strings to the balloons while I tied them all together. Don't know how I did that because I can't even tie shoelaces with my numb right hand. Anyway, once I got them tied together he let go of the strings and off I flew into the sky!!! Then I woke up. Good thing, too, because I'm afraid of heights!! :p
