So Glad to Have Found You
Good Morning,
I Found this site by doing a search on Google. I too have spine issues. In 1992 I had a disc rupture with spinal cord compression (severe) at the C5-C6 level after an accident which they fused. In 2004 they found that the discs above and below were failing plus interior bone spur again with spinal cord involvement. The neuro-surgeon basically rebuilt my neck with cadavior bone and titanium pins from C1-T2. Since that time I have had multiple problems with my hands, shoulders and fingers and have been diagnoised with Cervical Radiculopathy. I am curious if anyone else is has or is experiencing GI Problems that they can't explain? I have too many ER visits with no diagnosis even after CT Scans etc. They did say things weren't moving well and they did find a small amount of blood. Personally I am 50 years old engaged to a wonderful and patient man and have three four legged children. So glad your here and that I found this site. |
New Member
I saw this on the internet and I have been having SI problems and wanted to share stories with others that have the same problems. A lot of people who don't have these problems dont't understand the pain and frustration. Sharon

Follow thru with surgery?
After a particularly painful recurrence of arm & shoulder pain since herniating a cervical disc 8+ years ago, I located a highly respected minimally invasive surgeon. He says I'm a candidate for a minimally invasive foraminotomy on my C6-C7 correlating with my symptoms. That was a few weeks ago. Now I'm scheduled for surgery (out of state) and my symptoms have eased significantly with the exception of some tingling and numbness. Trying to figure out if I should go thru with it or wait. This has been my off & on pattern. Symptoms return. I do everything but surgery and eventually get better.

I had cervical radiculopathy and it gets worse unless you do physical therapy

Hello Curious from pap5

I originally joined NeuroTalk back in August and was trying to make contact with anyone who had recent spine surgery for spondylolisthesis (L5/S1) with severe nerve compression in the L5 root. The L5 vertebrea got fractured at some point (I'm not sure how) and, over the years I've developed a grade II slippage that has begun to damage a nerve. It is painful, but it's not the pain I want to manage....it's the actual nerve damage. (I'm now trying decompression therapy with a chiropracter). Anyway, my neurosurgeon says I am a candidate for spinal fusion of the L5/S1 vertebra. Supposedly, if successful, the outcome will be relief of the nerve pressure and hopefully allow my right leg to return to normal. I've got some muscle issues now because the nerve is not transmitting the proper signals to the calf muscle...and this condition just worsen's with time. If you or a member you know of, had this condition, I hope you will respond when you have time. Pap5 (63 year old kid, who still was playing baseball with the oldtimers until the injury set me back over a year ago.) |
