NW Flower & Garden Show Feb 18-22

I just made my reservations for the NW Flower and Garden Show in Seattle Feb 18-22!

I am excited! It's a bit of Spring in the midst of winter! I always enjoy going to this show. It's a chance for the landscape designers to show off what they can do and a chance to see the new products and plants for the upcoming season!

It's at the Seattle convention center. It's a huge show. The biggest one on the west coast in the Spring. I am staying at a my favorite hotel about 2 blocks from the convention center and flying into Seattle on the 18th, departing the 22nd.

Anyone interested in attending the show let me know and we can meet up! Tickets are available online on a daily basis or at the convention center.

At this point, I am going alone. A friend may join me over the weekend, but not sure yet.

Will you have any entries?

That sounds fantabulous. The seed and bulb catalogues are already arriving and I can almost smell dirt. I'm SO ready for spring I could cry.

Iread your post and ran into the living room and said to dh " Can I go tot the flower show in WA? My board buddy is gonna be there!"

He says "You know how cold it is there!?!?!"

I pulled back the curtain and pointed to the 9 million feet of snow outside, "Yeah, it's downright balmy here."

:p

Okay, not 9 million feet of snow.

Just a million.

:o

You have fun, Flowergirl. I can't wait to see your pix.

I think a beautiful slate wall would look wonderful in your display!

My favorite restaurant is in Seattle...they have the best Creme Brulee in the world! Yes, we will have food! I always eat well in Seattle! Seafood galore! And lots of places for hamburgers for Twiffy!

Oh yes, and there is a world famous bar there with a wall of liquor. There is a famous painting done of this place and right this moment both the painter and the painting escape me...LeRoy Neiman did the painting of F.X. McCrory Whiskey Bar. It's a really cool painting.

Someone help me out here...didn't he paint the Brainiff plane?

Alexander Calder...painted the Braniff airplane.

Lucky you FG!

I just heard on the local news tonight that one of the big flower shows here in Maine is cancelled due to lack of funding and lower attendance in the past few years.

I'd do a display of edible landscaping if I had a spot...how to eat your yard! It would be a BIG hit in these times!:D :Rich::party dollar:

Taffy 01-28-2009 07:40 PM

leave Shaps a trail of mints......

They make them in flower shapes you know.:D

She does want some advice on redoing her yard. Edible plants would be a good idea, but I think in her heat, mint flowers would melt...

*smack* silly me! They wouldn't be out there long enough to melt! LOL!

Taffy 01-28-2009 09:57 PM

An edible yard? Wow! Shaps would never leave. The flower show or her yard, snicker...snicker... Hey, I am starting to feel a sick. Like, maybe I could be sick on Friday the 20th. I look sick don't I? You wanna taste flowers right Shaps? How about a Pine tree? I think we should drag the Princess through the Garden Show and pretend to feed her just to hear her whine. She is so cute!:D

Look...:D see...I am getting green. I am sick for sure!

We had heard that rumor so you are not the first one to pass on the news! And I would never kick you or hurt you!

Hopefully it will be well attended.

Cannot figure out why it is being ended other than funding - sign of the times I guess. It's too bad b/c this is one of the few places where we can get out CLEs for licensing. I wonder how they are going to work out that program???? Oh well, I guess WE are going to have to figure that out on our own now. Just make it harder for us who are licensed to stay current. Yep...that's it. Well, I guess since most states don't require us to BE licensed, it really doesn't matter. :(

It's a great show anyway! I will be there! To say goodbye! Maybe there will lots of good shopping deals! Look on the bright side! ;)
