who moi 01-26-2009 11:38 PM

while we're at it...

if someone was to run nekkid through the forest, would you see it???

Koala77 01-26-2009 11:49 PM

What you were looking for Moi, is the Witch Doctor, and it goes like this.....

I told the witch doctor
I was in love with you
I told the witch doctor
I was in love with you
And then the witch doctor
He told me what to do

He said that

Ooo eee,ooo ah ah ting tang
Walla walla, bing bang
Ooo eee ooo ah ah ting tang
Walla walla bing bang...
Ooo eee ,ooo ah ah ting tang
Walla walla ,bing bang
Ooo eee ooo ah ah ting tang
Walla walla bing bang

I told the witch doctor
You didn't love me true
I told the witch doctor
You didn't love me nice
And then the witch doctor
He game me this advice

He said that

chorus...

You've been keeping love from me
Just like you were a miser
And i'll admit i wasn't very smart
So i went out and found myself
A guy that's so much wiser
And he taught me the way to win your heart.

My friend the witch doctor
He taught me what to say
My friend the witch doctor
He taught me what to do
I know that you'll be mine
When i say this to you

chorus...

My friend the witch doctor
He taught me what to say
My friend the witch doctor
He taught me what to do
I know that you'll be mine
When i say this to you

Oh baby
Ooo eee,ooo ah ah ting tang
Walla walla, bing bang
Come on and
Ooo eee ooo ah ah ting tang
Walla walla bing bang...
Ooo eee ,ooo ah ah ting tang
Walla walla ,bing bang
Ooo eee ooo ah ah ting tang
Walla walla bing bang

"Witch Doctor" was labeled as being by "The Music Of David Seville", who was actually jazz musician Ross Bagdasarian. It was immensely popular in the spring of 1958.

LOL anne,

I love the witch doctor but people have debated with me over the Oo ee oo ah ah part even though we would listen to it together (this has been since my college days. LOLOL)

Am teaching the grandmoisses it, they love it...I still love it...it's been my earworm the past week or so....

I didn't know David Seville REALLY was the original singer..wow, I just LOVE Alvin the the Chipmunks (The original series)

hey, look what I found! :D

Witch Doctor

(forgive me for not being able to get serious at the moment, folks...I have a mixed mixed emotion at the moment and the best way for me right now is being silly... :) )

I was wrong too, but I couldn't get it out of my head, so I had to look it up even if only to shut the noises in my head up! :D

Lara 01-27-2009 12:11 AM

Oh, I said it wrong all those years!!!

I used to say 'oooh eeee oooh ahhh ahhh, bing bang walla walla bing bang.

I've been to Walla Walla.

If a person runs nekkid in the forest, does anyone see? Well, if a tree falls in the forest does anyone hear? You going all existential on us, moi??? The question is flawed. lol

I hope you're now armed with the correct version for your next debate... and I'm so glad the little ones are learning it. It's an excellent introduction to the arts! :D

For my own daughter's education about such things......I started her on Monty python, and the Rocky Horror Movie Show.

Many a midnight her and I would put the movie on and be armed with cigarette lighters, water pistols, newspapers and other such silly things.

OMG Anne,

between 1989 and 1991

A group of us would load up super soakers (a type of water gun that shoots very very far) with beer and there would be 20 of us in a pick up truck (talk about unsafe and stupid)

I didn't drank but loved the idea.

We'd drive an hour into town to where they would act out Rocky Horror Picture show and we'd shoot beer out during the rain scene...

We finally got kicked out after a few weekends...but they did let us back in without our supersoakers so we did get to enjoy the next few years...LOL it was one of those I was a stupid young man that did stupid things that I didn't really regret but knew it was stupid now but still smile when I think about it type of thing, ya know??

I still sing the Time Warp from time to time...LOLOL

Love Monty Python and when the grandmoisses are of age, they're going to get the Full Monty...wait...I would be too wrinkly by then...LMAO....

and one of those guys were actually the one I would argue over the Oo ee blah blah blah over with...LOLOLOL

if I can only find him now and get my $10.00...which by now, you add in inflation and such should be about $100.00 smackaroos...LOL

My b-i-l and I would say to each other: "Rock-ay...Oh Rock-ay" once in awhile and moss would have this "huh" look on her (she has NOT seen RHMS, ever, I'll have to school her on that...:D)

that's awesome, Anne, an endless TIME WARPed sense of humour (or in my American accent, humor, or Arnold S's accent, HUMAH) makes one want to jump to the left...

and...of course, the pelvic thrust...LOLOL

Koala77 01-27-2009 12:40 AM

DH isn't into the RHMS either, in fact he's never watched it all the way through, ever .....

He doesn't like Monty Python either so we differ a bit when it comes to comedy. Not all ..... just those shows.

quack back, Lara.
Bonus day off here...ice and snow and sleet and freezing rain. It's a lovely day....or not. But it is a great excuse to have hot chocolate and hang out on the computer

Lara 01-27-2009 04:43 AM

Ice and snow and sleet and freezing rain.
Gosh, that would be about a 10 pair of sock day for me. (all worn at once that is).
Hot chocolate sounds good. I hope you're warm enough there you two. ???

Gotta go now. Good to see you da duck. I miss chatting with you dear friend.

*heart

Spanish Moss 01-27-2009 05:53 AM

Please note, my Darling, that I only got the first oo and ee mixed up and the rest was correct :p

As to your question... a nekkid person running in the forrest is probably seen by bambi's and squirrels ( but not in Australia cuz they don't have them) and ants and mosquito's. I rather suspect that only the mosquito's really care, however, as they see a larger and tastier target. (I know this from somewhat personal experience...although I was not totally nekkid and was not running and....well....guess I have painted too much detail already.

And now I must go to work and try to be professional while the Witch Doctor is quite stuck in my head. I hope I do not break into song at the wrong time, although there are a few doc's that probably need the advice!

Have a good day everyone!

for you Python fans out there...and the one in this chair. I LOVE Monty Python . When I was young my mom used to wake me up late at night and we would watch Monty Python together, or a bad old scary movie. Both are still among my favorite things. And now they both make me think of my mother...which is a weird sort of thing.

Still spitting ice out of the sky here, but not so much now. They say the whole system will move north and either southern Indiana will get the worst of it...or we will get another inch and a half of ice this evening.
Ah well, I love never knowing...LOL

Tim Curry is something else. Do you remember him in "Clues" the movie?

did you know that Riff Raff's lips are the ones in the opening of RHPS??

he wrote and directed it...

of course, one of my favorite number is: da**it, Janet...LOL

Koala77 01-27-2009 08:54 PM

I saw Rocky at a small theatre in my home town some years back.

It was so much fun to be in the crowd where everyone knew every word to the show, and I don't mean just the lyrics to the songs. :D

Brad and Janet were even played by minor stars from Australian TV. What fun that was!

Ahhhh! Memories.

And yes.... I have to agree with you about British comedy....I just love it.

Did anyone ever listen to the Goon Show on the radio..... Peter Sellers, Spike Milligan, etc., ?

who moi 01-27-2009 09:05 PM

well, I never heard of the Goon show but you've now piqued my interest. :D

I also loved 'Red Dwarf'. I'm very fond of British humour... being an aussie I guess I would be though. Peter Sellers for example was a true genious.

This time we have Spike Milligan, Peter Sellers, Harry Belafonte and introducing John Cleese.
