Had a much needed ME day!
 

When is the last time you actually went shopping and had fun? It's been so long for me because it is so tiring (just like all of you know!) and I loose the urge to shop after such a short time. Well today it was so different and it was great! :Excited:

I met up with my book club group to discuss our latest book over coffee. Mmmmm - Starbucks carmel latte. :p Afterwards, with the coffee in me, two of my friends took me clothes shopping. My clothes are years out of style, don't look good on me anymore and I've been feeling very frumpy.

My friends went through the racks, pulled out clothes for me to try on, and best of all told me the truth about how they looked on me. They even told me which clothes to try on with each other. They were clothes that I would never have even taken off the racks and tried on if I was on my own. They were so different from what I own -- and best of all they were actually in style! :cool: I felt like I was being given a make-over and felt so pampered. What was so amazing is I just met these women a short time ago and yet they are so giving. I can't even tell you how much I appreciated what they did for me.

After shopping, my girlfriend and I went to lunch and continued to chat. She even drove so I didn't have to! If you read my other thread, you'd know how much I needed a day like today. :)

I told them how much I appreciated their help and hope that I can some day return the favor!!

You NEEDED a day after all the stuff you have been through lately and all the things you are still going through!

The whole hauling water brings back nightmares of when my well ran dry one year during drought (shallow dug well) and I had to haul water. At least I had a spring nearby that had been tested and was clean and good to drink and I have a lake outside the door for washing and all that. I cannot imagine having to wait for water to be brought by pipes from another source and knowing it would be months before it was done.

Wow, that's just great, Karousel!!! Lately, everytime I fill up a glass with water, I think of you having to lug jugs around.

I'm so happy that you got a well-deserved day of therapeutic shopping trip! Couldn't happen to a nicer person. :hug:

LOL...It must be early. Took me a few minutes to get thru my immature giggle & remember what the reference was to. Geesh.

I do feel the need for another ME day. Oops, actually I kind of had one yesterday. Except I stayed home and the DD and DH were gone for hours and hours skiing. So I relaxed but I do feel that shopping bug coming on...and I do need more new clothes...grabbing car keys since Twink has the CC and tyrik has the purse...wait for me!!!!
