Moi, you knew I was going to just love these. Thanks for sharing the pictures. Looking at all of them provoked so many emotions in me but mostly just awe in what was artfully carved. Just amazing!
It is so sad these were all lost in the fires. As Alffe said, at least we have these pictures to remember by. Again, thank you so much for sharing these. |

WE LOST THOSE !? :( Aw, no....
Thanks for sharing the photos. |
Wow...I hate to admit, but I've never seen these before! It has been about 10 years since I went to Marysville, even then, we (my ex and I) only passed through the town!:o
So sad to know that they have all been wiped out in the fires!:( |
Thank you for posting these Moi.
I'd never been to see the carvings in the forest, but I had seen them in an email a while back. Another tragic loss from the bush fires. :Sob: Quote:

More rain forests than deserts in Oz? Whenever I think of the "outback," I picture something very dry and desert -- like here in Utah. Utah is the 2nd most arid state in USA, after Nevada. Thanks for setting me straight! :) |
wonderful!
These pieces are so wonderful!
Destroyed? I can't imagine that even! We both love them, so my husband searched for more info like he often does.... http://www.flickr.com/photos/benrobe...7594468071832/ There are more pictures on that link and also Mr. Torfs website. Just click on a small one and it will enlarge. The website gives a little biography too. Now my husband has said... "you know we have lots of stumps and wood up North... you can try your hand there"! I say.... "yeah, sure"... LOL (he thinks I can do anything!) |
What a magical place that was.
