Some Confusion
 

Maybe it all happened too fast or too many threads.

Not everyone is real happy about how fast everything has happened here.

Poof, we had a new forum..then threads about names. Polls and more polls. Lots of votes on the poll, more than ever that post here.

Not everyone feels they got a chance to voice their opinions.

We need to discuss this before a name put up. Same thing for a logo. Or not to have a logo.

1. Do you think all the choices were on the poll?
2. Do you want a second poll after the "field" has been narrowed?
3. Should the poll of a name, if you choose to do it again, should be for those that post here?
4. Do you want a logo?
5. Are you fine with everything and just forget this thread?

Some things are more for fun... but if anybody feels unconfortable, I would love to hear them and I will surely understand their opinions and decisions. :)

Im happy with whatever. I have always thought that when I feel lazy to read a thread or Im not interested, I simply dont read it and that's it, I dont mind if other members are having fun in them... But I respect if somebody feels "not happy" with all the threads.... Id love to actually hear (read) other's opinions...

In my case, I say to the mods, please feel free to delete as many of my post/threads/polls as necesary, I dont want to bother anybody.

Personally I like SOS Social Chat - DON'T HIT ME!!!

My guess is that the polls were all in fun. I, for one, don't feel strongly about a name, a banner or anything. We can stick with SOS chat or OT orchange it to something creative. I trust you!

It wasn't about being fun or not being fun, it is about it getting confusing. (the whole forum is OT...so fun is to expected)

Some didn't realize that they needed to post on more than one thread. They gave name ideas on one and didn't know they had repeat. Weren't sure which polls were for fun or for real.

Not everyone has the time to read so many threads or are able to check daily. That type of thing.

I'm just here as a voice. I can be ignore.

anyways, just wanted to add my voice ;) to say all that is wanted is for SOS members to all feel they had a voice and a choice in naming and branding the broom room sunshine inn sos social chat place :D

especially as this is the special sos room, it would be courteous for those who dont really ever post here to let active members choose the name rather than skew the poll by sneaking in and votin' :wink:

if everyone is happy with Sunshine In(n) grrrrrreat :grouphug:

if not, then it is easy enough to run a new poll with the top contenders from the last to choose from, including option to keep the SOS Social Chat name, and also have a selection of logos, including those nice ones you did BlueMajo:) I am not sure what the specifications are for Doc to upload a logo but I would think the simpler the better...

If there is another poll about a name, then, :eek: perhaps it should be up longer.

With all the different personalities and sensitivities, I don't think anything is going to satisfy everyone. SOS Social Chat is fine with me.

Well, you know me, I will love it no matter what it is. I got enough complexities in my life :p I just love you guys, monkeys included...:) :p and that is all that really matters to me. :grouphug: you can call it timbuktuu for all I care. What matters to me is the fun, love, and support. :grouphug:

I like Sunshine In.

It makes sense to me that the regular SOS posters be the ones to make the decision and so far, on this thread, it has been regular SOS posters making comments and they seem to either say Sunshine In(n) is fine or that they are fine with whatever is decided.

I don't feel the need for another poll, unless there are some regular SOS posters who strongly feel they did not have a chance to participate or that they got confused on when and where to vote.

Just my 2 cents. Oh, and I agree with Chemar - "Just do it"

about that name...that doesn't mean we can't name it that. Majority rules...my point is to say what you think. I loved Plan B, Oasis, The Tree House...etc..I just don't happen to like Sunshine Inn/In. And now, everyone knows how I feel. Scrabble likes it. And I think Blue expressed an opinion.

And I only liked Wonder Inn, but I was the only one, so, like I said, I'm still okay with just SOS Social Chat. I'm okay with whatever anybody else wants.

I'm feelin a little sorry for Ms. Monkey who gets the 'messages of concern' and has to round everybody up and tell 'em whattup. And she's probably sitting there just shakin her head and throwin her hands in the air!

What good will it be to do another poll is what I'm wonderin? And if so, how long should it stay up. 1? 2? 3? 4? 5 or 6 weeks?

I say SOS Social Chat and leave it at that and forget about it. There's my 2 cents worth.

No, hum, seriously now, what I would like is like everybody (or at least the majority) feels happy, or at least, not bothered...
If for someone, changing/using a name/logo is useless or feel "unhappy", I think we should leave things as they are...

If... on the other hand...

One group of people simply dont mind, and other group whats a new name and a new logo, let's just do it ! :)

its not that i dont want to turn lights out I am just busy lately so many doing worse then i and I am trying to support /help that other things get put lower on list.my kids has 25 days of highschool left then she is off to college a few months after that.
but lets call lights out on this now since I am here.
I b.t.w. agree and have said before i dont care for anything with Inn but now i dont care i just want a name already cus its like color of ones skin or eyes.... it really dose not matter what color or name things have it is what is inside that count and matters.

Ya know, I honestly am not seeing what this fuss is about.

I was contacted. By more than one. Yep Doody...I did exactly that..and sent Mrs Alffe a funny graphic. :wink:

I asked the questions. Nothing anyone should take as personal. They could be answered or not. No one forces anyone to post, so if you have more important stuff to do, then by all means do it. I sure did today. :D

One thing I do agree with, naming should be done by people who post here and on SOS. (Might be a person who pops in occasionally. )That should be a given. It was the same when MS named their OT forum.

Nothing was ever said that anyone was unhappy with all the threads. Or any. The word was confused. HUGE difference. Let's not muddle the issue.

Not reading a thread is an issue. There ended up being too many about the same topic. Funny ones, ones more serious. Who knew where to read?So yes, they were skipped.

I'm another that doesn't like the name Sunshine in(n) and would be happy to leave the name as SOS social chat. If another poll is run, then it should only be for members who post in SOS, but I don't know how you can achieve that outcome with a voting poll.

I like the Sunshine In because of the little ancedote that Moi posted about being saved from committing suicide by those very loving people. It touched me very deeply. It is the story behind the name that I like.

Mistiis I loved the story also but the trouble with naming it for one "person" is that the story will long be forgotten and the name will stick.
Sunshine In/Inn is too syrupy imho.

I didn't want it named Alffe's Alley because I'll die one day and who the hell is Alffe.
