hi ya all

films that tickle, me this tread was started by a friend on another forum a mom of a 17 yr old boy who has a spinal CSF leak, I have a leaky head so can relate , the poor lad has to spend his time flat on his back. but he loves to laugh , my brain injury has made me have to relearn many things, one of those things was to see the fun in life, this thread helped me do that, because remembering things that made me laugh in the past, kinda helped me in the now, I was invited over here with my tickling stick, it is not my intention to make lite of any ones situation, so hears my selection. please add your own, it can be anything , form a mad pet to a comedy en

Great thread, vini!

It was great to watch scenes from the Money Pit, Little Shop of Horrors and Young Frankenstein!
I showed this one to my grandkids last night b/c I couldn't get the song outta my haid! Donald O'Connor, "Make 'em Laugh."

I'm not a movie person because my illness prevents me sitting still at cinemas long enough to watch a feature film (I get spasms and the twitches become painful after a short time), and my concentration period is now so short that I can no longer enjoy anything at movie length.

I do watch some TV, although not a lot..... I'd rather read :)

I like a lot of the English comedies. I enjoy Faulty Towers and I also enjoy another called The Vicar of Dibley.

There are many episodes of that one available on UTube, and although it's hard to choose a favourite, the Christmas nativity was fun.

I can't handle it very often either Anne. I don't think any of these are new releases.

Renting works best for me. I can take breaks or just get up and walk around and watch. :D

We do have a good collection of movies. My vcr works great and videos of these old funny movies can be found a $1 or less.

Me too! I think our most expensive DVD is one that I bought for our DGS. I paid $9:95 for that one because it was a classic. I lashed out with no regard to the expense! :D

As for DH and I , I sometimes pick up a DVD on sale for $1 or $2. They're usually really old, but then.... so am I! :o

Thanks for the Vicar of Dibley link Anne. Barbo's daughter just loved that show and it was fun to look at some of them again.

Where did vini disappear to?.....*grin

Lara 03-19-2009 05:03 AM

I'm sure vini will check back. She may not find it so easy to post too often.

I love a lot of tv comedy, but movies, well I was trying to think of a movie I was watching one night here late last year and I was laughing so loudly (and I live on my own) that I thought the neighbour might think it was odd. lol

I looked it up and it was Santa Clause 2.

I laugh out loud at Fawlty Towers and Red Dwarf and a whole lot of other tv shows, but I just can't really think of any really hilarious movies except for the Santa Clause 2 that I mentioned.

I never go to the movies anymore. It's impossible sadly. I love getting recommendations for movies/dvds that I can hire out though.

Alffe 03-19-2009 05:54 AM

Oh I'm partial to Lesbian Vampire Killers...LOL! Love this tread vini..thanks for starting it!

Lara 03-19-2009 06:03 AM

That sounds and looks a little like the "House of Wax". lol It's a spoof I take it?

Reminds me a little of "The Attack of The Killer Tomatoes". :)

Apparently I was supposed to find the Scream movies funny too, but I laughed at bits and screamed at other bits. My daughter thought it was all very cool and funny at the time and wasn't scared at all. I kept screaming.

Alffe 03-19-2009 06:14 AM

I never tried to watch any of the Scream movies cause I knew they'd scare me.

Doody 03-19-2009 10:00 AM

I rarely do theater movies anymore. I rent a lot. Can get up and move around when I want. I like the Redbox, cheap. $1.07 a night and you can order from online too.

Doody 03-19-2009 10:03 AM

Well for Uncle Buck with John Candy I found one good short scene. Was trying to find one with him in that hilarious old car of his.

This is the one where the kid asks him tons of questions.
