It is my turn to whine!

I am so tired that I want to cry. Screaming would take too much energy. I am also a bit dizzy (fell into a wall at school today), experiencing occasional blurriness in one eye, spasticity is worse, and my knees hurt like ______ (fill in the blank). I am also feeling very sorry for myself. Yesterday was the two year anniversary of my dx. I spent most of the day in bed.

I am starting pt on Friday so I hope that will help with spasticity issue. I experienced nausea with the voltaren gel so I stopped taking it. I may try it again tomorrow to see if that was the cause.

Okay -- I am almost done whining. I am also really, really tired of college students. :D Okay, does anyone else need a turn?

sabimax 03-30-2009 09:28 PM

hugss Barb, great big hugssssss

I am sorry you feeling as you are, this spasticity is new to me, at least the last all day stuff is new to me. Used to be just a early morning thing, hugsssss for the pain.

Just lots of hugs, and I know the feeling of tears coming. This stuff can just bring ya down. But let the tears flow then get back to that smile!! hugssss, sarah

We all need our turn at whining! It's well deserved. I'm sorry you are having such a hard time of it. At least you can get it off your chest here and know we all DO UNDERSTAND! Take care!

sorry you're feeling so bad barb.
i hope the PT helps.
sometimes those therapists can also tweak the docs to help too if you need anything else.

Koala77 03-30-2009 11:21 PM

I'm so sorry that you're having such a tough time Barb.

I have no magic answers, but I do hope you start to feel a bit better soon. Everyone deserves a break sometime, and I'm guessing that you're a bit over due.

Sending you some gentle hugs and letting you know you're not alone.

Thanks Guys! You do understand. I told a good friend that I fell against the wall at school today while walking because I was dizzy, and she said -- I wonder what caused that. Another friend on Saturday( whose husband has ms -- he is never tired for more than 15 minutes and has few symptoms) was telling me how good and well rested I looked. They both make me want to scream ; they just do not get it.

SandyC 03-31-2009 01:23 AM

 Barb. I hope it gets better for you soon.

Hi Barb,
We all understand completely, so whine away. Sometimes just writing your feelings on paper or the monitor, in this case, helps let it all out. I usually punch a pillow. I get angry when people don't "get it". Even PWMS, if they don't have the same symptom can't understand how troublesome it is.

People think if you're tired, just rest for a minute or two, or sit down and it will rejuvenate us. If you're dizzy close your eyes and relax. NOT! No way will it help and they don't get it. When you're bone tired or dizzy you can stagger or fall. It takes more than a few minutes to re-coup.

When I get fatigued, I must lay down, NOW. But hey, they think we look so good we must be just a little worn out. They have to walk in our shoes for a whole day and maybe they will get it, or not.

I hope you feel better. Years ago I had dizziness and it went away. I hope yours does too.

 Barb  This carp does bite the big one. It really irritates me, too, when others act like our sx are just ordinary and we're overreacting. I wish they could just spend 5 minutes feeling like we do.

I hope today is better for you and you can find some relief.

soxmom 03-31-2009 06:56 AM

aww...sorry you are having such a poopy time. I must admit
I had to read your post twice as I thought it read...I fell into a well:eek:
I was relieved to find it was just a wall:o.

Take care and big hugs to you!!!

Dejibo 03-31-2009 07:29 AM

barb02 04-01-2009 03:45 PM

Well, the party is over. Sorry if you were late arriving. Happy to report that I am feeling better than I was on Monday -- just dealing with the usual carp now.

SallyC 04-02-2009 11:29 AM

I am so glad you are feeling better Barb..:)

OK my turn...I didn't want to start a whole new whine thread, just for me, so I hope you don't mind if I use yours.

I am exhausted and can't seem to catch up with the sleep I need. It could be that I sleep, mostly, on the sofa and am just not perfectly comfortable. I have a perfectly fine bed to sleep in, but find it more convenient to fall asleep watching TV.....Maybe I need a new Sofa...LOL.

I have had men in and out for 3 weeks now, working on one thing or another, which causes me more anxiety and that could be the reason for my lack of deep sleep.

I know I'll get better.....just wanted to moan a bit....see picture above..:D

barb02 04-02-2009 02:39 PM

Sally, Hope you get some rest soon. I know it is easier to fall asleep on the sofa, but you probably should use your bed. Do you have a tv in your bedroom?;) Like the picture.:D

ewizabeth 04-02-2009 04:59 PM

Aw Barb... How about a group of us buy some land on a Caribbean shore and retire? :Ponder::sunchair:

I bet we'd all feel lots better then.

DM 04-03-2009 03:25 PM

Hey Barb! Whine (or wine) away; it's a good cleansing of sorts. I think I understand how you feel; where did our old ''selves'' go??? I just started PT last wk, as I am losing more balance and having more spasms, so the Dr thought I should try PT. I have noticed a little difference, but yest when I got home, I did some housework and now feel like everything I have learned and done has now been swept out the door w/the dust.

I will continue the PT and at home exercises, but there are times when I just want to pull the covers over my head and call it a day. Hope every day is a better one for you. Take care.

Oh, and my PT told me that I have the ''wall walk'' down pat!
