I think we skipped spring.

I think our spring was one day last week. Today we hit 101 for the first time this year.

Normally we don't hit 100 until the middle of May.

At least I won't be here for a month of it while I go out of town.

Curious 04-21-2009 07:16 PM

Earl..I give those who are getting snow my permission to throw snowballs at you...and me...we will be in the 90's or atleast high 80's this week.

:sunchair:

Aarcyn 04-21-2009 07:31 PM

I was thinking the same thing, just one day of Spring. At least we had a nice cool rainy day about a week ago.

I am just watching the temperature of the pool, waiting for it to be warm enough to swim.

right now, here comes the long HOT days.

SallyC 04-21-2009 07:33 PM

Ohio has gone back to Winter for a bit..It's colder than ******************..

May the bird of paradise, do a back stroke in your Martini, Earl..:p

Rapunzel 04-21-2009 08:20 PM

We're up to about 75. Snow last week. Snow next week. Here, in Utah, we have two seasons. Winter, and Road Construction.

Kitty 04-21-2009 08:32 PM

101??? Yuck.

We're having Spring here.....it's in the 50's in the morning and upper 60's low 70's in the afternoon. I think this weekend we will hit 80.

I just wish it could stay like this year round. Is that too much to ask??? :p

sabimax 04-21-2009 09:33 PM

kicker 04-22-2009 07:19 AM

The 70s happened twice here. You could hear the cries of joy across the state. Back to rain, damp, chill and general Ick.

KAOheim 04-22-2009 07:25 AM

Hit 90 yesterday here. I have the guy coming to give me a quote for a conversion from evaporative to refrigerated air today.

Truthfully, he was coming anyway but boy am I ready! wooo hooo!

AfterMyNap 04-22-2009 07:43 AM

You can have it, old boy. It's a cool, crisp, and sunny morning in MI, it's only 34° out there but the sun makes it feel like 50°. It's a perfect day to go outside and enjoy the bursting spring happening all around us. The grass (yes, we HAVE grass) is green and lush, the fresh buds are aching to bloom, the creek flows crystal clear through my densely wooded yard, and the birds & critters (cute, furry mammals) are rejoicing in a cacophony of glory.

Enjoy your parched, brown, sweltering day as you look out the air-conditioned window wondering what the rest of the world is doing without you.

Dejibo 04-22-2009 07:53 AM

the weather here is pyscho. its cold and rainy with sleet one day, and 75 the next. then its back to cold and rainy. We still have snow piles that havent melted here. its supposed to be in the 80s this weekend! then its back to the 50s by tuesday. Im dizzy when I watch the weather man.

DM 04-22-2009 09:41 AM

That's called paybacks, Sir Earl. When you were telling us about your nice weather while we were all freezing~~ well, now our weather is great. It's already 67 here and looking to hit high 70's today. Plug the fan back in, Earl~ I'm going out on the patio. *snickering and feeling bad* NOT!

*kidding --or am I??* :D:hug:

tkrik 04-22-2009 09:50 AM

Yup, Earl, that one day of spring was great. LOL. The heat is on and the days of being a vampire are almost upon us - only going out after the sun goes down. :o:mad:

AZjanie 04-22-2009 11:04 AM

It has been in the nineties here the last two days but a cold spell is coming so will be in the 70's again...bummer. :(

We love the nice warm weather and after spending most of our lives in the Midwest it will take the rest of our lives to thaw out from some very brutal Winters.

We love the heat in the Summer with such low humidity and no bugs!

Bring it on!!

Yeah, but you have other slimy creatures, sneaking around..

No humidity sounds good..:)

karousel 04-22-2009 11:19 AM

We are having Spring right now. Cold, wet and miserable. But this weekend it should be 70-80. Yeah! I took my DD shopping on Monday and told her she better get some new shorts because it will be warm very soon. Sure enough, less than a week later she'll need those shorts! Which means now I'm in trouble since my shorts don't fit!!!!

AZjanie 04-22-2009 01:33 PM

Yeah; we get those door to door pests! :p

We haven't seen a rattlesnake, black widow or killer bee since we moved here six years ago.

I killed a bull snake in the street awhile back because it was heading for our house. I gave him a chance at life but if it has more than four legs or less than two and around me it's gonna die!

Our neighbor had a scorpion in her garage and called all of us over to see it before she stomped on it.

We do have little lizards in our yard which look like snakes with legs but they never come near the house. I killed a tarantula on the patio once and since then we have the house and yard sprayed so no more unwelcome guests.

Our "bug guy" comes and sprays once a month so we have never seen a spider or bug of any kind in the house since.

We pay for protection!

braingonebad 04-22-2009 01:45 PM

Janie, as soon as it gets warm we have pests here too we have to deal with. We call em *neighbors*.

:D

tkrik 04-22-2009 02:17 PM

Well, so far this week I have a centipede come visit, a black widow decide to spin a web by my front door, a tarantula on my patio, lizards running all over the place (they are so much fun to watch), and a swarm of bees out in the blooming Palo Verde tree right outside my window. Scorpions will start coming out soon as well as rattlers. How's that for creepy crawlies.

Yep! us too. I live in the boonies of NH, on the lake, and all the snow birds fly away in October, and return in April. Most all are back now, and the neighborhood is abuzz with leaf blowers, lawn mowers, chain saws, people talking too loud, fireworks, drunken parties on the weekends, and lets not forget that the car race track is open on weekends, as well as the moto cross bike racers. We have 2 of those in our town. We LOVE this place in the winter, even though there is a ton of snow to deal with. Its beautiful, and quiet. Come april we are over whelmed with noise pollution.

Its supposed to be in the 80s this weekend. That should get rid of the rest of the snow.
