I could read it! I've seen things like this before....and have always been able to read them.
I'm a genius......I always knew it!! :p  |
Hey gardengrl! I've seen that email before and I remember when my DS *who is legally blind* was younger and had a vision therapist working w/him. W/magnifying tools etc, she taught him to read script looking at the first and last letter of the word along w/the shape of the words. At the time, I thought it strange, but it works.
He graduated his Jr year and at the top of his class b/c he didn't want to use Braille. So, hope you can all read my typo's here. Thanks for sharing. |
I wish I understood this! How is it that I got DYSLEXIA from my accident,,, but can read this...I read things WRONG most of the time....i write them in the wrong order too...very strange!

You're a genius, too......just like me!! :D |
It's the same kind of mind power used by musicians when reading a complicated score. Our minds are so remarkable (DM's notwithstanding), what an amazing thing is the human brain!
Just try some time to enumerate all the different items you have memorized in your lifetime! My brain damage is in the form of legions of lesions from MS. It hasn't really caused me too much trouble yet, mostly just stalled vocabulary and lack of concentration. So far, I'm able to overcome it but if you ever hear your phone ring at 4:00am, it's me calling to tell you that I remembered the word or name I was searching for. ;) |

I didn't have trouble reading it. I can only guess that the way that the letters are presented our brains use different areas to actually interpret and understand it. Does that sound logical?:p
|
I don't now, I can't understand how I can Screw up a sentence that's correct,.. but get something so Screwed up right? lol
|
It seems all you need the 1st letter, to glance at the letters & to notice about how long or short the word is.....and I guess, to have seen it before (if you live in a city that I never heard of & you scrambled up the letters, how would I know the real name?).
|
I've seen something similar before. I had no trouble reading it without having to stop and figure it out.
It's kind of like when you type. It's the way I was taught. You do not sit and think of every letter that you type. It just comes out as the whole word. I don't have to look at what I am typing either as I'm sure many do not have to either. You just type it. And if you are reading something from a paper that you have to type, you look at the paper and type as you are looking at it. You don't have to look at how it comes out. I'm just able to do this as others are as well. The same with playing the piano or organ. You just play; you don't have to look at the keys. |
hmmm, but Kitt, would you be able to type that giberish as well as typing the actual words?? Do you think you could type at the same speed & correctly?

Probably not. But......I know when there are posts that have spelling errors or letters transposed I can still read them. I notice the errors but I still know what the word is that they're meaning to type. It'd be harder to try and consciously type words with spelling errors I think. |

If you ever get around to it, I would LOVE to know how that goes....I haven't a clue as to why I am so drawn to this??? I'm feeling "angry" or "aggravated" knowing I can read this possible BETTER than real properly spelled sentences!!
I really have so many crazy things going on right now & don't understand the connection I feel to this silly thing!lol |
