Who gets the interview?
Here's the scenario: something happens in your life, and every local news station, every newspaper, every network news program (60 Minutes, Dateline, 20/20...CBS, NBC, ABC, FOX, CNN News...the morning news shows) wants the exclusive interview with YOU. Who gets it?
With whom would you want to sit down and tell your story to the world? Would your choice be different depending on whether what happened was something wonderful or something terrible? Is there somebody you absolutely would NOT give an interview? Just curious. |
Barbara Walters. I think she is a classy lady, and doesnt try to embarrass or trap you into corners. She is graceful, and calm, not pushy and raw about it.
I would NEVER give an interview to Oprah. or Dr. Phil for that matter. I find both to be brash, and push the envelope to make the ratings sound that much better. |

But, my problem is that I'm very shy in real life. I would probably want to be an anonymous source. |
id prob'ly go with the ENQUIRER or some other tabloid. give them something legit to print
|
Katie Couric, I've always liked her.
|
I don't know who I would NOT give an interview to but besides my DH the other person I would discuss it with would be my Mom. Sorry CBS, Fox, etc.
|
Absolutely would NOT talk to Dr. Phil. He's just an egotistical, self-absorbed person IMHO. Not too fond of Oprah, either.
I like Meredith Vierra (sp?). And Diane Sawyer and Robin Roberts from GMA. Any one of those three I wouldn't mind talking to. I would want to see the questions beforehand, though. I'm not good with being put on the spot. :o |
I would have said Barbara Walters too, but then she'd discuss it with all those big mouth beeoches on the View....
 Um, no thanks. I'd just write a book. |
I like merideth veirra too! her hubby has MS, so she understands. Sorry Barbara.
|
Chelsea Lately:)
|
Meridith Vierra would be my pick too. Because of her husband, I feel she really "gets" MS.
|
I think I would just want to be left alone. Like Erin, I tend to be on the shy side and there is no way I would want to be on TV like that.
However, if it really, really had to be done I think I would do the Ellen show as she has such a light hearted sense of humor. I think it would be more fun and relaxing to do her show than the others who seems overly serious and have their own agenda and can twist the story any way they want. Not that Ellen couldn't but at least the humor and silliness would make it worth while. |
I realize how shallow and materialistic this sounds, but for this scenario the highest bidder wins with me for the "exclusive". (I've got two sons to provide for). And a chunk of that $$$ will be donated to research.
I put it in quotes because I will be telling the story again to whoever wants to listen. But that's just me. :o |
I would pick Rachel Maddow. She is smart (rhodes scholar) and sympathetic without being patronizing.
She could tell me how it really went when she has interviewed people like Al Gore, Robert Redford, Edie Falco, John Kerry, Pat Buchanan, Jane Fonda, Seymour Hersh, Tucker Carlson, Roseanne Cash, Lili Taylor, Ben Harper, and Michael Isikoff. |
My choice of an interviewer:
Brian Lamb of C-SPAN. http://www.trumanaward.org/web/LambBio.html http://www.usnews.com/blogs/washingt...wing-down.html :) Cheers! |
God. He interviews me daily.
|
If something like that were to ever happen, I'd probably pick Charles Gibson from ABC. I've always liked him as a news reporter.
|
I thought about it a bit longer. I would not talk to anyone from the major tv networks. Too many yellow journalists.
If I had to be interviewed by anyone, I'd choose Glenn Beck (Fox News) first, and then maybe Sean Hannity, or Mike Huckabee or Greg Gutfeld (Gutfeld is on Fox News, on a show called Red Eye, and he's not very serious at all...Gutfeld is probably a little crazy) Those choices probably make my conservative republican-ism show. |
Actually, I thought about this some more. If I had to be interviewed by any celebrity it would have to be Shemar Moore (from Criminal Minds). He would be so nice to look at that it really wouldn't matter to me if he twisted things around. He can twist all he wants.;):D
Sandy - Good answer. That daily interview with God can be the scariest yet most rewarding interview. |

I took the "God" as an exclamation "God!!!" As in, I agree! and the "He interviews me daily" as in "I watch Brian Lamb all the time, I like that guy." Only when I read down to Tricia's post did I go backwards and realize that my interpretation was WAY OFF.:):D |

Now we have to wait for Sandy to tell us what she really meant.:p |
