*dances around happily* I got through the MRI! Hurray!

I only spent 30 minutes in the machine and they played my def leppard CD for me so that totally helped, letting Joe Elliott sing to me while I kept my mind on the music and NOT the banging testing machine above and below me. I was stunned when she turned it down and said, "Ok, you're all done."

I am so happy, I planned to take the lorazepam about an hour and a half before the time I was meant to get in the scanner and it worked, only had a little anxiety when intially going INTO the machine (It was an open one or I couldn't handle it) but I closed my eyes and this went away instantly. :)

I had some anxiety while the test was going on, like I was itchy on my shoulder or my leg, and thought my swallowing would ruin the test, but thankfully it didn't! It's all over with now. All that's left is to see what the Pain Doc thinks of the results, I do NOT want to go on anything stronger, I just wanted to know why my neck is snapping and what was going on to cause more pain. :o

Should know those answers Thursday. Nothing going on tomorrow, and Wednesday Jackie is going to be home all day because we go to Gainesville for his pdoc appt. then I go thursday to get the test results and see the pain doc, and friday the health dept is holding a dental day where they are giving away one free extraction or simple filling for the first 100 people there. I hope to get there before too long and be in the first 100. It starts at 7 am and Jackie doesn't get on the bus til 8:15 so I can't get there til about 8:30. I hope they haven't filled up by then. Only time will tell...:grouphug:

BlueMajo 04-27-2009 01:43 PM

Hey !

2 things !

1.- It is awesome that you finally are done with this !!! yay !!!

2.- It is wonderful that you like Deff Leppard !!!! I like them A LOT too !!! :D You have good taste in music :)

Pamster 04-27-2009 02:33 PM

Thanks Blue! I am glad you like them too, they totally ROCK!!! :D ;)

Dmom3005 04-27-2009 03:19 PM

Pam

I'm so glad things went so well.

Sending you some hugs. And wishing you could figure out a way that
someone else could put Jackie on the bus so you could get there
earlier on Friday.

Donna

Pamster 04-27-2009 08:08 PM

I am so happy things went well too Donna, it's scary to be put in a MRI machine, I just had terrible anxiety going in but I did as the tech suggested, shut my eyes and it was gone, when I felt the table stop moving I was able to open them again and did pretty good I think. :)

Yeah it is a shame I can't have someone else get Jackie on the bus, I don't think he'd get dressed and do his morning routine for anyone else, so we just got to hope that we'll be able to be fit in. :)

Mari 04-27-2009 08:11 PM

Pam,

Can you keep him at home, then?

It seems that getting to the dentist is a good way for you to focus on yourself. You focus on other people a lot.

You deserve focus too.

M.

Dmom3005 04-27-2009 08:46 PM

Pam

I think I'd schedule it so that Jack is getting him on the bus.
Have him up and getting ready. Maybe have his clothes out
and even consider having him wear them to bed. He can
always have extra's ready to take to school.

Also consider telling him how big a boy he will be if he can
help mommy with this one thing this time. Maybe giving
thought to how he can have a special surprise that night.

Just make sure you have it then. He has been surprising
you so give it a try. If nothing else he will just stay home
with Jack.

Donna

Pamster 04-29-2009 03:08 PM

I am letting Jack go first so he can get a tooth yanked, it's been bothering him for months, and he just can't stand it anymore. So I guess I just lose out on this free dental day unfortunately. :(

ANyway I have made my choice, and it's just a shame. :(

I go tomorrow to get the MRI results and will be talking to my pain dr about switching to something that isn't as damaging to the liver as the stuff I currently take which has tylenol in it. :p

BlueMajo 04-29-2009 03:55 PM

Hey there my deff leppard fan !!! Which is your fav song ?? well, you probably have more than one... I really like them. They should do an international tour !!!
How is yor turtle today ?

Pamster 04-29-2009 06:37 PM

Hi Blue!

I love all their music honestly, but I'd have to say some of my u ltimate favs are "Tonight," "Love Don't Lie," "It's Only Love" for newer songs, and older songs I enjoy are ANYTHING off the first album "On Through The Night" and the second album "High & Dry" those two are hard rocking heaven IMO! Do you like the old stuff and the new stuff or what? What are some of your favorite songs? :D

Turtlini is doing pretty good, just got fed and is swimming around his tank enjoying the warm water. :D

BlueMajo 04-29-2009 09:59 PM

Pam !!!

Uff... you know, I like old and new stuff...

My fav songs are, 2 steps behind, all I want is everything... those 2 yeah... could hear them all day !!! :D

Ah !!! Turtlini !!!! Loved the name ! :) Too cute !!! He is lovely, I can see it in your pics ! How old is he ?

Dream with Mr. Elliot tonight ! :D

Pamster 04-30-2009 06:40 AM

That is so funny you'd say that-you ever have a 'Def Leppard dream' where you meet the guys? I am lucky enough to have actually met three of them back in 88' when I was nineteen. Check out this pic:

Its the only one I have of just me and one of the members that I posted online, I hadn't slept for THREE days because they'd come in concert two nights straight and I was lucky enough to get tickets to BOTH shows! :D

I have some pages on my website about the guys and that meeting here if you're interested along with a couple of poems I wrote about them, an essay about 20 years of fandom, and a review of the tenth album 'X' which I just adore. :)

As for those two songs, WOW, they are awesome! Have you seen the videos for them? :)

Mari 04-30-2009 07:05 AM

great pic!

This is great, Pam.
I'm glad that you have something that brings you such pleasure.
I wish I listened to music.
It used to be a huge part of my life.

I don't know how to get it back.

M.

Pamster 04-30-2009 07:25 AM

Oh no! It doesn't help you like it used to Mari? That's so sad, I don't know what I could do to get it back once it was gone, but I do know that the writing being gone for four months is affecting me adversely. I just took my first 15 mg abilify tab today so I am hoping it starts coming back soon, I really miss being creative, as it stands now I just sit here watching the news or other programs and reading online news most of the day...BORING! I miss being able to entertain myself with writing. Thank God Music is still entertaining, I listen to my MP3 player most of the day while reading online if there is nothing good on TV.

I am so anxious about this dr. appt today, I hope it goes well....I'll post the MRI results as told to me around noon, when I am back and able to. Something is going on that's not good from how much it's hurting on the left side of my neck, the pain in my neck used to be more focused on the right side but now it's moved over, I can only think it's from the chair being flipped onto its side back in November whenever it happened...And just got triggered by the time I twisted it wrong getting out of bed. :p

When you were into music what kind did it for you? Can you recall what started you going down the path of not enjoying it anymore? I know for my mom it had something to do with when Cat Stevens renounced all his music and said it was only done for financial gain...That kinda killed her enjoyment of his music and the other groups she liked just stopped being important to her. This was in her forties, so maybe aging had something to do with it...I worry about it since I am suddenly going through perimenapause-triggered by the abrupt change from abilify in Feb, to seroquel and back again a month ago...It's driving me nuts but things are not right and I am NOT pregnant...

At least the hot flashes aren't hitting me yet...yet....

Pamster 04-30-2009 12:50 PM

SO I just got back from getting the MRI Results. Apparently I have the beginnings of stenosis going on in my neck at C5 & C6 and there is no nerve encroachment YET so that's good. He gave me the all clear to start working out again and I told him I was worried about loss of independence and he told me definitely not yet. So that's awesome! I feel so much more at ease! :D

Mari 04-30-2009 12:54 PM

tell us the results if you want --

Dear Pam,
I'm waiting on your results too.
I hope that they are helpful regarding the issues that have appeared lately.

Music actually hurts. I get sad listening to it. Sometimes I don't get sad -- I just get irritated.

Recently I started going to youtube and I find things that only bother me a little. But I only listen to one song or two and then find something else to do. A minute ago (since you brought him up) I heard Yusuf Islam's / Cat Stevens' Peace Train. I don't believe he was in the biz previously for money. He said that to make it clear that he was making a complete break and so that people would let him make a break. I guess that it is hard to make a life change when someone is in the public eye.

Mari 04-30-2009 12:57 PM

thank you

Hi, Pam,
We cross posted.
I'm happy that you are happy with the news.
You are fine -- ok not exactly fine -- but you can resume normal activities and you don't have to be worried. You can try to feel good.
Great news.

M.

BlueMajo 04-30-2009 06:26 PM

Oh ! Im gonna go see videos of them NOW ! :D

Hey ! and glad to hear your results are "ok"

BlueMajo 04-30-2009 08:33 PM

LLLLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLLLLLL !!!!! :D

Loved your site. Too much talent there ! :)

So, they are your fav band right ?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qv829hUuYAM

Majo in cloud number 9

PAM, are you going to any concert this summer... ?? they are on tour !!! :D

Pamster 05-01-2009 04:54 AM

Yes totally my favorite band. :D Sadly I can't really make the concert this year, but then the last one I went to I was front row with that cool banner me and my parents worked on together. And really there is no topping front row seats...LOL!!!!!!!!!

But I would love to see them again someday, I just can't see taking my autistic son or we'd both go. I don't think he would enjoy being around so many people...And I doubt his dad would allow me to take him since he thinks concerts are dangerous....:p

They will be here near enough I could see them in August, in Tampa and it makes me wish and long and ache to go, but the cost is like $75 bucks for tickets, so out of my poor little league...So I get to see them live anytime on the DVD "Live in the Round in Your Face" and relive the old 1988 shows where I met them like on September 15. :)

THanks so much for the kind words about my site, that really started my day off right! :D

BlueMajo 05-01-2009 12:35 PM

Aw, I see.... How I wish I could travel to see them ! :(

Well, I think I can listen my cds now at least :)

Have a great day Pam !

Pammy,
this must have been a relief to you.
Is your pain controled?
How are you doing?
beth

Pamster 05-09-2009 03:53 PM

Hi Beth,

Actually it's been kind of bad lately, I am thinking of asking him to let me try something else, because my meds aren't controlling the pain too well. It was a huge weight off my shoulders though to get the results of the MRI. I was afraid it would be bad news but it wasn't too terribly bad. We'll just have to see how it goes. ;)

I am sorry that your meds are not helping anymore.
Does this mean it is getting worse or you are building up a tolerance to the pain meds?
Will you be able to talk with him/her this week?
How is it going on the home front?

Hey Beth,

We've just ordered this punching bag:

http://www.walmart.com/catalog/produ...uct_id=3556748

And have high hope the kiddo will use it properly with some instructions from daddy. :) I had a lovely mother's day. We ate Chinese food take-out. :D Light dishes to do HURRAY! :D

I get to talk to the pain doc week after next. I will see what he reccommends for the pain. He told me needles in the spine or continue with same med I take for pain and tough it out on the increased pain I feel since the incident I spoke of where I got out of bed and twisted my neck a month and a half ago, almost two months ago, and I don't trust anyone well enough to let them give me injections directly into the neck spine area. Just not possible....

bizi 05-10-2009 09:34 PM

Oh my 70 pounds is a lot of weight...how on earth will you be able to hang it in your apartment? or is it going out side?
It sounds perfect for him though a great way for him to burn up some energy. What ever became of the trike story?

I missed that about your reinjury of your neck....hope they come up with some relief for you soon.

Dmom3005 05-10-2009 10:33 PM

Pam
How is he doing with the soccer ball? Hoping its still around too.

Donna

Pamster 05-10-2009 10:39 PM

We're going to attach it to the ceiling stud and hang it there....we have the HDTV mounting stand done into a wall stud. So it should just be okay hanging from the ceiling in Jackie's room where the total gym is. I applied to the charities I wrote about finding last year, so we'll see, I hope to get him one this year. :)

How are you doing Beth? Good to see you around again hun.
