Quick - Prayers Needed
I'm sitting here in the ER with DD17. Finally we got a good dr and he is surprised that no one wanted to do further work up on her not even her own dr. So she will be having an MRI shortly. Please say a quick prayer that all goes well.
Thanks. |
Saying a prayer for her now. I hope everything turns out OK.....hopefully they will get to the bottom of whatever is causing all these sx.
Hang in there! |
Just prayed, and will continue. Please keep us posted!

Just talked to Trish and they are still waiting to have the MRI. They are about to give DD something to keep her relaxed for the test. Her daughter is next to go in. They may have to wait 4-6 more hours for the results. I told Trish to get a nap and she said she's going to climb in bed with her daughter. ;-) She's charging up her laptop and will update as soon as she knows something.
|
Thanks for the update Sandy. Adding my prayers as well.
|
Doing a really quick check in as I am running on 22% on my battery.
DD17 is now in the tube. She is looped up and far too funny. She had everyone - nurses, techs, dr - laughing so hard. This MRI has been a long time coming and I am so relieved that this dr took charge as opposed to saying it is nothing but a virus and really feels she needs to be seeing a neurologist. It will be another 4 to 6 hours after the MRI before we have results. DD19 went home to get my charger for the laptop. Since we will be here until at least midnight we might as well be entertained. Of course DD17 is entertaining enough. The nurse told her absolutely no laughing during the MRI. She just couldn't stop laughing. LOL I'll check back in when I can. Thanks for the prayers and thanks Sandy for doing the updates. You guys are awesome. |
Trish, well with her thinking the party is in and out of her head how can you not laugh? lol
 Let us know when you know something. Jim and I are up late. |
Saying a prayer for your daughter Trish...
|
Saying prayers for your girl.
|
Me too, Trish..:smileypray:
Some of us will still be here, when you find out, so please check in.. |
Glad to hear that she's getting the tests she needs. I'm still keeping all of you in my prayers. Try and get some rest when you can.....it's so hard to relax at the hospital. Give us an update when you can, too. I hope everything goes well for you the rest of the evening.
|
((((hugs)))) Prayers being said right now.
|
Trish just called and the good news is the MRI was clear. The doctor said her daughter needs to see a neurologist to find out what's causing her to have problems. They are still at the hospital awaiting discharge. I am sure Trish will be on later to update further.
Please keep the prayers coming as they start the process we all know can be a long one. |
Hi Trish. Glad your daughter keeps making everyone laugh. It is a good way to pass the time. I am also glad that the MRI was clear. I hope you get some answers.
|
We're home with orders in hand to see the neurologist and a cd with the MRI on it as the ER dr only gave us the preliminary report. Good news is that everything looked fine on the MRI. I asked about migraines as I was unsure if migraines could cause body numbness and weakness. He said, "Possibly or it could be what?" and then he looked at DD17. She was too out of it to answer so he answered for her. . . MS.
Since she has been having episodes of this on and off for about a year, "separated in time" as he said it knowing I knew exactly what he meant, it is still a possibility. I am glad we went today when some of my favorite ER drs were working. The 3 that were on today are all good and we got the best of the 3. Oh and yes, DD17 did have a party going on in her head. LOL. Two of her friends met us at the house and I am so glad they were here as they carried her in to the house. PHEW!!! She just now asked me, "Mom, if they put dye in me will I pee a different color?" I told her no. Then she asked, "Well were does all that dye go? Is my skin going to change colors?" LOL Her friends and I just cracked up. She has been very entertaining to say the least.;) So our trek to dx of whatever still continues with her but at least someone took her more seriously and said for a healthy active 17 year old, this is not normal. Her exam was not 100% normal either, mainly eye movement and grip strength. Should she start getting worse or having even more symptoms, I need to bring her back and they will admit her. Again, thanks for your awesome prayers. |
Just reading your thread. You are in my thoughts and prayers. I hope you find some comfort during this time.
|
Oh my goodness, Trish! I'm just now reading about your day.
I'm glad you were able to get a good doc. :) Praying for you and DD, my friend. |
Just read your thread Trish -- what an exhausting day for you and DD. Another prayer that all will continue to go well for her, you and the rest of your family.
|
I woke up and immediately wondered how things went so I came to see if you'd updated. I'm so glad the MRI was clear and you're home now. But I know this begins the long process of trying to figure out what's causing all the sx. I hope you all get some much deserved rest tonight and that she feels better in the morning.
|
Hi Trish,
So sorry that I missed this thread until now! I'm so sorry to hear about everything that your daughter and yourself are going through right now - I can't imagine how scary it must be for you both! I'm so glad to hear that the MRI is clear but I know that it doesn't really give you any answers either. Please know that you are both in my thoughts and prayers and I hope that your DD will start feeling better real soon! Good Luck when you see the Neuro - I hope he/she is able to give you some much-needed answers!! Take care and keep us posted when you can! |
I'm thinking of You and DD17..
|
Wow, T~~ Sending prayers that they will get to the bottom of DD's sx's soon. I know how hard it is to be a Mom in these situations and patience is not our virtue when it involves our children. Take care of yourself, too!
I know!!! Watch the race later! I'll be thinking of you as I cheer Tony across the finish line. Sending hugs, my friend. |
Hugss again, good luck with the neuro... wishing someone would take me seriously too hehehe oh well for me, but hoping for her she can get figured out fairly quickly... hugsss, sarah
|
Trish, I am so sorry I just found this - prayers coming your way. I hope you get the answers soon!
 |
:hug:prayers coming your way for your dd .:hug:

I put a call in to my neurologist to see if they would see her as she is only 17. I am hoping they will. They do have a pediatric neurologist but since she will be 18 this summer and it seems like it is an ongoing issue, I would rather have her start out with a non peds neurologist so she doesn't have to switch in a few months. Now, I am just waiting for a call back. Again, thanks for the prayers. |

trish,
i'm a bit late on the uptake here about your dd. i'm glad that it's being followed up in a "real" manner. i hope you both get some sensible answers. in the meantime i'm sending both of you my best thoughts. |
Hi Trish, thanks for the updates in here. I am following it closely. Give your daughter a hug and kiss for me. I am glad you are going to be proactive and I sure hope the neurologist will comply. This is truly not what a 17 year old should be dealing with.:(
|
Trish,
So sorry to hear about DD's problems...just caught up on this thread. Glad to hear the doc took her sxs seriously, and I hope that they can figure out what's going on... in the meantime, know that we're all praying for both of you...:grouphug: |
Just an update on DD17 - She is starting to do better. She fatigues easily though and only has slight dizziness when she moves her eyes. We have a neuro appt next month. In the meantime, I'm trying to keep her relaxed, focused on her school work as she only has 1 week of school and then graduates, and off the internet searches. We all know how that goes.
Again, thank you all for your prayers and well wishes. |
