**** Hit The Fan!

I've been real proud of how I've handled the stress, with all the carp that has rained on my parade, lately, but today was the kicker....the straw that broke the camel's back.:thud::hissyfit::Crowded::Sob::Crazy 2::deadhorsebeat:

I won't bore you with a repeat of the whole list of cat's-asstrophies, but today they brought my new washer And they have to reschedule....wanna know why? Of course you do.:p ....

My chairlift to the basement, which they fixed last week:rolleyes:, wouldn't move, so they couldn't get the washer past it..:mad: If that wasn't enough, the lift repair place tells me that my lift is out of warranty and it will cost me 75.00 for them to come out.

I cried my face off, right in the poor girls ear...LOL. After I made her feel as bad as I could, I explained the week I had had and she immediately understood and wondered how had lasted so long.

I'm all over it now and looking forward to my next surprize...NOT!!:D

Thanks for letting me get that out...EEEEEK!!!

SandyC 05-01-2009 10:04 PM

Sally, it wouldn't move at all or they couldn't get passed it? If it wouldn't move as in it's broke then I am sorry. Does it have a manual release when the electric wont work?

I can tell you with almost 100% confidance if you have enough head room that they could have laid the washer on the chair lift on it's side and guided it down if it could move down the track. How do I know this? I had the same problem and figured if the chair could hold 250 lbs it could hold a washer, dryer, treadmill, gas water heater, packed boxes, etc. LOL

The other thing is couldn't they lift it over the chair and then carry it down? I've done that too on occasions when something was too heavy to guide with the chair.

Aw Sal,

Here's my shoulder, get it all out, after all, it's Friday! Now have a nice margarita.

:hug::hug::hug:Sally:hug::hug::hug: :sorry:

karousel 05-01-2009 10:21 PM

((((hugs)))) You need a break!!! Have another margarita!

AfterMyNap 05-01-2009 10:26 PM

Aw, crap, Sal. Methinks that upstairs laundry theory we talked about might be a real possibility now. Get some rest.

Here, I poured you another margarita with extra salt.

Taffy 05-01-2009 10:50 PM

Well, take it as a sign that you should not have to do laundry anymore.:D

Did that help?

It didn't?

Oh....................................

tkrik 05-01-2009 11:03 PM

(((Sally))) - I am sorry! You had a horrible day! I hope tomorrow is much better.:hug:

Erin524 05-02-2009 12:12 AM

If you keep pouring her margaritas, she's going to get all schnockered. Which, really after the week she's had, probably would not be a bad thing.

Pass the Jose Cuervo...

Judy2 05-02-2009 12:44 AM

Awwww Sally, I feel your pain...:( Doesn't it always happen that way? One thing after another. On top of my remodel job, new batteries for my "downstairs" scooter, my stairlift died which ended up being new batteries for it, then new batteries for my "upstairs" powerchair at $150 each (2), then one of the motors died!! Somehow I never realized that the batteries have to make 'something' move....duh....there are two motors. All in all, it cost around $1,500 just to keep me moving. :( Hopefully it will be something easy to fix with your stairlift!!!!

The PROJECT IS FINISHED!!!! Just in time for me to crash! Getting up at 8 am everyday being a nightowl, having people here all the time, making decisions, etc.....it was fun, but exhausting.

Do you happen to have any of those margueritas (sp?) left????

Here's to better days ahead!!!!:)

Kitty 05-02-2009 12:51 AM

Wow Sally....if you're still up (or conscious after all those Margaritas!) I just wanted to let you know I'm sorry about all the carp you've been dealing with. When it rains it pours. :(

I hope things seem a little better tomorrow.

SallyC 05-02-2009 10:32 AM

Thanks guys for the sympathies and hugs and stuff, I needed it..:grouphug:

My main worry right now is the wet dog smell that is starting to radiate from my basement.. There are wet clothes an stuff down there that can't get to and can't wash...YET, even if I could get to them.

I sprayed a big ole towel with Fabreze and threw it down there......maybe that will help a little.

DD is going to take some of the wettest, stinkiest items, back to her house and wash them...Yeaaaaa!!

I'm drinking Asti and eating leftover bourbon balls.......Diarhea is probably my next surprise..:paperbag: :D

tkrik 05-02-2009 11:35 AM

Sally - That is so sweet of your DD! How lucky you are to have her.

Now ease up on the Asti and bourbon balls. You don't need any surprises that may entail more laundry right now.;):D

DM 05-02-2009 02:27 PM

It's tomorrow now, so things just have to get better, Salpal! I don't know anything about chair lifts, but we moved my laundry room upstairs a few yrs ago and I'm so glad. Of course, I was getting down the stairs the hard way, so DH said that was enough and I had the bumps and bruises to prove it.

Pass the bourban balls; I haven't had one of those in yrs.

take care my friend.

Guilty!!! I think he was just looking ahead! Besides, he hates ER's. :D

And, why do homes usually happen to have 13 steps; AYUP, there's 13 going to my basement. I usually only hit about 5 or 6 when I tumble down them anyway. :D

When I think of basement laundry rooms, I always remember the part in the Home Alone movie where Kevin takes the dirty laundry downstairs and the furnace resembles a monster to him.

Don't go downstairs Salpal!!! There's a monster down there!

Feel better now, Salpal?

Good news....the chair lift guy came out and spent a whole bunch of time fixing it. He said that the other worker had not done his job properly..... and he didn't charge me a dime.:yahoo: He told me he would explain to that meany, who said she was going to charge me:mad:. He said she is always short until she has her 10th cup of coffee..:p

My new washer comes tomorrow and my hunk got A discount and paid for it himself..:yahoo:...this is the guy who did my bathroom (he works at Home Depot on the weekend)

I'm having a bunch of men in here this week...yesterday, the stair guy, today my garage door opener guy comes to replace my faulty old opener (good Price), tomorrow the Schwans guy and the washer guys....thursday, the pest contol guys to get rid of my Mouses that stayed for dinner and have overstayed their welcome.:p

Friday I will need my rest..LOL! I may have to let Johnny Depp out of my bathoom....I think Sandy needs him back...:D

SandyC 05-05-2009 11:50 AM

That's right you have to share! LOL

Good to hear you got a great repair guy to fix the lift right!

I had ants in my kitchen this morning. Not sure where they came from but I sprayed so much I started choking. LOL Guess I know what I am doing today.

*tkrik dialing a stair guy, garage door opener guy, Schwanns guy, washer guy, pest control guy, plumber, carpet cleaning guy, etc.* Hey, I need entertainment. LOL

Glad things are coming along for you Sally! That is great to hear.

Kitty 05-05-2009 12:04 PM

Sally, are you sure you aren't going around breaking things just so these men will have to keep coming back to do "repairs"?! :Hum: :Dunno: :Grin-Nod: :smirk:

Grizabella 05-05-2009 12:41 PM

Ahhhh, the Schwans guy! Now there's a guy you can rejoice over! Makes all the repair bearable, doesn't it? :D

So, is your new washing machine there yet? What other studs do you having coming today?

SallyC 05-06-2009 01:26 PM

Whooooaaa there, Sally! Calm down, breathe, and quit giggling like a school girl or the trashmen will think your foolish and look the other way. :D Offering them a nice cool drink is more effective and entertaining.;):D

DM 05-06-2009 03:27 PM

AHA!!!! So, that's where my Johnny's been hiding OR should I say held hostage??? You are so busted Salpal!!!!

I always suspected you liked them dirty. ;)

SallyC 05-06-2009 05:30 PM

Guess what?? that black cloud has not yet moved on. The washer guys were here and could not get the chair lift to work again..

The chair lift guy is here now and found that the circuit board is faulty. I get a new circuit board...no charge..:)

I'll let you know when I finally get my new washer..:eek::p:wink::D

HELP!!!!

SandyC 05-06-2009 05:38 PM

Just tell the washer guys to call first next time so you can make sure the chair is working! LOL

SallyC 05-06-2009 06:15 PM

The chair is off it's base and sitting at the bottom of the stairs, waiting for the washer guys. Not until the washer is installed, will the chair lift be fixed and running again.:D

I beg you all to now close your eyes and say a little prayer that this black cloud is lifted from over mah haid. Murphy's law has had it's way with me..I'm done, warn out and sick to my stomach..:(

Thanks..:grouphug:

tkrik 05-06-2009 08:09 PM

Saying prayers for you Sally that the cloud gets lifted.:hug:

NurseNancy 05-07-2009 10:37 PM

now surely all this has got to work out in the end.
it sounds like these people will stand behind their work.

i hate mechanical things and things with moving parts.

soxmom 05-08-2009 08:07 AM

+I hope that the cloud has lifted Sal.

SallyC 05-08-2009 11:48 AM

The washer is due tomorrow morning and the stair lift will be fixed on Monday, if all goes well???

The pest guy was out yest. and put some stuff around where he could, for de mouse. but has to be careful, because of pets and kids. We shall see??? (I tried the humane way for over a year.)

Don't Ask..:D

SallyC 05-09-2009 07:05 PM

OK, my washer is in the basement, all ready to go. I won't be able to use it until Monday when my stair lift gets fixed.:)

Just when I thought the black cloud was moving oft my haid, a little neighbor boy came to the door and told me that there was an live electrical wire blown down in my yard.. I called the elec co and reported it....sheesh!!!!

Oh, my electricity is not out, so a good thing did happen.:D
