Otto news!!!

Otto WALKED last night! Like a drunken sailor, but he wobbled across the living room floor before falling over!!!!

And he walked on his pads, he didn't knuckle!

It wasn't a normal walk, but he did it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

And if he wants to chase something and you pick him up by his tail, his hind legs are just a flyin back and forth!

I hope this continues!

The link to his story is below. He went down and has been paralyzed in his hindquarters since December. Had a surgery that cost $3000! He had a ruptured disc in his spine.

Otto's story here. :)

I just went and read your story about when otto first was injured, what a miracle he is! I think that our pets do become as important as human family members, but you have to be there to fully understand that. Good for otto!

Wow, Doody... what a joy to wake up and read this wonderful news.

That's just awesome! Thank you for letting us know. :D

Doody 05-02-2009 06:53 PM

Thank you all so much! Yes it is a miracle and it is awesome! He did it again today! Still looks like a drunken sailor (in fact, they call his walk the drunken sailor walk)! It's just been so heartbreaking this whole time because you just know he feels so confined.

Joy joy joy!

That is awesome news, Doody! I hope this is just the beginning of lots of good reports. Either way - he certainly has good quality of life and that is what counts.

Oh my goodness!!!! This just started my work week off in a MAJOR positive way!!

I just knew he would walk again!! It will take lots of time for him to walk normally, he may never be 100%, but what a great start!!

Oh thanks. :) Daughter and son-in-law have been the ones who have persevered! ..with daily massages and therapy.

I haven't given up hope that he can at least walk like a drunken sailor some day and guess that time is here!
