CareGiver...SandyC

I just watched a segment on Good Morning America about a recognition for the World's Best Care Givers.

SANDY C... YOU SHOULD HAVE BEEN THERE!!!!

So here is a 'little' recognition for you! I admire you. Jim is so fortunate to have you.

And to ALL of the rest of you wonderful caregivers, God bless you!

SandyC 05-04-2009 08:47 AM

Awwwww. That's so sweet! Thank you! I just do what I think everyone should do and that is take care of their loved one's in need. I never know how to respond to compliments about how I care for Jim and I hope you know I appreciate it so much. Thanks for the smile today!

I agree, God bless care givers and those they care for.

soxmom 05-04-2009 08:48 AM

Thats funny friend...I was thinking the same thing...."I wish I had
seen this and nominated Sandy"!!!

SallyC 05-04-2009 08:57 AM

I third the nomination!!! (((((((Sandy))))))):You-Rock:

azoyizes 05-04-2009 09:09 AM

SallyC 05-04-2009 10:02 AM

And here's to all the Caregivers. God Bless You!!:grouphug:

Kitty 05-04-2009 10:46 AM

I agree!! If I ever get to the point of needing full time help I'm moving in with Sandy! :D

SandyC 05-04-2009 10:53 AM

LOL OK, but first let me find a bigger house? LOL

*Thinking B&B*

barb02 05-04-2009 11:19 AM

Can I move in too? I prefer a house on the beach. :D

SandyC 05-04-2009 11:20 AM

I think we can arrange that Barb!

SallyC 05-04-2009 11:41 AM

Me too!!!:Trapeze 2::popcom::pepsi::sunchair:

kicker 05-04-2009 11:54 AM

Together we could buy a big house on the beach, Sandy could be our house-mother/caretaker and we (or our loved ones or SSDI or someone) could give her money every month. A career for Sandy and great for us!!

Kitty 05-04-2009 12:02 PM

I can see it now......."Sandy's MS B&B"! :D

SallyC 05-04-2009 12:10 PM

Hey, if we pay you enough, you might be able to hire a couple of cabin boys to help out..:p

Me? Meh, I don't need the money, just provide us enough to pay the utilities and groceries. Gotta eat you know?

Now, the cabin boys, yep, gotta pay the cabin boys! :D

Will this do?

Hi Sandy,

I agree completely with what Friend2U said, you are so great and a real inspiration to me and many others!!

I give you a lot of credit for being able to take such good care of Jim. I have seen how stressful it is at times for my mum and how upset she can get and I know Jim will really appreciate everything that you do for him and that it can't be easy for you sometimes.

Thank you for caring so much for Jim and for doing everything you can to help others also!! YOU deserve to have been nominated for one of those rewards on the tv show as a recognition for everything that you do!!!

Take care of yourself and please send Jim my love!

kicker 05-04-2009 05:05 PM

A pool and a pool boy too, and a rec room with bar and frig.

Sorry Sally. If your going to live in the B&B you have to agree to share. :D

Debbie D 05-04-2009 08:23 PM

But Sandy has to live in a house that doesn't have any bees around it...otherwise you'll never see her...she actually moves faster than the bees:D...I've seen her in action...believe it...

SallyC 05-04-2009 08:42 PM

Me too, I'm terrified of bees.

we must have a bee free haven...:p

Judy2 05-05-2009 12:02 AM

Late getting here as always, but Amen to everything that's been said about you Sandy!!! God bless you and all the other caregivers -- you're all such a blessing. This isn't a whine, just telling it like it is, life is really difficult when you're alone in our situation. I'd give anything for someone who really cared!

Now as to that beach house -- is there room for me? I'd love one of those rooms with a balcony so I could just roll out and enjoy the scenery -- minus any bees and bugs!!! As for that "masseuse" (sp?), bet he could do a great job on my legs!!!

Count me in!!! :) Love all those emoticons!

Friend2U 05-05-2009 01:01 AM

Judy,

That is one of my greatest fears...ending up being alone and my ms progressing. The way it is now my dh and I kinda take care of one another, he is a cancer survivor. So far, we have kinda alternated times when we have had setbacks and hospitalizations. Neither of us feel really great, but are thankful for the most part we get by. So everyone who has a loved one who can care for them is so so fortunate. We have so many blessings to count.:grouphug:

SandyC 05-05-2009 10:39 AM

NO BEES!!!!!!!!! *looking up bee killers*

Judy, of course you can come too.

Pssst. My biggest fear is getting sick that I can't take care of Jim. Shhhhhh.

kicker 05-05-2009 10:47 AM

My biggest fear is DH will get sick, weak, old - so he can't take care of me physically. He bumps my manual chair up curbs and porch steps, gets me up when I've fallen and cooks dinner. Luckily I have cleaning ladies - at that he has no interest. I don't think I can care-take now.
