Roll Call!

It's been awhile since the last one (I actually can't remember when). And also...what are your plans for the weekend? Mine are to hopefully relax and rest enough so I can get well before my trip to New York on the 23rd. I've had a cold relapse so its been 4 weeks now that I have been sick. I have alot of cleaning and planning to do this weekend. How about you all?

(((hugs))))

Alffe 12-14-2006 10:21 PM

:D So glad to see a roll call after all this time. *grin

tomorrow morning we have to deliver the food basket"s" to our adopted family...

I plan on going to Curves....unlike today...:o

I am having lunch with my sister....

Sunday morning, church...Mr.Alffe is singing in the Catada...sp???

and we are going carolling in the afternoon.

Julie 12-14-2006 10:38 PM

I have got to bake, bake and then bake tomorrow. We have our neighborhood ladies group, The Queens of the Springs, cookie exchange on Saturday from 2 -5 and then at 5:00 we have the PTA Christmas party until 7:00 and then...lolol we have the Married Couples party at one of the church members home. We have church on Sunday which will be our last week to teach for a long time...thank you Jesus. Then Monday afternoon - evening we have the first annual Reindeer Games at Robert's school. It looks to be a fun time for the kids. Robert gets out of school at noon on Tuesday...wooo hooo two weeks of sleeping late. Yahoo for me.

Oh and inbetween all that, I'm still homeschooling Michael.

~KELLWANTSANSWERS~ 12-15-2006 10:04 AM

I get to do some MORE cleaning.Yay for me{insert sarcasm}
Turns out my 3 cats have fleas...
I had to bathe all 3 of them in flea shampoo{twice} only to find out last night that my 2 lil ones STILL have the nasty lil bugs on them!!!!!
I shampooed my carpets and washed all the bedding and i do believe i have washed just about every towel i own.....

So i called the vet and she said for me to come in and get this pill {3.99 each}that will kill the fleas in 30 mins....I wonder why i didn't call yesterday??
However,it's not quite that easy.I also have to go purchase 3 packs of advantage drops at $16.00 each.Merry christmas kitties!!:)

I saw my kitties scratching-but i thought it was dry skin-because they weren't scratching profusely.Until night before last when my daughter saw a bug on one of their faces!!
So if you have kitties ,even if they dont go outside-check them often!!
So my big plans for this weekend is to vacuum the matresses and floors and finish the laundry..I have kept them in one room since night before last...I feel sooo bad for not noticing this sooner!!!!!!!!!

Hopefully i can get my christmas shopping finished on sunday....
Anyone wanna trade duties with me this weekend??Haha

Alffe
Christmas caroling..I haven't seen anyone doing that in a very long time...And..
Taking food baskets to your adopted family.
Now that is the true holiday spirit!

Julie
You are gonna need to rest after your weekend..LOL
Wish
I hope you feel better
{{Hugs}} to all of you..
Have a great weekend!

FeelinGoofy 12-16-2006 01:47 AM

My weekend started with a Christmas party tonight with the BUNKO team i play on. Tomorrow we decorate the tree.... (i hope) we've had our tree up all week, but havent found time to decorate it. Then off to the mall to buy gift cards for all of Rebeccas friends...
Sunday is church and hopefully i'll find time to do some baking. or maybe i'll forget the baking and just take a nap.... maybe i'll do both...

Alffe 12-16-2006 09:41 AM

ok so it's a new day.....Saturday

I have to make a feedstore run as we are getting low on birdseed and pig ears......Ms.Doody introduced Cooper to pig ears several years ago and he's never been quite the same...:D

Kell...I hope the fleas are gone..those dang things can make our pets miserable.....and it's going to be strange to carrole with no snow...it's going up to 50 here today.

Goofy I am so glad to see you posting and feeling better. I hope the party last night was fun.

We are going to a party tonight and it will be "difficult" as the host has a terminal brain tumor....:(

Julie...did you get all those cookies baked?

Curious...someone gave Mr.Alffe a box of chocolate turtles and so far, he has resisted!...wish I could send it your way. *grin

Scrabble I read in todays paper about those terrible winds...hope you are ok.

Sending hugs for the room....especially Jingle. (((Jingle)))

Julie 12-16-2006 11:57 AM

Yes Miz Alffe I baked all those cookies. I'm supposed to bring back that many too, I just don't know if they make that much chocolate...lolol. I made about 150 cookies so that my kids would be happy too. I slept in today, but I'm not sure if you can call it sleeping in because I woke up sooo many times.

Alffe 12-17-2006 06:54 AM

Well here it is Sunday....

I can hardly wait to see Mr.Alffe in a choir robe..:D
He's so funny...when he agreed to sing with the choir for this Cantada he naturally assumed he's be singing the melody. :D NOT!...he can't read music so has a lot of trouble he says (also gets red in the face at not "being the best ever" LOL....well you got to love Mr.Alffe cause no one tries harder. The BEST singer in the choir is our vet, David...so he said he'll sing loudly in Mr.Alffe's ear and maybe that will help. I'll try not to giggle.

After spending time with our dear friend Rex at last nights party I feel that I don't have the right to complain about anything....ever. He has an inoperable brain tumor that's gone active again. Rex gave the blessing before dinner and said that every day is a gift, that he loves us and thanks us for our prayers. He's been living on borrowed time for over a year and does it with such Grace.....such an example of what we should all strive for.
...that attitude of graditude.

I don't think I have ever felt a hug like that...it spoke volumes.

FeelinGoofy 12-17-2006 07:38 AM

It makes you think doesn't it? It makes a person realize how fortunate we are.

Curious 12-17-2006 08:57 AM

welll...you tell mr alffe he has to send me those turtles...cna have that singing vet find out mr alffe eats turtles. :p

i am busy with another garage sale this weekend.had an extra expense that i hadn't budgeted for. oh well. made the money, got my car fixed. and extra money to boot! hubby is actually setting up right now. i am sitting here with haircolor on. lightening up just tad. :D

sistermonkey comes home for christmas on thursday. i am soooo excited!!!! we are still trying to figure out the logistics of how christmas is going to work. she is only going to be here for a few days. this will probably mean that i will have my X here for christmas too.

grandmonkey is sick. coughing and his voice keeps going in and out. which btw he thinks is funny. he better NOT breath on me! yeah right..he is a meme's boy.

i wish i had snuck over and snitched some cookies from julie. :p my plans are to get my fudge done tonight.

(((Hugs))) for everyone. i hve some catching up to do!!

FeelinGoofy 12-17-2006 03:11 PM

alffe, how did the Cantada go???? I bet Mr Alffe sounded great :)

Alffe 12-17-2006 03:55 PM

Well, since you asked... I need to give you a little background here. Our church is VERY small and our regular choir is tiny...about 10 on a good Sunday..and..how can I say this..The Vienna Boys Choir they are not. :o

Every Christmas we have a Cantada...and the choir director pleads for anyone in the congregation to join in the production. So to have a choir
of 25 voices this morning was just HUGE for us....and loud. Mr.Alffe asked me how he did and I said, "I couldn't hear him...that was a good thing...he blended right in".

We all enjoyed it...now if Mr.Alffe will just stop circling me...:D

Doody 12-17-2006 05:10 PM

I'm here kinda.

Spent the whole weekend at Granddoody's house and babysat him last night.

This morning mommy and daddy slept in as grandma took care of little doody. He loves me now I know. He knows who I am. We bonded a lot this morning, giggled and laughed and had a ball.

Last night after din din, grandma bathed little doody. He was happily playing with his tub toys and prattling on and on to me in some foreign toddler language. Suddenly lots of little bubbles popped up behind him and he looked up at me and grinned a big grin.

Following said bubbles, grandma saw 2 little turdies float to the top. LMAO! :D

hsiw 12-17-2006 11:20 PM

ewww

Can't believe the weekend is almost over. So what are your plans for the week? I have a LONG to do list to complete before I leave Saturday. Including buying a few more Xmas presents and packing. I have to finish cleaning and drop off a load at Goodwill and the library. I hope I have enough time to get everything done since that means I have to wake up early to do it all before work or late at night. :Sigh:

Idealist 12-17-2006 11:45 PM

Okay, so the weekend's practically over. But I thought I'd check in anyway. I hope you all got your plans carried out in fine order, leaving you set for a wonderful week ahead!

Curious, how many garages DO you have, BTW?

Kell, I hope you finally got every last one of those awful little fleas. I know what an aggravation that can be. :o

Alffe, how DID the mister look in his choir robe? :D Maybe Miss Monkey will share one of those turtles with me...;)

Or maybe Julie has a leftover cookie? We had to bake tons of them for a bake sell for our daughter's library club, but I didn't get a one...:(

Most of my weekend was taken up with my daughters' annual Christmas dance performances. But they looked absolutely great up there on stage.

I wish everyone a great week, and lots of {{{{{hugs}}}}}.

Curious 12-18-2006 12:32 AM

i have 3 1/2.... hehe...errr...had...me thinks i finally sold the last one. :p

congrats daddy idealist on your daughters dance performances.

LOL...doody...granddoody earned his name huh? (((hugs)))

Alffe 12-18-2006 07:08 AM

Idealist...he looked "angelic"....:D Bet your dancer did too.

Doody.....ROFL...the water was too hot!

Curious are you spending your birthday in the kitchen???...:o

Wish, don't work so hard that you can't enjoy the holiday!..(((wish)))

Doody 12-18-2006 07:45 AM

In fact, it doesn't matter what the temp of the water is! Actually, it was too cool because mommy and daddy had both taken showers, the dishwasher was running, and so we had a very warmish bath. LOL Turdies come in all temps!

Off to work I go again.

~KELLWANTSANSWERS~ 12-18-2006 06:18 PM

I think i got all em all..But everyone knows how it goes with fleas!!!
I have to vacuum everyday for the next month and stay on top of things!!
What a nightmare this has been......
I am sure it could have been worse though..We dont have flea bites on our legs or anything..but i sure have cleaned an awful lot..LOL

Alffe i would have loved to been able to hear the choir sing:)
Whether you could hear Mr alffe or not.I am sure he looked absolutely
handsome up there in his robe "looking like" he was singing loud..heehee
I haven't been to an old fashioned church singing in ..well...too long!!

Doody you made laugh reading about grandoody lil floaters...LOL
I dealist
I know you were proud of your girls!!!
I bet they were happy to know their dad was out in the audience watching..
I had a very good visit with my son yesterday..Long overdue actually.
I worry about him.He is so young with the weight of the world on his mind!
I'm happy to hear everyone had a good weekend.
This is the last week before christmas....
Shoppers will be out and about..Be safe everyone!

Alffe 12-20-2006 06:52 AM

Well here it is Wednesday already...time is flying by. It just doesn't seem very much like Christmas without the snow but then I think of places like Florida that manage nicely without the white stuff.

I spotted the little deer again at church...am taking another corn block over even tho that ground isn't frozen.

I had to make another batch of cereal snack because Mr.Alffe got into it..:p

My sister was cleaning out her closets and found a stack of old journals my Dad had written. She was so right about not being able to put them down. I'd forgotten what an intellectual he was and I just adore the way he expresses himself....the weather was "raw", they had a "visitation"..a raccoon. LOL And he raged about LBJ and the VietNam War.

It's nice to be "back in business" here...missed this place.

Doody 12-20-2006 12:05 PM

Lordy, Alffe, your father and I would have gotten along just fine! I'll never forget the day my group of friends and I sat in a lounge at the local student union and watched LBJ announce he was stepping down. I think they probably heard our yells and cheers across town.

Like I said...summary of doody's life..... :Demonstration:

Yes, it is Wednesday and am I mistaken or IS time actually going faster? I've even heard youngsters talk about how fast the end of this year has come. I think there is something going on. Somebody's messing with time and not tellin us. Conspiracy!!!!

:Demonstration:

My last couple weeks have been busy and exhausting. Actually, since before Thanksgiving when the second segment in my coccyx fractured from my fall. Pain galore and now that's settling down. Dad in the hospital. Me rarely being in my own bed at night either helping mom or staying with the kids because of their current 'lack of' cars crisis.

So, reporting may be difficult at times, lol. Let's see, tonight staying at kid's house. Poor son-in-law has to leave at 5 am tomorrow morning for a Packer's game in Wisconsin. Pity the poor boy. Daughter has to be to work at 7 am. So grandma is staying the night to get granddoody ready for babysitter and travel the half hour back to my work.

Thursday night, same. Friday all day with Granddoody.

I'm glad as can be I have a massage Friday at 4:30.
