Not sure about the poll...
But, I am retired...not by choice... as are many people here at NT. But I do enjoy getting to go to church "most" Sundays. I spend a lot of time reading my Bible and thankful I have this time for that.
I don't do as much cleaning as I could. I guess my priorities are different. I spend more time with my grandbaby and rest of family. And I am enjoying doing a lot of "puttering" around with little things that I didn't use to have time for! Good question!:) |
taking my mom to appointments, the store, whatever. Doing things with my parents. Helping my dad with stuff.
For recreation, I read, crochet, knit, sometimes sew (with a machine), go out on dates with the boyfriend. Play with computers, go for walks, sit in the sun in the front yard (as long as it's not over 88* outside, otherwise I can only do that for 10 or 20 minutes) Most of my recreation time is crocheting, knitting and reading. I can read and crochet at the same time. Or, I can knit and read at the same time. I love to make stuff. |
I spend most of my time around the house - cleaning, taking care of pets, online (either forums or looking something up). I always have something going on here. Seems like I'm either getting ready for a holiday or I'm taking advantage of the nice weather, hanging at the pool or digging the flowers.
Lately i've been splitting my time online house hunting and tearing the house to shreds. Packing, boxing for garage sale, throwing stuff away. What a disaster! :D Much more fun than the same ol' dusting and sweeping though. |
I'm the Computer/TV Queen!!!:D:cool::D

Hi Faith,
I'm not unemployeed and still go to School although I have quite a lot of free time as I only go 4 hours a day, 4 days a week (Monday-Thursday) at the moment. I'm sure all of that will change though in September when I am going to college to participate in the Health and Social Care Course. In my free time, I usually spend quite a lot of time on the computer on my site and Neurotalk and social networking sites such as Facebook talking to my friends. I also like card making and scrapbooking so I enjoy doing that when I get time also. I also try and catch up with some of my studies that I have missed during to hospital appointments, not feeling too good etc. I am one of those people that gets bored really easily so often need something to do. I cant go out that much now so am in the house most of the time which can get really boring. I watch movies on TV also. I enjoy watching films when i'm not feeling too good as they always tend to cheer me up a bit. I hope you're doing well and find something to occupy you soon! :-) ! |
I'm pretty picky about my house being neat and clean....so I do spend quite a bit of time cleaning, doing laundry, etc. It takes me longer now but I have the time to do it. I also spend alot of time taking care of my pets and outside birds.
Now that I have the time I like to cook and try new recipes. I also love to read. Some days the TV doesn't even get turned on. |
In a chair, confined to deck & yard until sidewalk to drive off deck ramp done) unless strong DH is home (BUMP-BUMP-BUMPS me down porch steps in manual W/C and out - stores, dinner, etc.) 2 kids home by 2:30 (17, they go at 7:15 AM) seldom TV, read, movie on occasion (chick flix DH will not watch), putter, stuff I don't know about until it happens.
Once in a while (not often - phone calls, visitors, pets, cats bring in chipmunks or birds (dead or alive) clean kinda, organize what I can. Depends |
If I had enough stamina and ability, I'd be right there with you, Kell..:)
However, the first thing I do, in the morning, is turn on my TV nd then my PC....then....I go to the bathroom, let the dog out and feed him.. If I feel like it, I do some laundry, mop the floors and dust the furniture. On most days, though, you could literally eat off my floors and sign your name on my funiture..:D I think I have my priorities straight.. :p |
I eat bon bons and watch soap operas. Period.

I might have a new hobby if I can find a poodle puppy soon. Saw a nice one the other day, but my dad didnt like her (showed him pictures on my cellphone, he wouldnt go look at her with me and my mom tho)
If we get a new puppy, I'll get back into the hobby/job of dog raising and taking the dog to obedience training. I did that with my old dog, and that was hard work. (he was 100+ pounds, and a practical joker. Ever see a dog laugh?) The new dog will hopefully be a miniature poodle, so it wont get anywhere near the size of my last dog. Hopefully that means it wont be near as much work. I loved obedience training my last dog, so hopefully the new dog will be just as fun to train. (poodles like to please their owners, my last dog didnt. He always wanted to be pleased by his owners. He liked being bribed...but he was fun) |

If you asked my DH, that's what he'd say about me! :D I do keep the house neat and clean, I'm on top of laundry, and spend a lot of time doing things for my DD. But there is much room for improvement in the clean house area. As soon as I find the energy, I'll deal with it! I try to spend a lot of time reading. It keeps my mind sharp (as sharp as a marshmellow:p). |
All of the above.
I volunteer. Do church stuff. exercise, play on the computer, cook, clean, sew, and putter. some days are more active than others, and I allow my gas tank to determine how I will spend my day. If I have a full tank, I get loads done, if not, I watch TV. You learn to adjust. |
I do pretty much everything except watch TV. I rarely watch live TV anymore. I record two shows and watch on Saturday night.
I don't volunteer as often as I use to because of fatigue. |
I take my elderly inlaws to dr. appts., shopping, etc. We usually go over to their place once a week to have dinner, fill their med trays and play cards.
I try to work out a few times per week. Also try to do some homework...that's low on the list... I also have to do the mowing, pond work, etc. I also try to do the cleaning, but that's getting more difficult as my stiffness has increased. Not much fun...one of my goals this year is to incorporate more activities that will be fun for me, instead of obligations... |
I didn't see "naptime" on your list http://www.mskurmudgeonskorner.com/f...s/insomnia.gif..

Wow! How could I have forgotten that?! Fatigue is one of the main reasons that I'm on disability. ~ Faith |

Naptime is a must and that takes a good 2 hours out of my day.;) Also, while a clean house is great, due to muscle fatigue and such I have lowered my standards on that one. Still, I try to accomplish 1 cleaning task a day. Hobbies wasn't on the list but in reality that is what I spend most of my day doing. Whether it be reading (just read a great book on the history of signs and symbols), artwork, or refinishing/refurbishing/repurposing small pieces of furniture that people have thrown away (:o sorry but "dumpster diving" does have some benefits and I have sold a few of these fixed up pieces). I am busy doing something with my hands all the time. |
Ooooo. Mmmm. Bon bons.
I just gained five pounds by simply typing that. :Dunno::Dunno::Dunno: |
I do it all, LOL! Some days I putter, some days I nap a lot. Spend time online. And I paint.
Pretty boring most of the time :) |
Love your avatar, Fin!! You're a purty Gal..:)

Thanks, Ali. Actually, I responded to the poll, too, and have lots of stuff to occupy my time. Was just curious about what others do. Sometimes, I feel guilty, because I receive a disability check for doing nothing. Also, because I think that I spend too much time on the computer. Lol. But, I do lots of volunteering, too. And other things. ~ Faith |

I took several years off of school when we got preg. I went back in Aug. of this year, about didn't finish bc of the whole attack issue. I did my student teaching in January and I graduated in May.
FINALLY! I'm not cetified yet bc I need final test... but I am not planning on going back until Bella (our almost 4 year old) is in school full time. Both of us working full time was awful and didn't work for us. More power to those that can handle the juggle, but we don't like it unless absolutely necessary. Nevermind we payed a ridiculous amount of money in child care. So I am at home with Bella until further notice. I'm busy with that and trying to be patient with these terrible 3's (terrible 2;s my foot!!) and running errands, cooking and cleaning and playing and everything that goes along with that. I am looking for a PT cleaning job or babysitting job that I could have my daughter at to make extra $. But I am tired and cranky here lately and I'm not real sure what direction to go. I want answers because we both want a baby. I really really want a baby... I don't know what to do about this new desire lately. Is it a bad idea to have a baby if I do have ms? |
