My red dots aren't painful but they appeared when rsd started. They look like blood blisters. Sometimes they'll turn into sores on me. I notice I get a lot of them, when my pain goes up or when I'm on my feet a lot, sometimes both. I occasionally get them on my fingers too. They are their one for a few days and then gone, then come back, rinse, repeat. lol

bobber,
You said "little red dots." I get dots that are not much larger than a pencil point - maybe like a freckle. They happen on my leg and foot, where I have the RSD. It seems that they are more numerous during a flare-up. I have heard of others here that get even larger sores - about the size of a dime. Mainly watch that they don't become open wounds. Like any other wound, be careful about cleanliness and watching for infection. Mike |
These red dots...
Are they a result of diminished blood flow or something else altogether? Or are they another of the 'black box mysteries' the docs don't know about? |
I get two kinds of little red dots. (lrds)
The ones on my legs, seem to be where I have lost hair, what's left of a hair follicle. I have one or two that have gotten worse, and appeared to be like a pimple. I cover them with a band aid, and use neosporin, but they still leave a small but nasty scar.. Then, I have the ones that appear like little blisters. Usually around or between my toes. They appear to be the ones like Karen says, rinse, repeat, so forth... My Doctor, tells me it is "Classic RSD". Took pictures. But, there is no know treatment or cure, we're on our own, and to tell them what works best! I've tried, anti perspirant, powders, lotions almost everything, but, honestly haven't kept up with say, use alcohol on one leg, and powder on the other. Never done a real "test". Anyone know of something that definitively works? Pete |
Hi Bobber,
Besides the good information you have already received, I believe in the past 6-8 monrha there was some good info on red dots on this forum. I remember, because it was at the same time as I got a couple lesions with infection on the back of one leg. They took a long time to heal. Some of my red dots eventually turned into permanent browish-grayish raised moles. The itching was terrible I have full body RSD, so I had the Red Dots in my scalp on down to my legs. It's important to protect ourselves in the heat. So I put a high protective sun lotion on before going out. We live in Arizona. I have gotten rashes before from just being in the sun. Take care, and really be careful to keep them from being infected. Take care, loretta |
I have used rubbing acohol constant

red dots
I have tiny red dots that seem to look like (the beginning of) blisters or mosquito bites. Is this what other people have?

You could also imagine a little non-quite-healed scab from a pin prick, multiplied by several times. I sometime have only a few (10 - 20) but some people have them by the hundreds. Along with the alarming look, they have a feeling like you want to scratch (although not quite "itchy") and as you can see, there are a variety of suggestions on how to deal with them. Personally, I like a deep moisturizing lotion like Eucerin. Mike |

That's an ok King piece, but I much prefer the stand. Just think, 99.9% of all people gone, and we find out that rsd confers immunity...no overpriced meds, drugstores open all the time, and the housing options are awesome...colorado sure is a nice place to live...just stay away from trashcan man, k? :D
|
well one way out of this mess is get you guys to throw a blanket party on me with a #9 iron,,itd be a mercy killing,,,, then throw a party in my behalf,,,the drs dont know squat,,,as long as you have money and insurance ,your a sick man,,,when that runs out your healed!,,,what a life. i just came off the steroids and the red dots came back,,they were gone while i was on the prdnisone,,,and my legs look alot better,, but my money is riding on the Lord jesus to heal us,,,

I hope Jesus does heal us
I have found only one thing that makes it not stop hurting, but the pain lessen. I walked all over the ****** place saturday and sunday, and lemme tell you, it hurt like **** sunday night. Took my meds, went to sleep, got up and had a fairly hard day at work,(monday) bending at the knees, lifting and moving heavy objects, had shooting needles and stuff, but...it hasn't been as bad, almost like the more I use it, within reason, the better it is. I've had it settle down enough to not need any painkillers twice in the past six years, and in both cases, I worked it until it was better.(worked it every other day) I was on painkillers while I was working it, mind you, so it wasn't horrid, but over a period of months, it slowly seemed to get better and better, and I took less and less of the pills. This time when it hit, it hit very much harder. I don't expect any remission like I had before, but I do expect that it will get better if I have sufficient painkillers to move my body in a normal manner. I don't expect most folks can really manage this type of 'treatment', as their pain levels are, from what I'm reading, above mine. It's either that or I'm on enough stuff that actually works to make it possible. Dunno. Oh, I also was on prednisone, percocet and soma when this first started, as we were treating a supposed sprain/strain. I found it to be a very good combo, however, I had some odd effects from the prednisone. Usually it only occurs in elderly patients, but I had sorta a psychotic episode, talking to a friend of mine at work, I had the intense almost uncontrollable desire to behead him. It really messed with my mind. I almost instantly realized it was from the prednisone, and over the next few days I tested it by taking a quarter pill, seeing the effect, etc. It was. I am a Christian, and beheading an innocent with a knife is NOT something Jesus would approve of, I am sure. Anyway, I should also say the reason I believe my pain levels aren't hateful and it hasn't spread is quite frankly, I'm poor, and have been. I couldn't take off work to let the leg sprain heal, had to pay bills, so I worked on percs and soma for the first 5 months of it, and pretty much have worked labor jobs ever since. I credit that to my mild symptoms, and intend to continue making sure I use it whether I want to or not. I'm soon to lose my best job ever and take advantage of retraining money to attend school for puters, I guess, but I know I either have to join a gym(yuck) or get a second job doing something manual labor-y. Maybe a stocker at walmart, that would be enough lifting and stuff, without being over the line. Anyways, I hope this helped you some, and keep your head up, it could be worse, what with cancer and leukemia, aids and hepatitis, we're not that bad off. At least there is some hope that a modern medical miracle will help us, when you're told you have 6-8 months to live, that's not a lot of time for a cure, ya know? Well, gotta go, God Bless, hope yer pain diminishes, and I certainly hope you find some usefulness in this post. Later, Smoke

hello..
We should always watch for is shingle as it can run hand in hand with RSD aparently, so it is always a good idea for us to get any painful lesions (dots, bumps, rashes, etc) checked out by our doctor.
I tend to think that the red dots that look like blood blisters are to do with the inflamation side of RSD, and the other rashy ones are to do with flare ups. |
I've had the red dot thingies off and on for a few years... mostly on my legs... but more recently I've been getting them on my hands...
OUCH!!! they burn especially when they break open.... I've had them checked... tried anti viral medicines.. didn't work... was then chocked up to RSD. Abbie |

Self-diagnosis can be good, but also dangerous without follow-up. We should always pay attention --- who knows our body better than we do? A great example is a self-administered breast exam to discover a lump. But after we see something new, get in to ask a doctor. It may be something totally not related to RSD/CRPS and totally treatable. After the doctors shrug their shoulders and (once again) say “I don’t know, I’ve never seen that before…” is when we should look for more suggestions here. :) Mike |
Chained to a tree? lol
Yeah, I had read that too, but I think I sorta thought/read that it was more common in older folks...maybe not, read so many things, stuff gets mangled. Either way, I spent years getting control of my anger, dunno why, but I have one wicked temper. Genetic, I think, my whole family is like that. Kinda funny watching our 14 month old when he throws a fit. I guess that's mean. Anyway, I'm really sorry to hear you had the same problem, it worked great, cut the swelling, pain was down, etc, but...I can be a very dangerous man when I'm NOT nuts, ya know? Scared me when I was looking to kill someone who I was friends with, for the next few days, as it wore out of me, I took back roads, avoided some people I didn't care for well, stayed home mostly...for fear I'll end up using the insanity defense, I don't think I'll take it again. It really manifested in full blown psychosis in me, I heard voices and everything. I even tried a quarter of a pill per day, and it still made me nutso. I am totally not prejudiced, my friend has an awesome tan, (he's a black fella) but I kept hearing ****** over and over and over and over. Made me question myself, my sanity, and everything else. It was horrible. I told him later about the wanting to kill him, and he says 'well, I saw the look in your eyes, and never turned my back on you, knew something was wrong'. Smart man. As regards the nine iron, damn, you know how bad a way to go that would be? I have thought about my end, ya know, years from now, when I am too old to move much, when the pain will probably be out of control. Blunt force trauma to the skull never ever came into my mind as an option. Gotta get yerself out of that self destructive mindset, not good for you, or our condition. God Bless, Later, Smoke

hey smoke,
thanks for the concern,,,but you could swing by and pick up pete{aint so bad} and come over to snuff me out taking turns with the 9 iron,,,tell pete to wear his red dress and you wear mickymouse ears,,that way when the cops come,,they will let you guys go on a insanity snap. LOL.. im good now,,,but the prednisone help out with the red dots,,,they dissapeared. and the redness in my legs went away,,but it made me unstable,,,i didnt hear voices, but uncontrolled thoughts ran thru my mind,,,wow,,,ive heard of horra stories about steroids but i thought those guys were wacked anyway and used the meds as a crutch to get out from what they did wrong,,, i was close to losing it for about 2 days when i was heavy dosesing it like the dr told me,,,,as for you guystaking me out with the 9 iron,, at least you and pete have some fun whacking me [stress release like squeasing a stress balllol,,and id get a last minute laugh looking at you with the mickymouse ears and pete in that stupid dress,,,,,LOL,,,juust joking,, gotta take my mind off the pain,, i really hope and pray that God cures us all, i do feel better,,,,,,,,,bobber ps the dots came back when im off the prednisone |
hey smokey
Something just came to mind,,,when i looked at the home page of this site and went thru the picture thread,,,,,"NINE IRON ANALAGIA" seems to be theme for us all,,,expecially for those who have it bad,,full body,,,in their organs ive talked to quite a few of these people on this site,,,my what im trying to say is,,,,RSD is like these peoples bodies are being beat on by a rsd nine iron on a daily bases,,,one whack at a time,,,then just when you feel healed up after a day or two,,,you get whacked again,,,if i eat the wrong food thats bad for me on the 4f diet,,,i get whacked again,,,whelps everywhere,,,,,,so i guess that rsd is like getting whacked on a daily base;s,,,, " RSD " aka The "Nine Iron Disease" |
