Mass Email to Oprah for RSD Awareness
 

Make your voice heard. Email Oprah on 7/8/09. Never before has there been such a large effort of people banning togther for RSD Awareness. We have people joining this mission not only from the East and West Coasts of American but also, Canada and the UK! This is a group effort. Your extra voice could be the one to make us loud enough to be heard "A Plea to Oprah for RSD"

I don't mean to try and put down the effort, but there HAS been an effort made toward Oprah. In six years I've seen this happen at least 5 times. I don't mean to pessimistic either, but face it, in all these years no one has succeded in getting her to do a show on crps and probably won't. She's not interested in "people like us" because we don't have a happy ending, and we're not going to be miraculously "cured."

I once thought of all people Montel would do one on crps because he lives with MS. Did he? Nope, not even an acknowledment to anyone about it. "Mass mailing" him happened about the same number of times in the past six years as with her.

Who ever does it, I'll be cheering ya on from the sidelines and hope maybe this time it'll work.

Also if there is a show on this it needs to show the reality of what many of us face. I mean the doctor issues,the different failed med/treatments till one works,etc. Not a went to the doc tried neurotin and one is fine. That is great for the people that are lucky like that but when things just seem simple to fix it does not make it known how hard this is to fight physically and mentally. I agree too that many of like Dr Oz on Oprah there is great success from what ever problem that they suffered. It would be nice to get the word out especially to the medical areas. I hate it when I go to a non rsd doc apt for something and they are like what is RSD?

It's a good idea. What's Oprahs address? Do you have a specific topic, a main theme, that you would like every one to stick to? You're always going to get negative replies and they are always the quickest and largest segment to reply. Doesn't mean they represent the attitude of most people. They just like to let you know their feelings more than those with positive attitudes. No matter how often it seems our efforts are wasted we just have to continue. Like we used to say in basketball "Never up. Never in."

I wrote to Oprah about 3 years ago about this and actually got a letter back from her company. They said that she was no longer doing these types of shows. She her show from Chicago to California and now she obnobs with the movie stars and a lot of the shows are about movie stars anymore.

It might work if enough write to her but I don't think she wants the negative outcomes on there.

From Breezy55: It is a good idea,however remember when Paula Abdu (Sp?) on Amenican Idiol had RSD? It was all over the place. Yes I do think there are many places that we can send our e-mail's to. That were listed aboved my link.I wish that Oprah would respond to people with RSD! She talks about everything else. Like being over weight,cancer,diabetes,bulimia,etc.So many people just do not know how many of us have RSD all over the place! This is our main problem. Dr Oz might be a good place to start,but not when he is with Oprah! Not sure what else to do or say? Breezy55 RSD Full Body both sides. For 7 years now. Chroic IBS, L,Breast Cancer (beat! To all my fellow RSD sufferers...DO NOT GIVE UP HOPE! That's what this is about. So what if you got a rejection letter, does that mean you never try again? I'm ready to knock out hinges until I can kick that door down or any other door down to RSD Awareness World Wide. And yes, emailing "The Doctors" is a wonderful idea...perhaps that will be the next mission. I will not stop, I will keep trying...I plan to fight fight fight!!!!!!

Here's an idea of what to write to Oprah, if you choose to write your story, keep it short and inspirational. Oprah likes to make examples of people who make a difference, are hopeful and empower others.
