Sudoku

Has anyone played this? They sell puzzle books for it, and I also found timed versions of it online.

It's so great to help my focus and the time to pass when not doing/feeling well.

I'm addicted and just found out about it a few days ago. It uses brain power, but not too much. ;)

Hi Kimmy,

:)

online games have helped me increase my working memory a great deal. I love them.

I tried Suduko... but I think it's a little above me...

I like things like Jewel Quest...
http://www.gamehouse.com/onlinegames...ode=JewelQuest

it's at Gamehouse, in case the link doesn't work. They have another one that I really liked for awhile called Insphiration... something like that, and MahJong... the hours I've played Mah Jong... only they've changed the chat feature and not as many people talk as used to, at least when I've been there.

What a good post!!!!!!!

Oh, I love Mah Jong Garden at Pogo.com!

There's also a memory game there than can be done on a easy level with the word wonderland in the title. It's helped me alot as well!

Thanks for the feedback!

I usually love puzzle games, but for some reason I hate Suduko. I thought I would love it, but I tried it several times in several different books/newspapers, and each time I just didn't have any fun.

I do like fill-ins puzzles. They are sort of like crosswords, but instead of getting a clue and having to figure out the word, they give you the word and you just have to find where it goes on the puzzle. It sounds easy, and some of them are easy, but others are tough and you sit there counting letters and spaces just to try to figure out where the first word goes.

For computer games, I like a game called Zuma, and also the Mystery Case Files games (there are 2 of them, Huntsville was first, and Prime Suspects was the second). I think I got all of them from Reflexive games (free download, free 60 minute trial, then if you like it you can buy it).

Other favorite computer games of mine are Insanaquarium, Chuzzle, Bookworm, 7 Wonders, Brickshooter Egypt, and Ricochet. I get all my games from Reflexive or PopCap (in case anyone is wondering where to find these games).

Im a mornon who cannot figure out what the "point" is. I need someone to give me a morons guide to visiually "seeing" the point of this soduku game. Please! My third grader came home with homework like this! Looks, sounds like fun. My brain is burnt I suppose1

Oh, I'm going to look some of those up!!! Thank you.

I like sudoku because it's "light repetition". While caring for my nephew and my online responsibilities, home, etc., I don't have to focus too hard, but just hard enough to "relax". I've always used puzzles and the such with low concentration/focus/repetition to try to focus myself and relax.

I can't wait to google some that you listed! Thanks.

You know what, I used to LIVE at Pogo. I cannot understand how when one computer dies, as my old one did, it takes so much with it and it's so hard to find the paths I used to use all the time... paths to enjoyable times.

The chats there were good on the games I played most. I don't think Mah Jong was there way back then... but... I could certainly be wrong.

Hi KTM :)

Wellll. I played it on Gamehouse. And there, I forget how it works exactly, but when I put in numbers it accepted them in a way that was a clue ... but I forget.

I think that for people who love it, it's great because they remember strings of numbers, and using memory increases it.

but... it just isn't my game. (Back when I was a kid, they told me in school that I had a mental block to numbers... )

Good luck with it... I'm sorry to hear that it's homework...

Kimmydawn,

The games I like are all for the same reason - something to play to occupy my brain, while still being able to pay attention to the world around me, and games that take some concentration/intelligence but that don't give me a "thinking too hard" headache and don't frustrate me by being too difficult.

I like to have fun on the computer, but I don't like when a game consumes me by either taking all of my time or all of my attention. Like you, I play to relax..... so I have a feeling you will enjoy many of the games that I like. :)

Thank you so much! I do too. That's one reason I joined Pogo. They have a variety of games for, and at, all levels. :)

thanks again!
