Braintalk is Down for unknown period of time
I got an email from Mike Weins at Braintalk saying it is down, until John Lester comes by to fix it. JL has not been by in a yaer, so who knows when he will take care of it.
I'm just spreading the word so folks know. Some might end up here. Like myself! |
Hi BBS, we've been waiting for you..:) I hope the others come too. I haven't been back there in quite awhile....
It really hasn't been the same, since JL lost interest..:( I did my best to keep the place going, but now, I'm done. Thanks again Doc John..:hug::hug: |
This makes it sound like Braintalk is going to be down for a long time. Did others find this place from Braintalk, or did everyone else go to TIMS? Ken
|
Hi BBS, good to see a familiar face. I received same e-mail and was very sorry to find that out. There were some post I was really interested in, as were many others.
Hope to keep seeing you around. Virginia |
It was so nice when JL had time to have personal interest. He attended some of the gatherings that different groups had. He would write some comments, really nice guy.
Braintalk is what got me into a forum type atmoshphere for my MS. I had gone to a loal MS meeting when first diagnosed which torally bummed me out. I didn't want to see that I might be like 'those people' one day. But Braintalk showed me the real people behind the disabilities. So I thank JL and his vision for helping me. |

Hi Ken, Yes. If I recall, this site, NT, was developed when BT was down on an extended crash and many have stayed. Hi gang! I haven't been either lurking or posting much at ANY sites for quite some time (needed a break, you know), and had just started posting again on BrainTalk when it disappeared. I've actually met Doydie & Virginia in person at different BT gatherings - Spring Fling & Leafwatchers. :) I've missed some of the posters who've gone on to other forums a LOT, but I have trouble following more than one, and BT was my first. Wishing the best to old friends, current friends, and new friends. :) |
I am glad that I was right that someone here would know what is going on at BT. Thank you for letting us know.
Hi Susan and anyone that comes along and may recognize my name. I will go back to my lurking now. :) |

(And I met ladylurk at yet another BT bash - lunch in Maryland.) |
Hello and welcome to those coming from BT!
There is a thread on the Community and Forum Feedback about BT with updates: http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/thread95301.html |
I hope Mike comes back here where he belongs, too..:D
Hi Y'all Amember me...Salpalsally?? Welcome!!:) |
Hi to everyone who has found their way here, and sure glad that DocJohn set this up so people had a place to go the last time this happened. He (and his team) have done a great job of keeping it going, and making it a secure and valuable site since then too ....
Sure sounds like Mike is at the end of his rope in trying to be a one-man-band over there. :( Looks like potentially another long gap, if it EVER comes back. John Lester seems to have lost his passion for it anyway .... so maybe this will be the end of an era. Cherie |

Ken, this is a great place. Enjoy it. I come here all the time. Very, very pleasant place with nice people. Many you will know.
It has Stumble Inn, as you can see on the top, for Non-MS related talks and pictures. Doc John is a great guy.:) Hi Susan, Virginia, BBS, LL, and all who will follow the cookie crumb trail you left behind to come here. :Wave-Hello: |
Thanks for the great welcome. I think I'll just make this home if y'all don't mind.
Over at Braintalk, I ran a thread that helped people to feel supported and encouraged to keep moving. I called it the Swim, Exercise and Stretch Club. I would like to start one here too, but I think I'll rename it the Keep on Moving Club. Come join me please!! |
Well, at least I am seeing some familiar faces (or names) around here. That is really good. Would love to hear from a few others though.
Miss our chit-chat thread, and just wonder how all my friends on that are doing. I am glad that we are being welcomed here at NT, and thanks to Sally, Ken and others for doing that.:) Susan, I just had started to read your thread about what happened to you at work. Something came up and I had to leave it to the next day and did not get to finish it. Well, next day I couldn't get in the forum. Hope you are doing well. I was sorry I could not finish reading to see what actually was going on. I know it was a strange kind of migraine, but that's as far as I got. Virginia |
Hi ya'll! I've seen some familiar screen names and now you belong to us!:eek::eek:
*bwaaaaahahahaaaa* We have a chatty place just for MSrs up there in the Stumble Inn, and of course, a boards-wide social chat forum in the Social Chat Forum. Have fun, look around; you know the drill so jump (and/or flop) in, the water's warm. :) |
Thanks for the info on BT, BBS.
I see some familiar names, who will probably remember me as "newlyb12def." I hope I get to see more familiar names here soon! -Kay |
All together again!
Greetings All!
I just knew that when Braintalk went down again, folks would start checking back in here. I can't remember the last time I checked in, but I still remembered my password! Unbelievable for an MS brain full of black holes! Good to see folks gathering. This has always been a warm and welcoming group. It's nice to return for a while. Thank you for the warm welcome, once again. I hope JL makes his way to the office. :grouphug: for John. Blessings, PattiLee |
Hi Kay, Hi PattiLee, :Wave-Hello:
Welcome! :) I think AfterMyNap is planning on kidnapping you all. :D Virginia, if BT comes back it might be all erased like last time. Start all over again, remember? |
Hey Euphonia! Remember I was the liqour store virgin! We had a great time getting to know each other.
|
Welcome everybody! :) I joined here a couple of years back when BT crashed and was down for awhile. This is an awesome forum and well managed as well. It's nice to have continuity. I hope all the BT members will find their way over here.
|
Awesome! Welcome! There is lots of room here to share!
Smack* Don't sit there! That's my place! (kidding) |
Welcome to everyone who has come over from BrainTalk! I'm sorry it crashed , but I'm glad we're getting more people who seem to know a bunch of us here! :yahoo:
I know how much it helps to come to a new place and discover old friends. :) If any of you from BT are on Facebook, there is a growing number of us from here on there. :D |
I joined here when Braintalk was down a few years ago but have only occasionally checked in. Glad you are all here :)
I like the name 'keep moving'. Given the balmy soupy weather here in the Northeast today, swimming is a magical activity. -Susan |
Ah, another member of the Susan club heard from....Welcome Ssusan!!:) I'm a member too, remember, cause my Dad always called me SuzyQ..LOL.
I hope y'all stay here now,...this is home..:grouphug: |

It was pretty funny explaining that I was trying to meet up with a large group of people - no, I didn't know any of their names - no, I didn't know what they looked like, but I was sure that every last one of them looked really good. :) It was a great weekend! |

I had taken so much time writing the description, I ended up sending it to a few family/friends to give them a heads up if it happens again. Or, if it happens to them. Apparently the flashing migraine aura is extremely common, but generally harmless, I guess. I'm glad to see some familiar faces and names here, as well as new friendly ones! I think most of us panicked a little during the last crash, even those who don't post a lot. It surprises me how much I worry & wonder about people I only know online, but I do. Best to all. |
Thanks to finally resorting to googling braintalk to see if it was only me who couldn't access it, I found this!
What a bummer again! I used to be Mom2M and before that luckypup. BBS, I'll join you again in the "moving" thread! :) Thanks for the explanation of what's going on. Deb |
Welcome, LuckyMom..:)
|
Welcome BTers! I first went there for the ADD forum and then found everybody so supportive when my hearing loss turned to a possible MS dx. I ride in the MS150s now for the people who were (and still are) there online to support me in those first hours and days after I was DXed, and many of those people were the folks on BT. When BT crashed before, I found MSW and NT and haven't strayed too much since.
|
I am happy to announce that BrainTalk is back online and repaired :)
No John didn't do squat, I don't even know if he is aware that there were any problems  David Hosobuchi had enough access to optimize and repair the tables :) So the site is live again, it's going to be slow for a bit since all of the cache's were deleted. Once things get to running a bit quicker I will send out another mass email informing everyone that BT is back online. |
We miss you around here too, Mike..
