Visiting Braintalker

Hi, I'm Ken. I tried to post, but my posts don't show up. Seems odd to me. I thought I'd visit here since Braintalk is down. Are there Braintalk folks here? Ken

:welcome_sign:First off Ken I just wanted to welcome you to Neuro Talk. I see by your posts that you found our MS forum. We have a huge and very friendly MS group. My husband has MS...diagnosed 23 years ago. Need any help finding your way around just drop a line.

Hi Ken and welcome to NeuroTalk! :welcome_sign:

Welcome to neurotalk.

And in answer to that other question, many of us post in both locations, and many people moved here and use it as a "home forum" after the "big crash" a few years ago. (In fact, Neurotalk was originally set up for such "refugees".)

The reason new poster's posts don't immediately show up is that we moderate all new members, so the community never has to see any spam. Keeps us spam free, but it is a little inconvenient for new members who need to wait until a human reviews their post (usually done within a few hours).

Welcome to our community!! :)

Thank you Tamiloo. I'm a little rattled right now. I have been an on-again-off-again poster at Braintalk for a while. Thank you for welcoming me. Ken

Doc and Glenn, Thanks for explaining. Do you know if there are folks here on antibiotics for MS? This is my area of interest. Ken

Hi again, Ken! If you'll post your question in the MS forum you'll probably get more responses. Here's the link: http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/forum17.html.

I have MS but do not take antibiotics for it. Actually I've never heard of that. I take LDN and love it! :)

Hey there.

Welcome.

Just found out that Braintalks is down (don't know if they are ever going to be up).

You'll find new friends, old friends, all kinds of friends (and great info).

Again, WELCOME to Neurotalks.

Unfortunately the BT forums are having database errors and the site admins can't fix it without John Lester and he's still not around. So hopefully people will find their way here, There's no timetable for BT getting fixed so I am really grateful to Doc John and all the NT staff for keeping NeuroTalk up and running and spam free, that is so nice! :D

Gotta hand it to David H and Mike over there at BT for holding down the fort for as long as they did, hopefully John Lester will make an appearance soon and fix BT, if not, the PM system is still working so PM your friends everyone, tell them about NT...

Thank you all for welcoming me. I was wondering how everyone uses the "Thanks" button. I guess, at first I didn't know about it and now I wonder if there are rules about it, or if I'm supposed to do something when someone thanks me.

I hope its been ok trying to share my wife's MS journey here. Thank you. Ken

About the Thanks button...

It is used in various ways...
  • to say thank you for your post....
  • thank you for joining in a conversations,
  • thank you for bringing someones attention to a particular problem or question,
  • thank you for your encouragement,
  • etc.

It is also used by many to just say I read what you wrote but don't have the words to say anything... or some as myself sometime only have the energy to push the thanks button but wanted to let you know I care.

Please don't feel as though you have to reply to anyone's thank you....

:)

I just wanted to reflect back that I think this is really helpul.

At Braintalk when folks don't post back, it is easy to get the impressions that no one cares despite my efforts to share.

Here, even if no one posts back I can tell that there is interest, because folks are thanking me for posting. It's a pretty icky feeling to think that people are ignoring you. Thanking for the thanks! :winky:

Ken
