It's me I back !

Everything went great, they had to do two sites after all, not enough muscle in my lower leg, for multiple pieces. Sural nerve was done still in the lower leg, Muscle was done upper leg.
Cipro was chosen for my antibioic, I hope I do ok on that, hubby is picking it up after work. Will be two weeks for results, biopsies had to be sent to Childrens Hospital, for there specialized machinery to analyze this stuff.
I am still high, & my muscle biopsy painful right away, so I am in for a night of hell I believe, the nerve biopsy area, is numb down through my heal area, no feeling. I will keep you posted, how I progress, in case any of you need to have this done. But went so smooth, slept through the whole thing ! No MG effects ! I am so happy !

So glad

I'm so happy to hear thing went smoothly for you. Just remember to keep the muscle biopsy site iced, it will help so much with the pain. Even with pain Tylenol (which did help) ice was the only thing that really took the pain away. Just rest it will get better really soon, just a few days. I hope the recovery goes as smooth as the procedure did. Sorry they had to do multiple muscles to get enough sample though. Did they give you anything for pain?

Have some good rest.

Kristie

Hey Mary,

I am so happy to hear it's over and you slept through it!:D I hope you don't have much pain when the anesthetic wears off and you get a good nights sleep. Just get lots of rest and don't do anything. How long did the Dr. say it will take to heal? Let us know how things are going when you feel up to it. Take care.;)

Big hugs,
Pat

maryec 07-29-2009 04:25 AM

Redtail,
How did you know ! No sleep here last night, tossing turning, & pain ! The muscle biopsy is the culprit, those upper leg muscles are used for everything, getting to the bathroom, has me spouting a new language, all 4 letter words ! lol....... I just have to try & keep my leg elevated, & as Kristie wrote ice it.
This morning I am still good with the Cipro, & have done good with tylenol w/ codiene, tummy is a little upset, with the codiene, I will probably stop using that as soon as I can & switch to just tylenol.

Thank you all !
Mary

Owww Mary,
thankfully I never needed a biopsy, my neuro lookked at the blood results which were ach positive and also tested my muscles, and said with out a doubt it was mg, for which Iam forever thankful

Pat 110 07-29-2009 07:17 AM

Hey Mary,

Sorry to hear you didn't get any sleep. Do you have a name for this new language of yours. LOL I hope you have a better day today. Does it help to take the pain med with food? That upsets my stomach too and makes me dizzy. Take it easy and stay off your feet as much as possible. Hope you get a good nights sleep tonight. Take care.;)

Hugs,
Pat

Mary, Those biopsies really hurt. I'm glad yours is over and now all that's left is the pain and the waiting, which is probably more painful! ;)

When they cut into you like that, you get nerve damage. If you take some sublingual methylcobalamin for a few months, it will help with the healing. It's vitamin B12 that you put under your tongue and it absorbs directly into the bloodstream.

I hope you recover well. Please take it easy, it does take awhile to recover.

Annie

Ouch

Ow when I had my biopsy it was in the arm. I cant imagine having it in the leg in more than one spot. I am sorry. I hope the Cipro does not make you weak, it does me. Good luck and rest. I hope you feel better soon.

Maryec,
