Pet Surgery

My poor Princess is going to have surgery on Monday - she has a cancerous tumor on her front shoulder.

Kitty 07-30-2009 12:35 PM

Oh, Char.....I'm so sorry. :( But I hope the surgery is a complete success and she makes a full recovery. I know this is stressful for you (I'd be a wreck) but think positive thoughts. She's in my prayers.

ewizabeth 07-30-2009 12:49 PM

Aw Char, I'll say a prayer for poor little Princess and her Mommy too.

braingonebad 07-30-2009 12:53 PM

Hugs and prayers for your lil furbaby.

When we adopted Miss Millie, she had just had surgery on her left shoulder, six inch incision with several stitches still in - that's huge on a dog under a foot high. You'd never know it by the way she got around. Tough old broad, she is.

Hope your Princess does just as well. Keep us posted, okay? Hope you do okay, too.

Sorry about your sweet Princess's health problems, Char. (didn't know she was named after ME) I know how you feel, as my doxie's are older now and the 11 yr old is having some health issues and it makes me so sad. My ''girl's'' are sending puppy smoochies to Princess and YB.

ali12 07-30-2009 02:36 PM

I'm so sorry to hear that your beloved pet has to have surgery, Char! Our Springer Spaniel developed cancer when he was 12 years old and it was SO hard to watch!

I really hope that the surgery will help and i'm keeping you both in my thoughts and prayers ... I know you must be scared right now.

Take care and please keep us posted when you can!

azoyizes 07-30-2009 02:54 PM

Char, I'm so sorry. I'll be thinking of both of you.

Hang in there, Lambchop, she'll do just fine.

Ignore the little freak behind the sheer curtain.

Kitty 08-03-2009 03:42 AM

Lots of prayers being said for Princess today, Char. Please give us an update once you hear something.

yeahbut 08-03-2009 09:18 AM

Thank you! I dropped her of around 8 this morning should hear something by noontime.

braingonebad 08-03-2009 09:32 AM

Will check back for an update.

Sophie's surgery was 12 hrs! But she did fine - also had other stuff done, got *fixed*, had a hernia repaired. Her cancer had spread all over her abdomen, mamories, wrapped around bowel and bladder. Amazing they got that out. I never heard of dogs having mastectomies before, lol. She lived several yrs after.

SandyC 08-03-2009 12:19 PM

 for your furbaby

SallyC 08-03-2009 01:42 PM

How is the fur baby, Char?...I'm getting nervous..:)

yeahbut 08-03-2009 02:27 PM

everything is ok, we will need to wait till the end of the week to get the results to what kind of cancer she has. Going to pick her up now.

Kitty 08-03-2009 02:42 PM

Oh, good news, Char. One hurdle over with. I hope she has a restful night and isn't too uncomfortable. I'm still praying for her that what she has is easily treatable or, at best, curable. I know how much you love her.

braingonebad 08-03-2009 04:36 PM

Well, surgery is half the battle. Glad she's coming home. Gentle puppy hugs for her and her mommy.

I think she'll surprise you how well/fast she recovers. Dogs are amazing, like kids.

SallyC 08-03-2009 07:07 PM

Bless her wittle heart...Still praying and hoping for the best..:hug:

DM 08-03-2009 07:19 PM

She'll do much better once she's back home w/her Momma. I know how sad it is when our furbabies are ill. I'm going through some stuff w/one of my lil doxies right now and it really is upsetting. Hope Princess heals quickly, YB. *thinking of ya*

Jappy 08-04-2009 04:59 PM

Sorry I am late on this Char. I will keep the little fur baby in
my prays.

That is just what they are our little fur babies.

Jappy:hug:
