Prayers for Tornado Victims in Central Florida
Hi
we had been having unseasonable hot and humid weather for some time and then a cold front with accompanying thunderstorms came in on Christmas Day and the collision of the two air masses spawned at least 3 confirmed tornadoes, with the worst of the damage near Daytona Beach, although other areas were also hit. your thoughts and prayers are valued for the hundreds of people left homeless or with severely damaged homes and some with critical injuries. |
Chemar,
I was just watching the news about the tornadoes and the damage. It made me realize how much worse things can be for people. I join you in prayer for those who lost so much. While we were receiving new things, these people were losing everything. May the Lord be with them all.................... Judy I make refer to the Lord because of my religious preference, but I mean "one's personal higher power or belief system." |
I'm glad there was no loss of life. I hope no one dies as a result of their injuries.
My heart and prayers go out to those families who suffered such loss on Christmas Day. |
lots of prayers still needed for Daytona... and a state of disater being declared for these people..would be nice from the gov. and state too
. Peace and Love Burntmarshmallow |
hi Burntmarshmallow
According to our local news, the governor did declare a state of emergency for all affected immediately so that funds could be released and aid sent heartbreaking situation for so many that they are starting a new year this way tho:( |
thats my understanding too, chemar. Im about ten minutes from both places( deLand and daytona) boy was that a wicked storm. My brother had just arrived in daytona right after it happened on his way home for christmas with his ILS..it was a disaster is right he said.

Hi KTM5665
yes, it sure was a very scary day wasnt it? we are near Sanford/Lake Mary, and were glued to the weather forcasts on channel 13 all day.......got so nervous when the sky turned so dark and the winds picked up and sooooo much heavy rain etc...... I just ache for those who no longer have homes, and those who are dealing with damage. Looking at the photos of that apartment complex that was shattered, and those planes at Embry Riddle airport really showed just what an F2 tornado can do! I noticed that the Red Cross and United Way have started to collect donations for the victims as well, and I know local churches are doing all they can to help and house the homeless. Glad you and your family made it through safely! |
right they did declare disater. the olny way to get help after things like that.
salvation army taking donations too I gave cloths and $$$. not a big fan of the red cross. thanks for the prayers I know the folks need them . heck we still have tarps around my hood from the caines a couple years back.. before katrina! sad. I am in south daytona it was a hairy day on xmas. happy everyone ended up safe and sound for the most part... |

My name is Michael, and I would like to share in the prayers for the tornado victims.
He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in a shallow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, "He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust. Ps.91;1-2 |
