Headache/Facial Tightness

Hello Everyone, I am very concerned. I've had a headache (daily) for over a month. The headache is usually tension like, about 1/2 the time top-right of the head, the other 1/2 the time it is roving (it can be anywhere on my head). The headache is most mild - it last anywhere from 1 to 3 hours daily (usually in the afternoon).Along with the headache, I get facial tightness on the left side. It is not numb or drooping in anyway (cannot see any difference between the two side - it just feel tight when I move my face). I had a neurological exam and everything was fine. The neurologist scheduled an MRI just to be sure. I am now very concerned about the MRI - I am concerned that it can be a brain tumor (this fear has consumed my life for the last three weeks, waiting for the MRI). Has anyone experienced similar symptoms?

Hello gato,

Welcome to the NeuroTalk Support Groups.

I'm sorry you're experiencing these symptoms for so long.
Do you get any disturbances to your vision at all?
There are so many different types of headaches with varied causes and symptoms.
I get migraines from time to time myself and I know that there are many, many different types of migraines.

I'll leave the link below to the
Headache Forum

and

Occipital Neuralgia and other Cranial Neuralgias Forum For discussion of Occipital Neuralgia, Glossopharyngeal Neuralgia, Nervus Intermedius (or Geniculate Neuralgia), and Vegal and Superior Laryngeal Neuralgia.

There are some threads at the top of the forums and they contain useful links, resources and other information.

Hopefully your MRI is soon and your doctors can figure out why these headaches are happening. Try not to make yourself more ill just worrying about it. Easier said than done I know.

take care there.

Hi,

Thanks for the feedback...

no visual disturbances at all.
The only other thing that I can add is that the headache moves...sometimes temples, sometimes top of the head, sometimes sides of the head.
