QSART Anyone?

Has anyone had or know anything about this test? My neuro has referred me to the OSU Neuropathy Dept. at OSU for something called a QSART? I guess it is directed towards small fiber neuropathy which is his clinical diagnosis at this time. It's supposedly less evasive than an EMG for which I am grateful but it still cannot help to discern why I have this affliction in the first place. Oh well... at least I am getting into OSU. They have a great team of neurologists & I've never really cared for my current doc.

Yes, I have had that test, and it's pretty benign and quick. I imagine you have had a skin biopsy to check the density of your small nerve fibers in skin and in sweat glands? That was the precursor to my further testing. My laymans description is that qsart is part of a collection of autonomic tests (looking at nerve damage to autonomic nerves). This tests your sweat output and if mine was the same, they attach little electronic pods at 4 places along your body and stimulate your sweat glands so can read the output of sweat to gauge relative output as a gauge of how well your sweat glands are functioning. A compuer graphs the output. Whole thing is like 20min or so. At same time as part of autonomic testing, I then did a few other tests looking at my blood pressure and heart rate. All part of my SFN diagnosis.

I did this test in November but did not know the name. I believe they called it a sweat test. It included two other tests. A test that seemed like a lung capacity test where you blow into a tube as hard as you can. Also a test where they vary incline and supine positions and measure your vitals.
