I've been listening to a lot of women jazz singers lately. Here are the top 3.

Amy Winehouse (hope she can get her life together)

Anyone listen to someone else?

You might enjoy an artist named Lizz Wright. I have her last CD, "Dreaming Wide Awake" (there's one more after this) and I really think it's great. (Well, most of it....I'm picky! ;)) Anyway, on the CD I have she does a version of Neil Young's "Old Man" that is absolutely amazing!

Thanks Bearygood! I'm always looking for new music. I'll check her out. :D

Eva Cassidy--some of here songs are jazz.( I just love her voice, I have all her CD's)

Hope other people post --interested to see who they like.

Let me know how you like it! I thought that the CD had some weaknesses but some great tracks as well -- and that Neil Young song really knocked my socks off! (Also a great version of "A Taste of Honey".) BUT, songs aside, I think that as a singer, she is definitely great.

I'll post if I think of any others in that genre.

I love my mom's old Keely Smith records, I wonder if she's on iTunes.
