Weird headach

Had a terrible migraine Sunday and Monday. I've had headaches for 30 years, and suffered severe migraines for the past three and have tried various meds. Currently I'm on 75 mg of Topomax daily, but still get the ocassional doozy, like this week.

I thought maybe it was an ocular migraine, because I had blurry vision, my eyes hurt, and my eye sockets were very tender. I discovered of course, that this type headache normally doesn't last two days.

So, the question is, was it just another migraine, or should I have my eyes checked (they still hurt somewhat)? I also have MS and have had minor issues with my eyes before, but nothing like the migraine-type pain of Monday.

I saw your post elsewhere, and i am new to these horrid headaches for only last 7 yrs or so but mine seem to come and go with my MS flares, I also use topomax, my thought was when you described it behind the eye, of course ON because this has been suggested to me by my doc recently, or the Flu? thats where i get them when i get the flu, just a a thought, thats exactly where i hurt when i get the flu

I hope yours go away real soon

I dealt with mine for over two weeks this time, with two trips to hospital and still its there but not as bad, my steroids have helped and darvocets and topomax

I too have Migraines and MS, although I've had migraines for a lot longer. I take 400 mg a day for migraines as 75 didn't even touch them. When I tried to titrate down to 375, I got a headache, so 400 is my dose. :)

If you are getting break through headaches, you might want to talk to your doc about titrating up your dose...

It might not hurt to see an ophthalmologist. I hope your headache is gone and stays away!
