Multi tasking....

the older I get the worse I am at it and I know it and still try to do it. In fact I am almost frenetic about it. The problem is nothing gets finished!

Example....I'm changing sheets in the guest bedroom when I decide to rearrange the furniture. Mr.Alffe isn't back yet and some of it is heavy and once again I have a heavy file wedged in a doorway.

Mr.Alffe calls and says he'd like a pizza for dinner tonight and I have spagetti sauce simmering on the stove...so I go down the back stairs, (can't get thru the other way due to the file..:o ) and put the sheets in the dryer, turn off the spagetti sauce, pull pizza dough out of the freezer and the phone rings.

It's a church friend who insists on bringing something to dinners for 8 here next Friday night and when I say bring wine...she'd rather bring something else.

Well, you get the idea...and I learned something else today..I am too old to stand in the middle of the bed trying to reach the cobwebb that is driving me crazy...my balance ain't what it used to be but at least I still bounce. :D

Curious 08-17-2007 02:09 PM

don't forget to grate the cheese. :p

i was so busy the other day...grandmonkeys dr appointment..school stuff..car stuff..still unpacking...cooking..yadda yadda...

when it came time to go to bed... i saw i had never made the bed. hubby..he said..
awww...you turned down the bed already.

hahahaha...shhhhh..i ain't tellin' if you don't.

don't you go hurting youself alffe. let those gradndaughter do some bouncing and cob web catching. :D they will be there next time they come...or let doody do it! hehehe..sorry doody..couldn't help myself. i can just see it now...alffe and doody..a bottle of wine...both bouncing on the bed catching cob webs.

I made knocci, potato kind yesterday, potaoe pasta dumplins.
what fun and very good! Ground turkey and spagetti sauce, basil, then drizzle a heated mixture of cotage cheese and parmsan cheese over the top of it.
This is a very hearty dish!
knoccis cooked up in 5 minutes! they were like little mashed potato balls.
Something new to fix!!! and easy!
alffe, you are very busy!!! be careful up there....
love you
bizi

Alffe 08-18-2007 07:18 AM

My goodness Bizi...what's posessed you? :D I've never made potato dumplins but my grandma used to and they were delicious!

I want you to talk to me about cajun turkey! Makes my mouth water just thinking about it.

You know Goofy, one of the benefits of getting old is you can do what you please, when you please. :D Including jumping on beds! :o

And Curious...I won't say a word. :winky:

And it's so nice to have the file unstuck! Now if I can just keep Mr.Alffe from eating all the candy in the candy dish in Doody's room.......

bizi 08-18-2007 10:36 AM

Well alffe, the knocci came in a box and all I did was boil them so very easy to fix and they are terrible hard to actually make from scratch so I would never try to make them. I read a funny story in Oprah magazine about a woman who tried to make them and that is where I first heard of this italian staple. I think Dad would even like them.
As far as a cajun turkey...lets just say there is a needle involved...lol:eek:

Alffe 08-18-2007 12:59 PM

There is a needle involved? don't tell that to Gretchen! :D

We just came back from the antique malls in Niles...looking for chairs for the dinning room table..you know who, wants to buy a new table too...nothing's easy! I fell in love with four old stenciled chairs so he wants to dicker with them about the price..made them an offer that will probably be refused so we came home to wait for them to call.

We are awash in tomatos from the garden. Made more spagetti sauce...too bad I can't make juice...they ripen at different times and I need at least a bushel.

Do you remember what month the article was in? (talking about Oprah here)

Doody 08-18-2007 02:52 PM

:Excited: :Excited: Me and Alffe both jumping on the bed with wine? LOLOL! Well, yes, anything is possible. And correct. When we're old we can just do anything we darn well please so there. :p

Last night, Ms. Alffe, I saw a 4-pack of Kahlua Mudslides on sale. Since I've never had a mudslide, and you often mention mudslide/hottub nights, I bought them. YUM! Very nice. But ya know woman...Vodka sneaks up on ya and kicks ya right in the ****.

WHAT!!!!!!!!????? MR. ALFFE IS EATING MY CANDY!!!!!!! :yikes: That poopdedoop. Ah well, he's such a wonderful man, he can go ahead and do that...UNTIL I show up. :D I will then leave a trap in the candy dish when I'm not in my room. :D

Now please!!!!! Don't go trying to get cobwebs if it's on account of me showing up on your doorstep!!!!! I wouldn't do that. :D

Spanish Moss 08-18-2007 09:31 PM

I wonder if Doody remembers the day she was askeerd of Mr Alffe...hehehe

I wonder if I can leave a hug for everybody but an extra one for BJ and Abbie and KathyM who seem to need them

I wonder if you all know how wonderful Mr Moi is...yes I think you do

Alffe 08-19-2007 06:39 AM

I had to take an umbella out with Mr.Cooper this morning as it's just pouring while it's lightening and thundering. The forcast says it's supposed to rain everyday for the coming week. Hope it gets it out of the way before Doody comes to play. Made me wonder how Goofy is with the awful weather in Oklahoma.

I'm thrilled with my four new/used chairs and Mr.Alffe (who can be pretty scary if he wants to be) was happy that the lady came down 40.00 on the price. I looked them up on line...L.Hitchcock.Hitchcocks-ville.Conn.Warranted and got even happier! :D

Bizi I located the article in Oprah Mag. and is was a riot. Thank you!

KathyM....are you feeling any better this morning? Worried about you! :grouphug:
And Spanish Moss...dear sweet friend...he really is very special.

After the Praise Service last night we went up to the hospital to visit a good friend who is on dialysis and has diabetise...he was asleep so we left without waking him. I put him on our church prayer chain and am so hopeful.

We all have to remember that each day is a gift....I know that sometimes it feels like a bad joke. :grouphug:
