Another injury?

I have numerous nerve injuries, and bi lateral frozen shoulders, along with TOS. I have been experiencing more pain in my shoulder then before, also feel some movement. The doctor is going to try to get approval for MRI.

Could this be a shoulder tear?

Has anyone got one after already having frozen shoulders, and TOS?

My therapist says she can fix frozen shoulders. Takes time and can be painful, not always though.

My shoulders are irritated by my TOS and scalenes and pec majs & minors, I believe, and my elbows and wrists and thumbs. TOS can be pretty involved but a frozen shoulder is still a frozen shoulder. Could be two shoulder problems :(

Both shoulders are frozen, and I can't raise them up at all for a long time now. But this pain is new, I do have numerous nerve injuries in arms. I never had an MRI before.

Not really painful. may be uncomfortable. Have had my exacerbated symptoms to shoulder after MRI of hand. they put my arm over my head and put my hand in first. I'd even called to make sure they could do the wrist and thumb. I just wasn't specific enough or smart enough to ask "Just how excactly are you going to position me for the MRI and how low will it last?"

You can't have any metal in your body, as the MRI is "magnetic resonance imaging," BIG MEGA magnets.

I'd ask for a round of PT. I would also ask the different PTs in your area what their technique would be and what their success rate is.

If not released now, or soon, it will only become more frozen.

Two frozen shoulders not good for the long haul...

Maybe around of steroids or injections to help.

Just some thoughts...

You never had any MRI at all??
to check for and rule out other issues in all this time?

I kind of had to hint strongly to get my c spine and T spine checked:rolleyes:
with the repeated injuries and pain returning after I had recovered and been released back to work - I mentioned we should be sure there is no other causes.

The MRI I had was pretty basic - arms at my sides , hold still etc
{Mainly checked the spinal column - not as a TOS dx thing}

they also did a batch of xrays with me holding 10lbs weights to pull down my shoulders:eek: that was rough and some other angles/views.

The MRI machine is very noisy!
clangs, clunks, bangs just be prepared for very loud sounds and they echo inside the tube:eek:

You'll probably have to repeat the info about your frozen shoulders to all concerned- I think they don't read the forms we fill out very often. :(

frozen shoulder & mri

my shoulder was frozen when i broke it, and i worked very hard to get it unfrozen. it still has range of motion probs. i have some pulley's that i use for unfreezing purposes. i had a pt for 3 days and then they released me to be unsupervised with it. i think i did ok on my own. i had to get up very early and eat a really fast lunch to be able to do these 3 times a day.

now i use yoga for the same purposes. but the pulley would probably be good to go back to. just don't know what box it's in now after moving.

i had an mri that was painless and one that was a son of a gun, because they did contrast. this is where they inject and they try to get the dye close to the bone. needless to say this is painful. don't agree to this unless someone can drive u. u will be sore for a long time.

the mri with contrast ruled out a rotator cuff tear on the right. i got one without contrast that showed a tear in the labrum on the left (the one i broke). it is not torn all the way through. so i have to be careful not to tear it more. in yoga we have to be the judge of our own bodies.
