MRI Results

http://www.brainexplorer.org/brain-i...s_callosum.jpg

I saw my neuropsych monday. He showed me my MRI from november of 06. Then he showed me a normal brain. My corpus callosum is flattened on the top ( where i was hit on the head ), and theres a black splotch which he says indicates dead axons. Now how the other neurologists missed this is beyond me. I mean compared to a normal brain it was easy to see. I would assume as a neurologist they would know what a normal brain looks like. Knowing the nature of my injury the flat spot and black splotch did not seem important to them? WTF? This makes me angry. I find it hard to believe they didnt notice. Is it possible that they figure theres nothing to be done so lets not tell him? Hoping that the symptoms would resolve themselves?

Anyhow, my neuropsych is sending me 4 hours away for a hi res MRI to get a closer look. Ill let you know how it goes. Thanks for letting me vent. Ill see if i cant get the mri images posted.

cheers.

Owen,
Good to hear from you and hope the HR MRI is informative. Continue to be your own advocate, the health care industry is just a tool for you to use in your journey to wellness. You are smart and innovative and I am sure something will click.

I feel your pain. WTF is right. Most of these people (neurologists especially) are so bored with their lives and their line of work that they don't give a shXT. I am also venting b/c I had a lot of problems w/ my MRI and my results. I had several docs look at it and I am convinced that they still don't know what they are talking about. I feel pain and I see a darker area on my MRI in the same exact spot. It is not an artifact IMO b/c quite frankly that it the area that feels very weird. To boot, it looks wierd. UNLESS it is blood, these people don't do a dam thing and claim things are normal.

Can you tell I hate the health care industry. I am studying to be a lawyer and I will have no remorse taking their licenses away. One day. But before then, I hope I will feel better.

I should qualify my statement. There are SOME, i.e., very few, that deserve to be or should be a doctor.

HI Owen - you get to the stage that nothing like this surprises you! thanks to you, I have decided to send my MRI overseas for a 2nd opinion!! It all goes back to the fact that we need self belief and how you can't trust anybody regardless of what qualifications they are meant to have!!!! PCS victim - you go get them!!! Lynlee

Owen

I'm glad you have a 2nd opinion and a hi res MRI coming.

I have to admit I have a very good neurologist for my balance
issues.

I was never sent to a neurologist for my pcs.

Donna
