Compression sock and gel shoe insert: Seeing Improvements!!!

Drumroll please....

So my 13 year old son with CRPS is learning to walk without the orthopedic boot and has been finding it very painful. He recently started using a compression sock (loosest fit/lowest compression, available over the counter) to help with circulation issues per the suggestion of his physical therapist.

And I found gel shoe inserts to help ease his transition from walking with the boot to just a regular pair of shoes. He said the inserts are really helping ease the pain of walking, so I'm sharing it here hoping it will help someone else too. They're called Soft Point Full Insoles, and are a silicone shock absorbing gel. (They also have 3/4 length and heel cup styles.) I got them at Binson's Home Health Care. They were expensive (around $50) but I would happily pay much more to ease his pain.

I (think) we're turning a corner here. It's like a snowball effect - progress is greater with each roll of the snowball. (Big sigh of relief....)

Yeah! so glad to hear it. I wore compression for a long, long time, used cushy insoles, even bought a half size up on shoes so I could use extra Cush. It does make a difference. Whatever it takes to keep that foot happy and moving!
