It is worth a try, right?

the prescription meclizine didnt seem to help.

But taking the 10yr old raspberry flavored over the counter meclizine and then sleeping for a half hour seems to have helped me. Weird. I dont know if it was the sleep, or the raspberry flavor meclizine. Or a combination of all three...the sleep, the Rx meclizine and the OTC meclizine...(that's probably what did it)

I do have some peeps upstairs. 1yr old peeps. and a huge bag of miniature kit kats and reeses peanut butter cups. Maybe I could make peep s'mores later and hope it doesnt make me sicker.

I'm still spinning some, but now it's going slower and as long as I dont turn my head, or close my eyes while standing, it's better than it was earlier this morning. I can make jokes about food without feeling super queasy

I can tell that it's going away. It's the weirdest thing, sometimes when I get vertigo and take the raspberry flavored OTC meclizine, once the spinning starts to let up, I get really really really hungry. It's the strangest thing.

I'm not eating anything for several hours tho. I learned the hard way last year to wait several hours before eating something after a bad vertigo attack like that.

I guess this is payback for having all that dental work done a week and a half ago...(or payback for not going to the dentist and getting the problem taken care of a couple of years ago when the problem started)

I think I'll go sleep off the meclizine. I'm still spinny. at least it's not as horrible as it was a few hours ago. I wanted to die then.

Erin, I woke yesterday thinking I was having a vertigo day! I had only dealt with that a few times back a couple years ago. I had been given diazapam I think it was to try next time...but each time I would get dizzy back then, I would be at work and did not want to try that at work without knowing side effects.

anyhow, yesterday to life head all would spin, been ok since, just a bit light stuff now and then since. huggsss cause that feeling is awful, sarah

I just have to thank goodness for the Sam's (WalMart) brand of Black Cherry carbonated water and the Sam's brand of snack crackers.

Once the meclizine kicked in, and the weird hungry feeling that I get when the dizziness is starting to back off came on....I went upstairs and had a bottle of the carbonated water and a handful of crackers...and a couple of mini Kit Kats.

weirdest thing that I get hungry after the spinning starts to get better.

The spinning has not quit, but it's more of a lightheaded feeling now than when the room was actively spinning around.

As long as I dont move my head too quickly, or try to read quickly it's not as freaking horrible as it was. All I want to do now is sleep. I really really hate vertigo. My head hurts like crazy now.

I hope this goes away in a little while. I hate this. ick.

I'm going to go sleep like the dead for a little while.

Did you have anything to take for it?

I dont have the room spinning anymore, but there's a feeling of nausea still lurking. I'm still hungry and still eat, but there's just a low grade nausea sensation that's making me feel just not quite right.

Whenever I've had the vertigo, I've found that sleeping thru it helps a lot. I get weird dreams tho...either from the vertigo, or maybe the Meclizine or both. Really bizzare stuff...things that if people could see the dreams, they'd back away slowly and then turn and run away. (nothing creepy really, just whacko)

I go to the neuro later this month. I cant wait. Not only have I had vertigo this week, I've also had increased numbness (well, probably more like wearing gloves) in my left hand. So far as I've noticed, it's only affecting part of my ring finger, a bit of the palm, and my index finger. I cant tell if the middle finger is being bothered by it for some reason.

I'm blaming the dental work I had a few weeks ago.

I find Klonipin far more effective than meclizine.

Yup. Klonopin/Clonazepam is pretty much a wonder drug for me.

It also helps to slow down the nystagmus in my left eye. Speaking of that, I think I will go get some!
