Pain Pump clamp to secure the catheter problems

Has anyone who has a pain pump had problems with the hardware they use to secure the catheter down? Immediately after coming out of recovery after having mine installed in Oct 2012, I had the most horrible pain in my lower back at the incision site. After many months of complaining about this, I found out it was a huge piece of plastic they use to clamp down the catheter. I don't know if all doctors secure it down in the same place, but mine is right at my tail bone, so every time I sit, or try to bend at a certain, stand for a few minutes at a time, or lay down on it, it causes excrutiating pain. I complained about it immediately after the surgery, but the complaint was literally ignored like it didn't exist. If any of you read my other posts, the pain pump had also been RECALLED, but I hadn't found out about this yet. The recall issue is not what was causing the pain.... but, I didn't understand why my doctor was ignoring the fact that I had a brand new pain since the pump was installed. I had to find out from Dr. 2 what the problem was. It has been 10 months now since I had the pump installed. The pain has become more tolorable than the first 4 months, when I was literally disabled from it. But just wondering if anybody else has had this problem and how it was fixed.

Dear Beside- you need pirates of the Caribbean or the East African sort to go after the first of your treatment folk. You complained of this and had to hear from Doctor 2 the problem was the bloomin CLAMP???? Outrageous this is!!!!! A jury might love to give thought........ jury, are you out there????

We need people to weigh in on this!!!
All in favor of pirates?????

ARGHHHHHH,

Jury

Beside, along with Mark my vote is ARGHHHH, too! Sounds like somebody really screwed up with the clamp thing. Maybe you need to find a lawyer to gently convince the docs to make this thing right! Or perhaps that band of pirates Mark suggested.

Hugs,
Jan

Pirates it is!

Besidemyself, that really stinks!! I hear of things like this once in awhile and it really makes me angry. Seems as tho some Dr's go their merry way once the money is in the pocket from an expensive implant like this. No concern whatsoever for the patient suffering needlessly like you had to. There's no excuse for that. You should never have had to suffer all that time.

I agree --- bring out the JURY!!

Gosh, thanks to all of you. I have felt so alone and desperate. I finally met with my original doctor yesterday. I told him that I have "permanant" damage from this issue. I do have an attorney on board now, not because of this issue, but because when the pump was installed, it was under a Class I Recall and they still install. The doctor is denying knowledge of the recall Medtronics is trying to say the recall didn't exsist even though I have all the recall information and my serial number printed on a recall list right in front of their face...... I feel like I'm in a tunnel with everyone looking down on me saying....... We're sooooo big there's nothing you can do to touch us.......
