After Care Advice

I am considering the surgery with Dr. Thompson. I have Venous and Neurogenic. I think it could help and alleviate a lot of pain. I am worried about staying in St. Louis 7-10 days. I am single and trying to find someone to come and stay with me will be hard. Also, I live alone and am wondering how much I will be able to do and what I will feel like afterward. I have pets too. It would be awesome to get relief but I'm wondering if anyone can give some ideas or info on how much help I will need and what recovery will be like. I'm in good health, 49 years old. Thanks

What kind/size of pets and how many?
* neighbor/local kid to help with pet care?

For the 7-10 day stay , ask the drs office for referrals to a close & appropriate place , some places give a discount for surgical pts. Ask about that..
A place with breakfast/ meals room service will be helpful.. and possibly a recliner in the room..as you may have troubles getting in/out of regular bed early on.

Have some easy meals and plenty of easy food & easy to fix in the pantry for when you get home so you don't need to shop right away...

Easy on/off clothes. over the head is difficult movement at first- so buttons , zippers, snaps..

Recovery is so different for everyone, sometimes easy, sometimes not.. most do feel like they were hit by a truck for 2 weeks or so..
