Extra Sensitive to Small Sounds

I was sitting on my laptop as my daughter buttered her toast today, and I seriously thought I was going to lose my mind. I could hear every scratch of the knife against the bread.

I had this problem the other day as well. My son was eating chips next to me, and my brain felt like it was going to explode. It was actually physically painful for me.

Maybe this means my health is improving? A few months ago, I used to completely zone out. Someone could be a foot away calling my name, and I wouldn't even hear them.

I don't even know if this is related to the concussion or not. I'm just curious if anybody else has this problem.

Hypersensitivity to sound is a PCS symptom. I remember walking along the street and being irritated by metallic jangle, I thought it was something on me but it was a man's keys about 30 yards behind me! It's like the brain is turned up to max.

Yup. Do you guys almost flinch in reaction to these? I watched a little bit of DDay in Color that I dvrd a few weeks ago. Everytime they showed a tank, mortor, or ship firing its cannons it made me cringe and flinch. Almost like I could feel it going off.

i know that i hear "soft" noises, like spreading peanut butter on toast, keys rattling, rattles in the car while driving that drive me crazy, but loud noises really do not bother me too much.
